@FOJN it is indeed and clever stuff too

Saw a little clip of film with the parcels of aid being pushed out of the plane high above the clouds which then found their way to the right place on the ground using 'guided technology'

It's quite ridiculous that such a small thing cheered me a bit but that's where we are at the moment.

This sounds really interesting. I read about the airdrop too and was wondering how they managed to do it

@FOJN same, there Is still a dire need for much more more aid aswell as medical aid. The bombing is still continuous and therefore so are the subsequent injuries

Parkingt111 · 06/01/2024 22:13

@Toothyfruity i saw that aswell and was and still am in total disbelief. I have no idea what an earth that could be for.
I'm hoping it's reported on MSM so there can at the least be some accountability for it

Efacsen · 06/01/2024 22:23

Al-Asqa hospital given orders to evacuate by IDF so MSF have withdrawn their staff [and their families] from the area

Many injured and displaced people are still sheltering inside the hospital

OP posts:
Parkingt111 · 06/01/2024 22:26

@Efacsen oh no that's terrible! How will they evacuate the injured?

Efacsen · 06/01/2024 22:38

it usually falls to UN/WHO/PRCS when permitted by the army but until then goodness knows what will happen

Nice to see a European and a Middle Eastern country working together on this project.

Parkingt111 · 07/01/2024 11:33

@Thereissomelight yes it is. Hopefully we continue to see more of this

The situation at Al Aqsa hospital has become much worse, not only that but the WHO has had to cancel operations to delivery medical supplies in the north for the 5th time now due to heavy bombardment and no safety guarantees
They have been trying since the 26th of December, the injuries are increasing and unfortunately the hospitals that are still part functioning just cannot cope as they are running out of space and even the very basic supplies

The wounded and injured figure is now approx 56 thousand

Parkingt111 · 08/01/2024 11:02

There is a page called Gaza Medics voices which has been posting updates. This was the latest one and bbc have also been reporting on Al Aqsa hospital.
This is so difficult to comprehend, doctors and hospitals with injured coming under direct attack, how many lives lost that could have been saved because of it

Mainly about Al Shifa [bombed front of hospital 3]
Parkingt111 · 08/01/2024 11:02

I just came across the page today

Parkingt111 · 08/01/2024 11:15

If anyone sees any updates on Al Aqsa hospital then please do post, it's extremely concerning and I know the chances are slim but I am praying for some sort of intervention at the least

Efacsen · 08/01/2024 11:26

@Parkingt111 thanks for the updates

I read yesterday that 600 patients had 'left the hospital' and that the remaining most severely injured patients were now all on one ward because of the lack of staff. Corridors still crammed with displaced people

WHO trying to find out where the 600 patients had gone

MAP and IRC medics were also evacuated yesterday

It's both incredible and appalling that newly injured patients are still being brought to the hospital - but then there's nowhere else for them to go

OP posts:
Parkingt111 · 08/01/2024 12:54

@Efacsen thank you for that
I have read on BBC I think it was that they want more of the injured and wounded to be evacuated out of Gaza for treatment but right now only approx 10-20 patients are going through
With over 50 thousand injured, it is barely a drop in the water
I do wish that atleast the injured children could be evacuated with their parents
Sepsis is also another huge concern

Parkingt111 · 08/01/2024 13:36

This is a recording and message from a WHO Member who is at Al Aqsa hospital. You can see patients including a child being treated on a blood stained floor. They are pleading for international protection for Al Aqsa hospital

Efacsen · 09/01/2024 17:27

A tiny bit of good news because everything else is so dire

600000 doses of vaccines have been purchased for use in Gaza - MMR, TB etc which probably explains the 8 fridges and 8 solar panels that were delivered recently

60000 babies have either not started or missed their jabs so at least the first step has been made to get them up to date - huge challenge

OP posts:
Parkingt111 · 09/01/2024 18:10

@Efacsen thanks for that
Have you seen any further updates for Al Aqsa hospital?
BBC verify has shown parts of Gaza which had residential buildings that have been flattened in the last few days
No wonder the dead and injured total has been so high

Parkingt111 · 09/01/2024 18:14

A whole 16 storey tower block was destroyed in Khan Younis
I'm trying to think which hospitals that are still functioning that the injured would have been taken to

Sadly a MSF Doctors 5 year old daughter passed away after being injured from a strike in Gaza 💔
There are no safe places in Gaza, not even for children or babies.

Update: The five-year-old daughter of our staff member underwent surgery at the Gaza European Hospital but died of her injuries today.

We're outraged and condemn yesterday's strike on an MSF shelter that killed a child and injured 3 others.

Efacsen · 10/01/2024 11:32

@Parkingt111 that poor little girl and her family

WRT what's happening at Al Asqa - its a bit confusing
Still lots of injured people going there
70 'volunteers' helping in the absence of medical staff
IDF humanitarian pause yesterday so ?re-supplied
Video of the ER yesterday eve - people cleaning floors not massively overcrowded

@Efacsen thank you

I have just seen the PRCS post that four members of their ambulance crew have been killed after a PRCS ambulance was targeted with a strike

I saw this. So awful. I saw on Motaz’s stories today about the ambulance being hit; many of his stories are hidden behind that graphic image screen. I couldn’t bring myself to click on them.

Parkingt111 · 10/01/2024 22:36

@Tripper79 there was also a airstrike on a home opposite Al Aqsa hospital
That's also why there was a huge amount of injuries and casualties

Surgeon says Al-Aqsa Hospital will likely become ‘completely disabled’

A British surgeon says that conditions for medical workers in Gaza are becoming unbearable, with Israel’s assault rendering facilities unusable.

“We saw the beginnings of the dismantlement of Al-Aqsa Hospital last week. My last day operating in Al-Aqsa was Friday, and having spent all day operating on a blast trauma victim, I came out of the operating theatre to hear that there had been a missile attack on the ICU,” Nick Maynard, who was working in Gaza for Medical Aid for Palestine, told Al Jazeera. “So, we were already seeing staff leaving, and progressively more staff left after that.”

“I think it’s looking extremely likely that Al-Aqsa will become completely disabled as a healthcare facility,” he added.
