The World Health Organization has confirmed that the 28 premature babies evacuated from the al-Shifa hospital have arrived safely in Egypt.

I don't understand why my post was deleted. Let me put it another way: This is excellent news. But how does it fit in with what you all keep saying about ethnic cleansing? Surely if Israel was hell-bent on ethnic cleansing, evacuating babies would not have been possible?

That’s what happens when the world shows their outrage and Humanitarian Aid agencies come together for the sake of humanity.

I mean they can do both. They're ethnically cleansing a few million but they realise that causing premature babies to die because they stopped power to their incubators looks really really really bad.

So evacuate them and they don't look so bad. Some people might even forget about the ethnic cleansing and genocide! From reading your posts it seems to be working.

Communication blackout in Gaza City again after IDF destroy communication towers won't help any attempts to evacuate very sick patients from the hospital as before

I saw this which is quite worrying
There's also increasing attacks at and around the indonesian hospital
They evacuated 200 patients but many still remaining and some in serious conditions

https://www.reddit.com/r/Palestine/comments/180529b/a_surgeon_in_gaza_had_to_do_an_amputation_surgery/

A surgeon in Gaza had to do an amputation surgery for his own child without anesthesia. Their child then died from the pain.

Horrific scenes in Gaza, the poor surgeon and child. 💔

Readingallnight · 21/11/2023 11:14

The last time Qatar was getting to a resolution on partial ceasefire and hostage release an escalation in attacks stopped those negotiations immediately.
Yesterday it was reported that again they were nearing an agreement and now again we are seeing an increase on attacks.

Every time this happens the chances of any hostages being released are put in the balance.
That’s without even considering whilst no one knows where the hostages are in Gaza continued indiscriminate bombings could also kill their own people.

I think there is no doubt now that Israel was right about Hamas having so little regard for its people it has used them as human shields in breach of international law. We just need to ensure Hamas is never again in a position to do this.

greatsatsuma · 21/11/2023 11:51

I think there is no doubt now that Palestine was right about Israeli govt having so little regard for its people: Israeli govt has committed multiple war crimes in breach of international law, including stealing of Palestinian land, bombing of civilian infrastructure and collective punishment of millions of citizens. We just need to ensure Israeli govt is never again in a position to do this.

greatsatsuma · 21/11/2023 11:52

And yes I absolutely condemn Hamas.

Why are those who are pro-Israeli or pro-Zionist never asked to condemn the IDF?

It's sad that we have to feel the need to qualify any pro-Palestine or anti-Israeli govt post with the fact that we of course condemn Hamas. Because no doubt we will be accused of being pro Hamas unless we do... I mean it's obvious people condemn them, everyone does, but we have to underline it and write it in bold under every post because it's literally the only thing they post on here when confronted with evidence of 80 long years of Israeli govt oppression, apartheid and the lesser rights of the Palestinians.

Could you please provide the evidence, for which there is "no doubt?".

We saw the video footage of the tunnel - I thought every one had seen that and a drone went down it.

Separately, this is a reasonable article in the Financial Times today that might be of interest https://on.ft.com/47i9EVl

Jesus Christ. I couldn't use the link you posted and I was really hoping that this was fake news but I've seen the video of the man elsewhere and that appears to be what happened to him and his child.

It's beyond belief.

Bit confused by this

This morning lots of photos of Jordanian field tent being erected in Khan Younis

This afternoon Israel has told them to take it down which Jordan is refusing to do plus withdrawing their ambassador to Israel and moving troops closer to the Israel-Jordan border

All seems a bit mad

Efacsen · 21/11/2023 15:53

sorry that should say 'field hospital' not 'field tent'

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 16:20

@Efacsen I have read that article from different perspectives or spins and I am not sure....
From an Israeli standpoint they are encouraging other countries to get involved to take away the need to use existing terrorist run hospitals 'Hamas health ministry' etc.

Tbh I am pleased to see a neighbouring country involved in a positive way.
