@Parkingt111 oh no what a mess - apologies for being sceptical about it all

The ICRC deny they were involved or told to move the babies
And the doctor also says they asked the IDF to move the 5 remaining babies who were on oxygen

It's absolutely tragic
Those poor poor babies
I won't post the video here. I'm shocked that something as big as this has recieved so little coverage in MSM

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 18:55

@Efacsen I was sceptical too which is why I didn't comment much on it until today when I saw both MSF and ICRC post on it

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 19:02

I doubt it will happen but I am hoping there is an investigation done into this
How was this allowed to happen
The doctors were forced to evacuate the hospital by the IDF leaving behind 5 of the most critically ill babies and they were then just left to die.
What a tragedy
Surely something like this can't be considered collateral damage

queenofarles · 30/11/2023 19:11

Alnasir was Gazas only children hospital, and I can’t remember why it was evacuated ,
Surly they’ve seen the babies in the NICU .

Surely it has to be a war crime. Whoever ordered those doctors to leave are responsible even if it is a cockup that they weren't moved. If you leave vulnerable babies like that you have to make sure they are safe.

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 19:16

@Iwasafool yes
In the second clip which Is from doctors without borders
It's a compilation of different doctors talking about how they had to evacuate the hospitals
The doctor who talks about how they had to leave an nasr mentions in there that they informed the IDF of the five remaining babies and requested that they be transferred to Al shifa hospital
These babies were on oxygen and they couldn't take them with them

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 19:19

@Efacsen now the ICRC have brought it up do you think MSM will report it

stormy4319trevor · 30/11/2023 19:19

Appalling. I wonder if political leaders will mention it at all.

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 19:23

@stormy4319trevor unfortunately I don't think they will
It will probably just be considered another tragedy of war

Efacsen · 30/11/2023 19:27

@Parkingt111 IDK the Guardian clearly do a trawl thro' MSF, Red Cross etc twitter a couple of times a day - so maybe later on?

If anyone else comes across anything else about it from reputable sources please do share

stormy4319trevor · 30/11/2023 19:30

@Parkingt111 I feel that way. But it's outrageously cruel/negligent and will be hard to downplay if reported in major news outlets.

Toothyfruity · 30/11/2023 20:15

https://www.thejournal.ie/five-premature-babies-have-been-found-dead-in-gaza-

It's been reported on Irish mainstream online media service Journal.ie though it seems that the story came from AFP.

I had really hoped that this was fake news. I'm absolutely livid and horrified and genuinely struggling with this one.

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 20:49

Hey @Toothyfruity when I click on the link it says page not found

Thanks, I understood the doctors were ordered, I meant whoever gave that order, presumably an IDF officer is responsible and should be tried for a war crime.

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 23:03

@Toothyfruity thank you that link worked

parksandrecs · 30/11/2023 23:18

It is horrendous

parksandrecs · 30/11/2023 23:20

Why are some lives more important than others?

Not really read it but on a quick skim all the videos and interviews seem to be there

Nothing in my favoured places but hopefully news of these poor babies deaths will soon begin to be known more widely - what on earth must their parents be feeling faced with such horror

End or not of ceasefire may drown it out?

Red Cross: Footage of 'decomposing babies' an 'unspeakable tragedy'

The Red Cross says that footage that allegedly shows the bodies of five Palestinian children left to die in the Al-Nasr Hospital in Gaza represents an 'unspeakable tragedy.'

Posting this here as well - think I'm de-railing the 'Detainees, Truce etc' thread

Unicef spokesman James Elder has reported that an airstrike landed about 50 metres away from the “biggest still functioning hospital in Gaza.”

“This hospital simply cannot take more children with the wounds of war,” he says in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. He pans briefly to children asleep on the floor of a hospital room. Elder is the chief of communications for the United Nation’s Children’s Fund. His post was accompanied with the caption “Has humanity given up on the children of Gaza?”

“I cannot overstate how the capacity has been reduced in hospitals over the last seven weeks. We cannot see more children with the wounds of war, with the burns, the shrapnel litering their body, with their broken bones. Inaction from those with influence is allowing the killing of children. This is a war on children.

@Efacsen il try and find it but I'm sure I read the US said there can be no more attacks on hospitals

Efacsen · 01/12/2023 08:38

Maybe I'm wrong but thought it was the UN rather than US who said no more bombing hospitals? In which case it will be 100% ignored

This is from the Times of Israel
It was after Blinkens visit yesterday

Blinken said he told Israeli leaders that the IDF must prepare for how it will keep civilians safe before resuming its military campaign, including setting up safe zones.
“I made clear that before Israel resumes major military operations, it must put in place humanitarian, civilian protection plans that minimize further casualties of innocent Palestinians. That means taking more effective steps to protect the lives of civilians, including by clearly and precisely designating areas and places in southern and central Gaza where they can be safe and out of the line of fire.”
He also said Israel must avoid further mass displacement of Palestinians; avoid the targeting of “life-critical infrastructure” such as hospitals power stations and water treatment plants; and allow the eventual return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza.
