PRCS ambulance station raided by IDF about 2 hours ago - men taken away to unknown location, women and children trapped inside with all communications cut off

@Efacsen truly awful. an ambulance station FGS.

Parkingt111 · 21/12/2023 18:39

@Efacsen that's probably the worst outcome from what we could have hoped
I am seeing sky and bbc reporting some very concerning developments about 11 men executed in cold blood that the UN is asking to investigate

Parkingt111 · 21/12/2023 18:41

It was after the raid of Al Awda hospital and is still being investigated

Efacsen · 21/12/2023 18:49

@Parkingt111 yes worst possible outcome tho' increasingly familiar pattern
and the 'execution' of those 11 men greatly in need of investigation

Interesting piece in the Washington Post on whether the attack on Al shifa hospitalwas justified and did the horrendous attack that didn't reveal anything of the magnitude the IDF claimed about it was just setting a precedent to attack other hospitals

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/12/21/al-shifa-hospital-gaza-hamas-israel/

Efacsen · 22/12/2023 08:34

@Parkingt111 the evidence put forward to support the destruction of Al Shifa as Hamas HQ never came up to the expectations raised by Israel - 2 days ago another 'Command Centre' just a mile away from Al Shifa was shown to Israeli journalists - later downgraded to a network of tunnels for senior Hamas figures to move between home, office and 5 nearby hospitals

Hospital premises clearly have played some role tho' whether that justifies the destruction of almost all hospital based healthcare provision seems very questionable

Latest on PRSC ambulance depot in Jabaliya

IDF have released a number of their paramedics, volunteers and women who were arrested yesterday -some of them were “beaten and tortured”

,Israeli forces continue to detain eight medical staff.

“The occupation soldiers destroyed the central radio communication device and destroyed all ambulances present in the branch,” PRCS said.

Just to add that bombing is continuing to kill and injure people nearby so it's not as though the paramedics and ambulances aren't needed

Parkingt111 · 22/12/2023 12:28

@Efacsen i have just seen on sky about the ambulance staff who said they were tortured. Another worrying pattern that has been emerging of many who have said this.

They have asked the IDF for comment but not exactly like they will say yes we did

Efacsen · 22/12/2023 13:19

@Parkingt111 maybe the IDF will say they weren't there? And then we'll all be happy

I’ve been on hols this week and took a break from mn and social media so apologies if this has been discussed already.

is it a war crime to attack those that are carrying white flags?

Just seen that a 13 year old boy was shot inside the building via Israeli drone. His name was Amir. The family thought they would be safe there

This was on the PRCS page

I was deeply shocked at that one. Yes it is a war crime to attack those carrying white flags. Pregnant women in labour, just so sad.

Back delivering aid to Al Shifa and other hospitals

The World Health Organization said it led missions to barely functioning hospitals in northern Gaza at the weekend, describing growing desperation and starving people stripping an aid truck of supplies, AFP reports.

The UN health agency and its partners delivered aid, including fuel, to the Al-Shifa hospital, once Gaza’s biggest and most advanced medical facility, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said late Sunday on X, formerly Twitter.

What the participants in the 23 December mission witnessed was “rising desperation due to acute hunger,” Tedros said.

“Partners demand immediate scale-up of food and water to ensure population health and stability.”

I have seen the devastation after the massacre of the Al maghazi refugee camp over a hundred dead and hundreds more injured
The roads leading out of the camp have also been destroyed
As Al maghazi is in Central Gaza I am wondering which hospitals that are part functioning the wounded will be taken to?

Efacsen · 25/12/2023 16:08

@Parkingt111 Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital received a lot of wounded - no idea how they'll cope as none of the hospitals are okay

Have seen very high numbers for injured

OP posts:
Parkingt111 · 25/12/2023 16:16

Injured and also so many stuck under the rubble
I think the currect recorded death toll from Al maghazi is 106 but injured is much much higher. Looking at the destruction it caused I am wondering if another 2000 pound bomb was used
It's one of the deadliest attacks in awhile but not much noise because its happening over the festive period where world leaders are busy.
From what we know of the capacity of Al Aqsa then you are right I don't see how they will cope

Israeli Govt just keep heaping horror on horror

Silence1 · 25/12/2023 19:17

Israeli Govt's Christmas message

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will intensify its fight against Hamas in the coming days.
He told members of his party that he had visited Gaza on Monday morning and that Israel's military campaign there was "not close to being over"."

You could argue this is because they are ineffective . Ineffective on the 7th October and ineffective Christmas Day except of course in their killing and maiming children, destroying lives and homes where they seem to exceed.

Parkingt111 · 25/12/2023 22:36

I found this update. I believe it is a member of the WHO at Al-Shifa hospital today. Got to see the inside of the hospital again. It's still as grim as ever

Parkingt111 · 26/12/2023 13:26

I have just seen this on sky news and wondering whether this is something that must be affecting the Gazans too and how it came about

One of the soldiers has now died from this infection

IDF soldier dies after being infected with dangerous fungus in Gaza - reportsAn IDF soldier has died after being infected by a harmful fungus in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reports.
The soldier was taken to Assuta Ashdod Medical Center weeks after returning from Gaza with serious limb injuries due to the infection.
It is understood that around 10 soldiers have now been infected with the same fungus and are undergoing treatment in Israel, The Times of Israel reports, citing Kan radio.
The latest report comes after the Association for Infectious Diseases (AID) in Israel said that several drug-resistant pathogens had been found in the injuries of returning Israeli troops.
"In all hospitals it is reported that soldiers have returned from the battlefield with resistant infections," Professor Galia Rahav, chairman of the AID, told The Telegraph last week.
The expert added that contact with the soil and mud in Gaza could causes exposure to such resistant bacteria and mould.

stormy4319trevor · 26/12/2023 13:33

@Parkingt111 That's interesting. I don't know if this is a new pathogen, generated by unsanitary conditions, or something longstanding that Gazans might have some resistance to. Seems likely everyone there could be affected. I'll keep an eye out for any other news on it.

Parkingt111 · 26/12/2023 13:57

@stormy4319trevor I saw elsewhere that it's through contamination of sewage water mixed with soil but that's not from a verified source
