Putting all the usual derailing “Hamas aren’t antisemitic terrorists, they’re just an anti-Zionist resistance group, you’re all heartless genocide supporters!” to one side.
There seems to be growing dissent among the Gazans angered by the expectation that they’ll support Hamas, when Hamas doesn’t support them. There were (alleged) reports last week that a Gazan boy (named as Ahmed Brachna) was fatally shot by a Hamas police officer whilst approaching a humanitarian aid shipment, which caused a riot and calls for retribution against Hamas by the boy’s family. There’s been more footage coming out of Gaza of Hamas terrorists hijacking aid convoys, distributing supplies only amongst themselves and Hamas employees, opening fire on civilians desperately trying to get food and water.
Will Hamas authorities be able to control a population who feel they have nothing left to lose and can see further unbearable hardship is being imposed upon them by their own leadership?
