what I find deeply unnerving though is despite that suffering the majority of Jewish posters on these threads appear to be either supportive or defensive of what Israel is doing (at least based on the comments ive seen). Appreciate not all and there have been some Jewish posters who are not supportive and have even spoken of their participation in ceasefire marches.

Yup. Pro war, pro Israel posters go to a march where Israeli flags are being swung around and then expect us to all to believe that the march was not indeed some kind of pro war march. Perhaps the people on mumsnet are just poor representatives of the majority of people that attended, I hope they are but having read on mumsnet the views of the people that were attending then seeing all of the Israeli flags it really did have the look of a pro war march.

Like I said perhaps the representation on mumsnet is just poor and not a reflection of the general feelings of the majority present but personally when I see that the posters here who attended are those who have spent weeks excusing Israels war crimes and deflecting whenever Palestinian suffering is mentioned I am sceptical about whether their motives to attend were actually about antisemitism or whether they just wanted a chance to show their support for Israel(which of course they are entitled to do but I don't see why they wouldn't just be honest about it).

This Jewish group are pro ceasefire and not afraid to call out antisemitism. They released a statement about the protests:

You are being naive if you think you can, at this moment, expect people to
believe that flying the flag of Israel is "Nothing to do with the conflict". At present Israel is engaged in one of the bloodiest campaigns of its recent history and its flag cannot be dissociated from that nation's behaviour.

The march was a march against antisemitism, not a march showing support for Israel. The presence of the flag tainted what was otherwise a very worthy cause. The same applies to the singing of the Israeli national anthem.

At another time those flags might be a beautiful and heartwarming site and I would hope for the day when one could be proud of the state of Israel, but until then it would be best to leave them folded and away.

It's not up to you to tell Jews how they relate to a flag which is tied up in their identity (for some of them). Seriously, would you presume to police the expressions of identity of any other group in this way? Israel suffered the bloodiest attack on Jews since the holocaust. That keeps being forgotten.

It was about lots of other cultures in attendance to show that the march against anti-Semitism was diverse.

Looks like people were able to put their views to one side for the common good. Lots of faiths and diversity. No exclusionary behaviour.

I thought it was amazing.
