Obviously nothing can be independently verified at the moment re : Al-shifa etc
However
The telegraph report re cctv footage presented by the IDF I would say
No one disputes people were taken hostage
No one disputes some of those hostages could well have been injured.
Everyone would agree, I’m guessing, that any injured hostages should receive medical attention.
If this cctv footage is real then surely it just shows Hamas took hostages for medical treatment at Al- shifa.

Or am I missing something here.

I think what they’re trying to imply is that the hostages were taken to the hospital to take them to the tunnels under the hospital rather than because they needed medical treatment. That’s what I suspect the daily fake etc are trying to imply.

however, to me there is a swntence that stands out from one of the news :

The IDF said the footage, which could not be independently verified,

Here's more footage alleging to show a hostage being dragged through Al Shifa hospital, with no obvious signs of injury.

@Toothyfruity think we should all screen shot our posts. The deletes are bizarre.

Absolutely. My post that was deleted suggested that the poster who only posts snide comments about details being inaccurate in emerging reports about the hospital should post her own sources if she's concerned about accuracy. No idea why Mumsnet deleted that. Bonkers.

@SomeCatFromJapan thanks
It's always been known there are tunnels under Al shifa hospital because some were built by the Israeli government prior to Hamas coming into power.
Waiting to see what bbc verify and other military analysts have to say

I think that's very wise.

There is a cut in the video at 53/54 seconds. The resolution of the first part is quite high and the camera is steady, presumably a drone. There is also a circle and cross on the screen, presumably to assist in centering the camera. After 54 seconds the resolution drops, the circle and cross disappear and the camera moves as if being held by someone walking.

@Readingallnight exactly what I thought.

I read that somewhere Israel themselves had added tunnels under the hospital BEFORE they left Gaza. So if that were true it hardly proves that the tunnels were Hamas. They could just be ones that Israel had built themselves ages ago.

Absolutely.
The architects for the hospital were Israeli.
Wonder why they can’t ask for the plans.
Im an architect, we keep our drawings for ever

Again.
Would love to get some independent verification.
Doubt we’ll ever be able to have that now.
Are these guys even Hamas.
Who knows.

I really didn’t understand that.
I do however notice that especially Sundays deleted posts are very random and make little sense.

But you know @Toothyfruity that's not all I post. All I suggested was that when in a hurry to post things we should all wait for them to be verified as you are with anything that comes from the IDF.

@Readingallnight that footage to me also (if verified) implies that the medical staff would have known that Hamas were there and also the hostages were there. Something they have failed to mention when being interviewed (although understandably given the terrorist aspect) It shows terrorism being embedded into everyday life as people would have known they were there. Hamas have admitted they were treated in medical facilities.

Just noticed these are the same guys as xenias post earlier just different location

@Stomacharmeleon The medical director will have known exactly what was going on and he denied all of it.

I agree if the doctors and nurses actually know who all Hamas operatives are.
They are not dressed the part, so unless their identities are known it’s not obvious.

@Readingallnight so all the hostages are mute? I think they would understandably stick out like a sore thumb. Particularly as everyone would know they were being looked for.

Maybe it’s not a hostage.
Maybe they are not Hamas
Maybe the director general and all the doctors are Hamas

We know nothing

@Stomacharmeleon I think your questions are valid questions as are questions on the other side.
I'm hoping to hopefully see these answered and more clarity given on the situation

Readingallnight · 19/11/2023 22:08

Why didn’t Hamas cover over the cameras at the main entrance of all places.
Plus the two other areas these recent images have come from.
IDF commander said taping over the cameras was evidence Hamas were there.

Hamas have proved to be very good at hiding, so why be so stupid and forget the front entrance cameras.

Transcript below comes from the first info the IDF presented after going into Al-shift.

The paediatric specialist at the Emirati hospital where the babies have been moved to has said 8 died in the last few days due to the sub standard conditions. They had vomiting, diarrhoea and blood poisoning 😭 They are now 4 babies per 1 bed.

Stomacharmeleon · 19/11/2023 22:16

@Readingallnight I don't think Hamas had any idea they would be so successful with taking people back or that they would get elderly, ill and badly injured. If they were told to keep them alive at all costs they would take them to the hospital?

Just shows that people were complicit though. For whatever reasons.

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle with all of this.

Stomacharmeleon · 19/11/2023 22:19

We KNOW that some hostages have been there though.
Hamas said that.
And the bodies were found in the vicinity and they released footage.
I am not sure how much more you want?

That's so terribly sad. Poor babies. I really hope the other babies will be OK. 4 to a bed after all they've suffered doesn't sound good. I hope they can move to Egypt as nowhere is functioning or safe in Gaza.

Here's more footage alleging to show a hostage being dragged through Al Shifa hospital, with no obvious signs of injury.

I really don't understand what this is supposed to prove? The reason we were told Israel were murdering premature babies, people in ICU and medical staff was because Hamas HQ, their command centre was underneath the hospital. This is why we were told they spent days committing acts of terror around the hospital. What is this video? How does it relate to Hamas HQ? Even if this is what it purports to be how does this justify murdering premature babies?

It's almost like they are trying to make people forget that they said they had proof that the command centre was located below the hospital and that was why they had no choice but to terrorise medics and patients. Where is the command centre? Where are these hostages? Why have Israel spent days terrorising people at a hospital and appear to have nothing tangible at all to show for it? Why did Israel lie about having proof and why are the UK and US governments not asking these questions? If Israel lied about something as huge as having proof that the command centre was under the hospital in order to have free reign to terrorise medics and patients then what else are they lying about? How can Western democratic countries stand beside a country that commits such atrocities without even owning up to the fact that they lied about it and killed vulnerable people for no reason at all?

Taking the injured to hospital is the right thing to do, of course.

Are these images of that though….we just don’t know….especially with IDF reports conflicting at the moment.

Does it prove doctors were aware they were treating Hamas victims, who knows. ( many immediate relatives of members of the IRA had no idea they were in the IRA )

Whilst it’s possible, it’s not like they are dressed like fighters or carrying guns in the footage shown.
Let’s not forget also there were many foreign doctors and nurses at Al-shifa including Brits who said that Al-shifa was not used as a Hamas base. Now, they also could be lieing …..we just don’t know.

Although I’m more inclined to believe independent evidence and statements. As I’m sure anyone verifying everything coming from the IDF are also looking at.

I just wanted to thank everyone posting on here. Very articulate, much more than me . Some things are such a hard read and there is no doubt the Israeli Govt would much prefer things were out of sight, out of mind.

People I work with are starting to comment on how they can't watch news or can't sleep at night . The more we talk about it the better.

I reported earlier an incorrect figure for the number of Journalists killed in the conflict.
It now stands at 48 along with many family members.

There has also been further attacks both on and around the Indonesian hospital with one doctor reported injured.
Many Palestinians are taking refuge there and a fire was reported at the hospital as well as bombing and gunfire in the near vicinity.

Presumably everyone will be required to evacuate soon just like everywhere else.
Things seem to be ramping up in a desperate attempt to rid the area of all Palestinians
