Details from Sky News

Key points of the deal according to statements by Israel and Hamas:
• 50 Israeli women and children held by Hamas in Gaza to be released over four days during which there will be a pause in the fighting
• For every additional 10 hostages released thereafter there will be another day's pause in the fighting
• 150 Palestinian women and people under the age of 19 held in Israeli prisons to be freed
• Humanitarian relief, medical and fuel aid to be allowed into all areas of the Gaza Strip
• Aerial surveillance by Israel to halt for four days in the south of the Gaza Strip
• Aerial surveillance by Israel to halt for six hours a day from 10am to 4pm for four days in the north of the Gaza Strip

Breaking news on BBC some good news for some patients at Al Shifa

Fourteen ambulances arrive at al-Shifa hospital to evacuate patients

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says 14 ambulances have arrived at al-Shifa hospital, the largest in Gaza, to evacuate patients.

Israel occupied the Gaza City hospital last week after fierce fighting, while hundreds of patients and staff remained trapped inside.

We reported on Saturday that hundreds of people had been evacuated. It's thought around 300 critically ill people remained.

Bit more detail on evacuation from Al Shifa

Palestinian Red Crescent says ready to evacuate al-Shifa patients*

The aid group has said on social media that 14 of their ambulances have arrived at the besieged hospital accompanied by members of the UN and humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders.

“Kidney patients will be transferred to Abu Youssef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah and the injured will be transferred to the European Hospital south of Khan Younis,” it posted on Facebook.

Stomacharmeleon · 22/11/2023 10:49

@Parker231 also from those points

  • the list is 300 and 26 are women.
  • most children are 17-18 year old.
  • the age range is 14-59.
stormy4319trevor · 22/11/2023 12:44

The aid checks need to be done by a neutral party. Israel checks every truck, but they are hardly neutral, and we don't know how much aid actually gets in, even if allowed to cross.

Parkingt111 · 22/11/2023 16:35

The bodies of over a 100 palestinians killed by Israeli air strikes in Al Shifa hospital were taken to Khan Younis today to finally be buried
Because there were so many they were all buried together in one big grave.
I would have liked to have mentioned atleast some of the names if I knew as 100 bodies just sounds so distant and cold. Unfortunately no names were mentioned.
Atleast they have finally been buried

Parkingt111 · 22/11/2023 18:39

I have just read that the reason no names were given is nobody knows who they are or where their families are. Sometimes a strike can kill most members of an entire family and one or two found in the rubble are taken to the hospital
The extremely sad thing is some of the unidentified bodies from todays mass burial were children.
The thought that they could have died alone after being injured is heartbreaking.

Stomacharmeleon · 22/11/2023 18:45

@Parkingt111 that's desperately sad.

Readingallnight · 22/11/2023 18:53

How incredibly heartbreaking.
A hole in the ground dug for so many souls who are only guilty of existing in their own country.
Gaza is being turned into one mass graveyard.

This is beyond belief

Israeli army preventing al-Shifa ambulances from evacuating patients

PRCS@PalestineRCS
Five hours have passed, and the evacuation convoy for the wounded and patients from Al-Shifa Hospital is still stranded at the checkpoint separating North and South Gaza. Occupation forces obstruct its passage, conducting thorough inspections of ambulances, putting the lives of the wounded and patients at risk.

Why?!!!
Are they trying to stop injured males through.
They have prevented their evacuation before, but not patients just the walking wounded.

Its this sort of behaviour that could delay negotiations and agreements if the IDF continue to be unreasonable

@Readingallnight IDK these are really sick people with kidney failure and severe spinal injuries

Perhaps they think Palestinian Red Crescent is moving weaponry around for Hamas
Or maybe they're just doing it because they can

The former will be their excuse, the latter will be the real reason, if I had to guess. Everything seems to be explainable with "We suspected/knew Hamas were in the [area/vehicle/building]/Hamas were hiding weapons in [name of place]".

Efacsen · 22/11/2023 21:56

We were both wrong @ChickHenLittle - it's the paramedics who are the 'problem'

At least the patients finally reached safety

PRCS@PalestineRCS
IOF continues to detain three PRCS paramedics who were part of the evacuation convoy of the wounded from Al-Shifa Hospital and one of the wounded's companions, for more than 3 hours in cold weather conditions. The wounded have reached the European Hospital in Khan Younis, and kidney dialysis patients are being transferred to Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah.

Probably they’ll say they belonged to Hamas. That’s what they did the last time some ambulances were targeted

Readingallnight · 22/11/2023 22:50

The IDF have also detained an injured Palestinian in an ambulance in the West Bank.
So now paramedics and the wounded are being removed from ambulances. What is happening to them are they just adding to the masses of people being held in Israel’s prisons.

No hostages released today either. Can’t say I’m surprised. Israel have said none will be released before Friday. I would have thought Netanyahu would have been keen to at least make a show that he cares about getting his own people out.

But he was never interested in them in the first place, that’s been so obvious since the start of negotiations.

How many more mass graves will be dug before this is all over

More on the disrupted medical evacuation

Today, the Palestine Red Crescent and the United Nations teams evacuated 190 wounded and sick people, their companions, and a number of medical teams from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City to other hospitals in the southern part of the #Gaza Strip, while many other wounded and their companions along with the medical staff are still in the hospital.

The wounded were transferred to the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, and the dialysis patients were transferred to Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah.
14 Red Crescent ambulances, two United Nations buses, and other vehicles participated in the evacuation operation.

The evacuation process lasted for almost twenty hours as the convoy was obstructed and subjected to careful inspection while passing through the checkpoint that separates northern and southern Gaza, hence putting the lives of the wounded and sick people in danger.

Furthermore, three paramedics and a companion of a wounded person were detained, the latter and two paramedics were later released, while the third paramedic, colleague Awni Khattab is still detained until this moment.

Yes apologies.
I lost track of time.
I thought it was Thursday when it was Wednesday
Think I’m just desperate along with so many to see something positive happen.
Hostages were originally to be released on Thursday ( that’s today now ) giving Israel citizens 24 hours to consider the names of those to be released by Israel.
Netanyahu has now said none will be released before Friday. So nothing firm as yet and not the Thursday originally agreed

I thought your post was referring to me getting my days wrong.

I did find it an unusual post and wondered if I’d upset you but it seems it wasn’t for me anyway.
Never mind….
