Not Al-Shifa, but Al-Amal hospital...

"Evacuate" is such a lovely word for "condemning patients to death".

Scirocco · 25/03/2024 20:44

It really is...

Efacsen · 26/03/2024 07:26

Indeed 'evacuation' has now come to mean 'get out of the way' rather than moving to to a place of safety

See also Rafah and al Mawasi which have been re-named 'humanitarian areas' rather than 'safe areas'

Looks like Khan Younis only has one [totally overwhelmed] hospital nearby - the European - now that both al Amal and Nasser have been destroyed

Still patients and staff at al Shifa who need to be properly evacuated

The Oxford surgeon Professor Nick Maynard was just interviewed. He said that hospital infrastructure was being deliberately targeted- oxygen lines destroyed etc.
He encourages people to March

So many US and UK Doctors giving compelling testimony on what is happening.

What the...? Astaghfirullah, if confirmed that's terrible. Is there any confirmation?

EasterIssland · 28/03/2024 21:57

@Scirocco this is what that account is reporting

Warning triggering images on the link

edit : it seems to be near the hospital rather than inside. Not that it changes the outcome

Scirocco · 28/03/2024 22:02

That's horrific.

IDF have left al Shifa after 2 weeks

The World Health Organization has said 21 patients have died in al-Shifa in the past two weeks, and said yesterday that over 100 patients requiring care needed to urgently be moved to safety amid unsanitary conditions.

“Among the patients are 4 children and 28 critical patients lacking necessary means of care – no diapers, urine bags, water to clean wounds. Many have infected wounds and are dehydrated,” the WHO’s head, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, wrote on X on Sunday.

“Since yesterday only one bottle of water remains for every 15 people. Contagious diseases are spreading due to extremely unsanitary conditions, and a lack of water.”

Yes saw the footage on BBC news, hospital pretty much rubble now, according to the Israeli government the operation was a huge success with 200 Hamas and jihadi terrorists arrested. No independent evidence of this though just their account. Not sure how they can consider having to reoccupy a hospital they previously invaded and raising it to the ground displacing and killing the sick and dying any sort of success

Parkingt111 · 01/04/2024 10:48

@Efacsen thanks for the update. I have seen the images of what is left of Al shifa hospital including dead bodies left strewn on the grounds within the compound. It's horrific.

WHO workers were also present at Al Aqsa mosque when it was hit by an Israeli strike yesterday. Luckily none of them were hurt

Congratulations to the IDF 👏 Consistently making the world a better place.

I thought we weren’t supposed to celebrate terrorists

mids2019 · 01/04/2024 11:24

200 combatants killed would be viewed as a successful operarion. I guess that means 200 less to threaten Israel.

Dulra · 01/04/2024 11:27

@mids2019
I care more for the civilian lives lost and the largest hospital in Gaza reduced to rubble especially considering the IDF occupied it back on November and failed to secure it smacks of incompetence to me

Dulra · 01/04/2024 11:28

200 combatants killed
According to the IDF whose to know....

mids2019 · 01/04/2024 12:18

@Supra

Every time the Israeli military leave an area there will be room for Hamas to move back. In this case they cynically used a hospital for a base for attqck.

I agreed it would have been better to have troops stationed there but I guess there is a resource limit.

mids2019 · 01/04/2024 12:20

Isn't it better to believe the IDF than a health organisation can by a terrorist orgnasiation.

It is good to at least have a number because you wish to stop a narrative that the IDF are operating as death squads which is absolutely not the case. Maybe they had to get a number out quickly to justify the scale of the actiion?

EasterIssland · 01/04/2024 12:22

A journalist has posted about al shifa situation and how many deaths has idf left behind

The issue is idf lies and kills innocent civilians so I won’t believe a single word they say. Also , the health organisation has been many times believed by international organisations when talking about killed numbers
