Wait, what - Jedi settlers?

This link to a twitter post is quite graphic and really, really upsetting so be warned.

This British lady's husband has a cousin still being held hostage, who watched his own family being slaughtered. I think a few people around these threads should watch it, especially the Hamas apologists and minimisers of 7/10.

I watched that and it's vile

They used the neighbours boy to entice them out the safe room Shock

Awful

I pray for the fathers safe return

Sorry I can't watch this stuff anymore. It sits with me for too long. However I can imagine just from your description. Thank you for the warning, much appreciated

Yes you read correctly I was talking about Jedi settlers (in Gaza) but mumsnet deleted that masterpiece post. It made much more sense than some of today's geographical and political incorrect posts. I was making a point about today's posts on this thread. Mumsnet mods apparently didn't find it as amusing as myself. It will be forever lost in the mumsnet vault of deleted posts.

He's wearing his reverend clothing and if he works for the church then surely he follows his holy book.

In any event when is a 'mere man' allowed to decide forgiveness. He's making himself judge and jury.

He is trying to make a strong point in a world which is allowing a genocide to occur. Is this really what you are focusing on rather than the gravity of his message? There is so much deflection on here about actual atrocities that continue to occur, day after day.

Trulywonderful · 28/12/2023 00:06

Right wing and fascism

Jewish person says something so must be true about Israel etc

We are heartless and don't care one iota about the killing

Resistance groups

Only finding hate here

No one should have rights over others

Living through History now etc

(Can't decide whether to answer the post or send the obviously a kid or at least posting like a teenager to bed. Maybe I will go to bed instead)

Dammit, why do I always miss the actual good shit.

etmoiandme · 28/12/2023 00:11

I see the good Jew/bad Jew thing is going strong on here.

I see the good Jew/bad Jew thing is going strong on here.

Good Jew - Bad Jew

Only good Jew is an antizionist Jew

That kind of theme as normal but not said directly. Plus a lot of bad geography of the area and mixing up the actions of Hezbollah/Hamas/IDF or something today, not knowing much about the politics etc I think.

If you go to the thread about a article on the marches you will see a whopping big shocker on that tonight. Seriously some people have no moral compass left

etmoiandme · 28/12/2023 00:35

@Trulywonderful Oh I've just been there (name change fail😂).

Gaza rocket hits synagogue in southern Israeli town.

A rocket fired by Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip has struck a synagogue at a town in the Sdot Negev Regional Council.

Video from synagogue shows a significant hole in the roof and extensive damage inside.

Putting all the usual derailing “Hamas aren’t antisemitic terrorists, they’re just an anti-Zionist resistance group, you’re all heartless genocide supporters!” to one side.

There seems to be growing dissent among the Gazans angered by the expectation that they’ll support Hamas, when Hamas doesn’t support them. There were (alleged) reports last week that a Gazan boy (named as Ahmed Brachna) was fatally shot by a Hamas police officer whilst approaching a humanitarian aid shipment, which caused a riot and calls for retribution against Hamas by the boy’s family. There’s been more footage coming out of Gaza of Hamas terrorists hijacking aid convoys, distributing supplies only amongst themselves and Hamas employees, opening fire on civilians desperately trying to get food and water.
Will Hamas authorities be able to control a population who feel they have nothing left to lose and can see further unbearable hardship is being imposed upon them by their own leadership?

It’s really sad that this is how you choose to engage. You seem not to care one iota for the unprecedented killing that has been happening for the past 11 weeks and the immense suffering, and ignore any wrong doing done by Israel that has caused the Palestinian resistance groups to exist in the first place.

I'm sorry, are you coming on a thread about Hamas terrorism and calling them a "resistance group"?

SomeCatFromJapan · 28/12/2023 08:31

I missed that bit in the screed. Wow, that's quite... sad how the poster is choosing to engage, I guess?

Avi Shlaim, professor of international relations at Oxford University:

The only way to make sense of Israel’s cruel and self-defeating wars in Gaza is through understanding the historical context. From whatever perspective one chooses to view it, the establishment of the state of Israel in May 1948 involved a monumental injustice to the Palestinians. Three quarters of a million Palestinians became refugees, and the name Palestine was wiped off the map… In the history of the Palestinian people, the most traumatic event is the Nakba, which is not in fact a one-off event but the ongoing process of the dispossession and displacement of Palestinian people from their homeland that continues to this day, in the unspeakable horrors being visited by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Gaza.

SomeCatFromJapan · 28/12/2023 11:05

@ritenuto again, there is a thread for documenting this stuff. In fact there are a plethora to choose from.
This thread is specifically to discuss the actions of Hamas, and you are spamming it.

Resistance

Right enshrined in international law

That sounds like support for a terrorist organisation

25milesfromhome · 28/12/2023 11:12

If someone mentions resistance - you must scream ‘Hamas supporter’!

Tbf, when someone screams” resistance group!” at any mention of Hamas, it does sort of scream “Hamas supporter!”

Under international law, one has the right to resist a military occupation.

May I remind you that Hamas resisted by raping women and girls until their pelvises shattered, gang-raped young woman severed their breasts while they were still alive, gouged out eyes and hacked off digits, and burned bound women and children alive?

I don't think any "political party" capable of the actions of 7 October should be anywhere near the reins of power. And soon they won't be.
