Save your energy ladies. The barrel scraping to disguise their bigotry, really
is cringeworthy.

Oh we know

SharonEllis · 02/12/2023 20:53

@TrulyWonderful far too many people enjoy this pastime but I try to stay positive that off MN & other social media rabbit holes most people have a more balanced view.

OP posts:
Depdawg · 02/12/2023 20:53

Can you imagine what kind of person you
must be to gaslight a community on
the hate they face?
These same people who preach to others about morality and humanity.
There are some real desperate efforts being made here.

Depdawg · 02/12/2023 20:54

The irony being a couple of us have just been reminded about MN rules on derailing on another thread!

ohforheavenssakedearcomeonnow · 02/12/2023 20:55

The thread got derailed as the usual suspects arrived after being called for reinforcements.

Trulywonderful · 02/12/2023 20:55

quiteoldad · 02/12/2023 20:49

Thank you Storm, who wrote
"I am really confused by the way this thread is going/ being derailed and why?"

Indeed. I'm in full agreement.
Let's get back to the march and why in its advertisement there is not one Israeli flag to be seen.

Edited

Which apparently was discussed at great length on this thread already. There is this not another attempt at derailing?

Looks like it if that is true

parksandrecs · 02/12/2023 20:56

That is a very unpleasant accusation.

As I have said, please point me in the direction of sources to understand better.

otherwise it seems you have no answer to people who disagree except to accuse them of gaslighting - without any evidence, and it just looks as if you are unable to face people who genuinely disagree with you, and have to attack them rather than have anything to answer them with

Oh these types don't exsist in the open in decent society. That is why they need twitter, mumsnet etc

They know people in the workplace or in most communities won't put up with this stupid tactical prejudiced crap. So they need to get it out of their system online. Lucky us.

I mean there are some many threads but they are attracted to one posted on by mainly Jews about antisemitism. Then proceed to tell us how we don't understand antisemitism and are doing marches wrong etc. Beggers belief at the rubbish some people come out with.

'But flags.....'

quiteoldad · 02/12/2023 21:05

Which apparently was discussed at great length on this thread already. There is this not another attempt at derailing?

Nonsence,

Not every relevant aspect has been discussed at great length. After 31 pages ( about 750 posts) I was the first to mention there is no flag in the advert. Look 10 or so pages back and note that I highlighted the lack of flags at the French march. Whilst the presence of flags, which I intially brought up on page 2 has indeed been talked about, no one has yet come up with a suggestion why either the advert for the London march or the french march were devoid of flags.

parksandrecs · 02/12/2023 21:05

The family members and friends I have that are Jewish distance themselves from Israel.

They are all aware of their right to Israeli citizenship, but do not want to live in Israel because they do not believe in either the wish for a Jewish state or the religious claims about land. They disagree with the way Israel expands its territory and ignores international law, and support the rights of the Palestinian people to live without Israel's abuse of power.

I have spoken on many many threads about Zionism and what it means both recently and other the years

Seriously everyone knows Truly and my credibility on here isn't in question, not even slightly. However yours is hanging on by a thread literally at this point

I am not here to teach you unless choose to do so. You have posted in a way that makes you look bias if not prejudice on a thread about antisemitism. Therefore I choose not to help you. It is as simple as that.

You opposed anti-Semitism, yet have no problem telling anti-Semitic jokes. 🤔

Don't start spraying out accusations of anti semitism at someone whose political views you disagree with. It debases, devalues and trivialises the real problem of antisemitism.

Edited

I'm spraying accusations of anti-Semitism about someone who make a joke about am old Jewish woman using anti-Semitic stereotypes. The mods clearly agreed with me because it was deleted.

@parksandrecs thank you for sharing your and your families experience with being Jewish.
My experience is different to yours. I have family living there.
We all have different experiences though and that's ok.

What all of them?
How convenient.
Evidence?

'But flags.....'

I don't know anyone IRL who supports Israel, or Hamas.

Most think Palestinians are oppressed by Israel, as much as they think about it at all. And that Israel has a right to exist, but not obliterate Palestinians or ignore UN resolutions

stomachameleon · 02/12/2023 21:10

@parksandrecs once again that is not my experience and I don't think I am unique.

No idea if nonsense or not. I can only go on what other posters are saying because I haven't read every page but dip in and out of the thread.

Anyway what is nonsense to you obviously isn't to those that what to talk on this thread about antisemitism instead of having it derailed by flag talk

Therefore you should probably do the decent thing at this point. Unless you want to stick about and talk about antisemitism in the UK and abroad.

You have chosen not to help you. Fair enough.

That seems to me that you can't answer my questions, so I will ignore your comments from now on

noblegiraffe · 02/12/2023 21:14

In the realm of threads, a noble cause,
Against the shadows, fighting with no pause.
Antisemitism, the foe at hand,
United hearts, a collective stand.

A sea of words, a tide so strong,
Voices rising, against the wrong.
Thread commenced, with purpose grand,
To foster change across the land.

But alas, a twist, a subtle turn,
As discussions unfold, and passions burn.
Flags enter the stage, with colors bright,
Distracting from the cause, veering from the fight.

In the dance of words, the focus wanes,
Antisemitism, momentarily restrained.
Flags, like sails, catch the wind,
Steering the discourse, another kin.

Yet, let not the cause be lost at sea,
For unity's strength lies in you and me.
Gently, bring back the ship to shore,
Resuming the fight, as it was before.

Flags may flutter in the digital breeze,
But let not their sway your purpose tease.
Antisemitism, the true foe in sight,
Bring back the focus, reclaim the fight.

So in this thread, where ideas may clash,
Let understanding be the anchor, not the hash.
Against hate's current, let words stand firm,
In the face of flags, let unity confirm.

What has that got to do with this thread though?

Nothing

So no idea why you are saying that to me

I am not Israeli, a member of a political party involved or your counsellor

Are you asking for names and addresses?

No doubt we are shaped by the people around us, and therefore live to a certain extent in an echo chamber. That applies to both of us

I've lost track. We had some sensible discussion early on soon after the march. Lets leave it at that and remember the solidarity & positivity of the march. I wish I could close the thread now as it just goes round in circles!

Agreed - I found the march sombre and dignified. I'm very glad that it was organised and to have participated. I haven't read the full thread, but I can see the direction in which it has been taken, and I'm sorry to see that.
