I think the reason people have been posting about the crimes of the Israeli military is because it’s not really being reported on mainstream news.
Hamas’ crimes have been widely reported and condemned (as they should be!) but the atrocities that are being carried out by the IDF are mainly being ignored (and have been for years!) I think the fact that the five newborn babies left to die alone in Al Nasr hospital by the IDF hasn’t made headline news is a prime example of this.
I don’t agree at all with people saying that it looks like the hostages have been treated well, I think if they were, it was for practical reasons, not because Hamas are caring individuals and I think it’s crazy to see it any other way. It certainly doesn’t excuse their horrific actions on 7th October, and the fact that the hostages were violently kidnapped in the first place!
Everyone I have spoken to about this in real life has been fairly balanced, condemning both Hamas and the response of the Israeli military.
