Doctors were made to leave and the babies are still at the hospital .

5 doctors remained with the babies and those too critical to move

I tried looking up incubators that don’t require electricity, but could only find some designed for countries where there are power cuts, meaning that they still needed electricity but could go on functioning for a while if there is a power cut.

Dors anyone know more about the claim that the Israelis delivered incubators that wouldn’t need fuel/electricity?

@Readingallnight thank you for that clarification. So it is correct then. Despite invading and taking over Alshifa hospital they still didn't allow even enough fuel to allow the doctors to put the babies back in to the incubators. And now another baby has passed away.
So they made a big show of the incubators but so far it has been of no use
What a shame and waste of precious life

Exactly.
Now anyone left at that hospital has been left to die

yes but later today 22 ICU patients and 6 Dialysis patients died, no idea if more premature babies died this evening ,
Honestly death is more peaceful to those who were left behind than a slow painful death , I can’t even begin to imagine the pain these dialysis patients had to endure these last few days.

From Twitter - looks like Israel are escalating their attacks

Breaking: Israel 🇮🇱 prime minister and defense minister stated that Hamas leaders in Qatar 🇶🇦 will be killed.

Defense Minister Gallant: “We don't distinguish between Hamas terrorists with AK-47 in Gaza, and terrorists with suits in lavish hotels. We will eliminate them all.”

Thank you, I have read that now. Thanks for that Reuters explanation which is very clear.

Will this be an all out ferocious massacre now.
Reports suggested they have about 2weeks before their ‘supporters’ will be forced to condemn their actions.
Or at least deny support, ie US , UK. ……..
Due to public outcry

A lot can happen, many people can be killed in just two weeks and it looks less and less likely that Israel will ever agree to a ceasefire for hostage exchange.
Did we ever think they would!

There would be a “significant pause” in the Israel-Hamas war if hostages held by Hamas on Gaza are freed, a US official said.
Speaking at a security conference in Bahrain on Saturday, US president Joe Biden’s main Middle East advisor, Brett McGurk, said:
“The surge in humanitarian relief, the surge in fuel, the pause... will come when hostages are released,” Agence France-Presse reports.
He added that the humanitarian situation in Gaza was “horrific” and “intolerable.”

Is this the US saying that civilians will be punished until the hostages are released? It does sound like it.

but what will they achieve by mass killing? Hoping that one of the hundreds killed everyday is a Hamas member? Do they even know where they are? Do they know what they look like? Did they find the tunnels? Do they know where are the hostages at?

This isn't about Hamas. It's never been about Hamas. It's about ethnically cleansing Gaza.

From The Times of Israel
about the two dead Hamas hostages:

“On Thursday evening, the Israel Defense Forces said troops had located the body of Yehudit Weiss in a building near the medical center’s compound. On Friday morning, the IDF said it had also recovered the body of Cpl. Noa Marciano a day earlier from another building adjacent to Shifa, three days after announcing she had been killed in Hamas captivity.”
https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-says-hostages-body-recovered-near-gazas-shifa-hospital-after-hamas-killed-her/

The article says Yehudit Weiss was killed by Hamas.

Does anyone know more precise details? Why mightn’t they have been killed, like other Palestinians, by the general attacks and shell fire?

If they really were found near Al Shifa, might they have been having some sort of treatment by doctors there?

If they were killed elsewhere might they have been moved near Al Shifa by the IDF? Or not really found there.

queenofarles · 18/11/2023 20:53

And we’ve known that all along Lobster
And that’s why Israel is rejecting all hostage release negotiations . Yet the fools keep repeating free the hostages and all this will be over, yea right , 🙄.

TokyoSushi · 18/11/2023 23:01

This just gets worse and worse, I can't believe just a few short weeks ago western leaders were queuing up to get to Tel Aviv to support Israel in doing this, and even now they mostly stand idly by muttering something about Israel having the right to defend itself.

As I said this morning, I'm not sure it's going to be possible to release the hostages, so what then?

Yes, the acts of October 7th were abhorrent and Israel does have the right to defend itself, but not like this. Surely, not like this?

This is the US saying it’s all down to Hamas.
If more civilians are killed it is because Hamas are aren’t releasing hostages,
However
We all know there have been many negotiations on hostage release.
The one that was nearing a solution came to a complete stop when Israel invaded Palestine on foot and increased their bombing.

This is the US diverting blame

@TokyoSushi I think they will destroy the south as they have the north and probably kill a lot more people. After that, it's hard to say really, Disease, famine, lack of water may practically wipe the population out. At some point a few countries may offer to take some as refugees. Gaza will become part of Israel, then they will take the west bank. I'm hoping there will be some intervention before it gets to that point, of course, but that's how it looks to me at the moment.

If Israel wants to defend themselves they should be standing on their own borders to do so.
This isn’t about defence

Yes, but I think the US is also endorsing collective punishment, saying there will be no significant help for civilians until all hostages are released.

stormy4319trevor · 18/11/2023 23:44

But it's all empty rhetoric really, I suppose @Readingallnight I'm sure US knows Hamas won't just hand them over and Israel won't stop.

Or has Biden had a knock to the head like Henry viii and gone on a mad murder rampage
