Just reading back a bit, they've given the hospital 1 hour to evacuate, and then what? They're going to bomb it? Oh my

Your right. It’s not going to be the same.

This is also causing us extreme danger. We are not the good guys. I know things aren’t that simple as good vs bad but that’s always been the bottom line of this. Eastern dictators bad vs western good, or Islamic terrorists bad vs democratic and civilised Christian countries good. UK public whilst at times have scandalous politicians but would never think they would sit back during genocide and children slaughtered. On the whole our government have held up atleast the illusion of moral standing.

Thats all down the pan. I bet you China will move in Taiwan within the year. How on earth can we say anything about Russia now without being hypocrites. Putin practically looks like a saint in comparison to this. Terrorism in our country will grow. Prevent must be having a field day right now.

Globally No one’s ever going to listen or respect anything the U.K. or US say ever again. I have absolutely no idea what our governments are thinking. Biden is ancient so can’t function and Rishi is too rattled about his own ministerial status to focus (hint to rishi - no one gives a fuck about your Tory squabbles at the moment!).

This is also so dangerous for innocent Jewish people. There will be people who want to take revenge for this.

I can’t believe this has happened/ is happening. History will not be whitewashed this time. There’s too much evidence. We are now the bad guys.

I feel the world isn't going to be the same after this. How can a supposedly civil, democratic state be acting in this way?

Sorry the long reply above was meant to be to you.

I agree

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 13:53

@Artwhatttt@feralunderclass you are right. There is no going back from this. And the effects will be and are being felt globally. This is not just about Palestine and Israel. The response from our governments will have a negative long lasting impact for years to come. The paradigms of right and wrong have shifted, and the western governments can no longer hold the moral high ground. The next time they try and reign in an aggressive response by another country this will be thrown back in their faces. Nobody is winning here. Its a lose lose situation for everyone

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 14:03

@SomeCatFromJapan Putin is just as bad. His faux concern for the Palestinians is nothing more than what serves his own political interests

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 14:09

There are now no more functioning hospitals remaining in the North of Gaza. Those who didn't manage to escape and are injured now or in the near future will most likely die a painful death from their injuries

SomeCatFromJapan · 18/11/2023 14:09

@Parkingt111 leaving aside all else, it's just shit that by an accident of birth you might wind up somewhere where instead of living in peace and safety, you are terrorised and killed over something that you have zero control over, and there are politicians in charge the world over who are perfectly happy with this.

Found on twitter. What the Israeli govt are saying about palestinians / palestine. Examples include:

"The emphasis is on damage and not on accuracy" (Daniel Hagari)
"The children of Gaza bought this upon themselves" (Merav Ben-Ari)
"Human animals must be treated as such" (Ghassan Alion)

And many more.

Edited

The world needs to see these and be reminded every time someone says Israel is a civil state. As the saying on MN goes, "when someone tells you something about themselves, believe them".

Sorry the long reply above was meant to be to you.

I agree

To be fare I don’t think those who lost their countries, their homes and their land during the colonial period and in the case of Ireland ( at least ) right up into the 20th century as well as those who were enslaved by the U.K. have ever considered us to be the good guys.

I agree there is now ( or was ) that perception to the wider world not affected and I agree that will / is changing.

they do see it , legitimise it and applaud it , remember posters on these threads shouting this is what happens in War and the Israeli Government is defending itself ?

I just can’t even begin to think how anybody can justify what happened today at Al Shifa ,
6 dialysis patients and 22 ICU patients all killed .

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 16:07

@SomeCatFromJapan it really is rubbish isn't it 💔

SomeCatFromJapan · 18/11/2023 16:14

@Parkingt111 it is, and then not only is all of that happening but the knock-on effect is everyone winds up hating each other and shouting at each other.

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 16:40

It's being reported that approximately 120 patients along with a few doctors remain at Al shifa hospital
The WHO are saying the remaining patients which include babies are critically ill and its impossible to evacuate them on foot. Specialist ambulances are needed.
Most of the babies are orphans with no known family to look after them. I did see a previous report of the director of the hospital who requested for the IDF to safely evacuate the babies out of Gaza so they can recieve the treatment they need. This was when the Al shifa raid first happened. So far nothing has materialised and the babies and patients remain in a dire situation.

feralunderclass · 18/11/2023 16:45

Breaking news: Shaina Low of Norwegian Refugee Council says that Israel have taken over Al Shifa hospital and have turned it into a military Base and detention centre.

At least 50 dead at the UN school.
No idea what will happen to all the injured as there’s no working hospital.

Egypt I believe has been the first to condemn it calling it a war crime that needs to be investigated

feralunderclass · 18/11/2023 17:06

Mass grave is being dug at Indonesian hospital to try to prevent decaying, bloated bodies from causing a health hazard 💔

Medical aid for Palestine are reporting their staff fled on foot from Al shifa hospital with some patients in the war zone.
They have also said that only 35 babies are now alive. Yesterday it was 36 which means another baby has sadly passed away.

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 19:17

Does anyone have any clarity on the incubators? So medical aid for Palestine have tweeted that the babies are still not in incubators because of the lack of fuel
I believe someone mentioned yesterday that the Israeli incubators that they were bringing did not require fuel to run them.
I have yet to see any images of the babies back in the incubators. I have also yet to see any confirmation from the Israeli side that they have delivered the incubators. I do know there was the image of medical supplies but none of actual incubators being delivered

Parkingt111 · 18/11/2023 19:18

If anyone has any further information then please do share

queenofarles · 18/11/2023 19:41

Doctors were made to leave and the babies are still at the hospital .

The incubators offered were for travel purposes only ie to evacuate the hospital
They are battery operated and only last for 2 hours.
This would not be long enough to get to safety and Al-shifa awaited information from Israel on how the movement of the babies would happen as civilians were being shot at as they left.
Theydid not receive the information or the incubators.

Israel said the doctors refused the incubators

Heres one article with relevant text from Reuters

I tried looking up incubators that don’t require electricity, but could only find some designed for countries where there are power cuts, meaning that they still needed electricity but could go on functioning for a while if there is a power cut.

Dors anyone know more about the claim that the Israelis delivered incubators that wouldn’t need fuel/electricity?
