Are we really just going to just let this happen. I was upset about the protest ban in France but at least he has finally spoken up. When is the UK going to finally say something and stop letting this happen in our name.

This is the moment we have been warning the whole world the Gaza Deputy Health Minister Dr. Youssef Abu Alreesh, currently inside al-Shifa Hospital as it is takes heavy fire from Israeli forces.
Here are his translated comments:

  • This is the moment we have been warning the whole world of, all generators are off, all power sources are out.
  • We have 39 newborns in the incubators, those babies are fighting against death.
  • No one is able to move around the compound, snipers are stationed all over the place in addition to the drones that target and kill any moving person.
  • A few minutes ago one of the engineering team was hit by a sniper, he was hit in the neck and was paralysed and he’s now about to die.
  • Part of the hospital was shelled and part of the building caught fire, we fear it will engulf the whole compound.
  • A few families tried to leave but they were targeted; now they are lying dead outside the hospital. We cannot get to them.
  • We are totally stranded, we are cut off from the outside world, and above all, we are left without any medical resources. We cannot even bury the dead.
  • Ferocious gunfire can be heard within the vicinity of the hospital, the intensive care unit received a mortar shell a few minutes ago.
  • Blood is everywhere, on the floor, we cannot even clean it.
  • In the past, the Israeli killing machine was killing and this was conveyed on TV screens. Now they are perpetrating the same killing but no one is listening, no one is watching, the whole world is standing by.
  • We are speaking with whatever is left of my phone battery, after that, we will be silent.

I assume they had their reasons, I mean it would be in their favour to allow that so there must be a good reason they didn't.

Examples: when they entered they could have been ambushed.

Then if he was injured in cross fire they would be criticised for the death of an independent reporter.

Maybe they know something about him that made him not the right person.

Maybe they don't want other people telling them how to do their job.

And it doesn't matter what evidence they provide, the haters will still say it was made up of planted. Even if he'd gone in with them, people would say they edited his footage or they had snuck in and planted the evidence beforehand or something.

"The haters".

🤦🏽‍♀️

I don't know if it will be widely believed (I hope any of their fakes aren't).
Even BBC is reporting how fuel is only just entering Gaza after being blocked by Israel. They've also included how the IDF brought incubators and baby food to the hospital, but incubators aren't needed - the babies have been taken out their existing incubators due to lack of fuel to run them.
They've reported that all men aged between 16-40 are being told to go to the hospital courtyard and the IDF are firing warning shots to get them out. How bloody ominous.

The incubators going in are reported to not need power.

www.cnn.com/2023/10/25/business/baby-incubators-israel-gaza/index.html

There is still fuel because rockets are still being fired on Israel. Mobile phones are clearly still being charged.

Men between 16-40 is to screen out Hamas members and the people most likely to kick off and turn a search into a fight.

Firing shots in the air is not ideal but this is a war in the middle east, not closing time down the pub. The Palestinians fire guns in the air for most of their celebrations so it's hardly new to them.

ChickHenLittle · 15/11/2023 20:51

Hopefully this too little too late gesture will help the babies who haven't already died due to the Israeli government fuel blockades. Unfortunately I'm not hopeful.

Mobile phones being charged and rockets bring fired means there is still fuel for incubators and other essential equipment? I feel like my arm will break if I attempt to make that stretch. If Hamas have fuel, what makes you think civilians do?

I think I'd "kick off" if the IDF treated me like that. I don't imagine they quickly ascertained those men weren't in Hamas then let them go.

I must have missed the gun memo, we usually just use balloons, candles, the usual, but you seem to know more than me.

@notsoready4school what do they need to show you if there are tunnels? If you won't accept pictures and film of tunnels? Luckily the worlds intelligence doesn't have to be run past you and other conspiracy theorists.

So no tunnels but omg look at the mass of guns. Definitely a command centre. It really does seem all justified now, I wonder if US might share their intelligence as well because although the guns were damning evidence, it would be great to see how they detected them from so far away.

Hear it’s the tip of the iceberg though. We might need to give them a day or so to layout the rest of the evidence they unload from the trucks so we can get the rest of the evidence.

It never mattered though did it. Everyone knew what they were doing was wrong and all the people who know wrong from right still know and the ones who didn’t are happy with these absurd images even though they should insult most peoples intelligence.

@notsoready4school the BBC made a good point. What the IDF have shown so far is not much in terms of proof and if they had more should they not show it considering the huge criticism they have recieved on the Al shifa raid.

"But it seems likely that the army would want to show the maximum at this point, to justify its assault on the hospital."

Stomacharmeleon · 15/11/2023 21:27

It's been 24 hours and Hamas themselves have said they have hundreds of miles of tunnels. The IDF don't owe the media massive a super fast explanation they owe a thorough one.
As long as Israel keep up dialogue with Qatar, America and other nations I remain every hopeful they are getting closer to the hostages. Especially the babies and the lady who will have given birth.

stormy4319trevor · 15/11/2023 21:31

If Israel built the tunnels under the hospital, why would Hamas use them? It doesn't make sense, they would know they'd be discovered as Israel would have the original plans of when they built the hospital and tunnels.

"Israeli soldiers claim to have found an AK47 and grenades hidden behind an MRI scanner during a raid on the Al Shifa hospital.
Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, spokesman for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) exhibited the weapons he claimed belonged to Hamas in video footage purportedly taken inside the hospital.
Other pictures show guns, ammunition and body armour which the IDF said were also found in the raid by its elite Shaldag unit and 36th division.
“These findings unequivocally prove that the hospital was used for terror, in complete violation of international law,” spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said.
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has denied the claims, saying no weapons were found in the raid."

Except it’s not funny because people are actually dying.

stormy4319trevor · 15/11/2023 21:50

It's on the wiki page about Al Shifa hospital. In 1983 Israeli architects designed and built a 'secure underground operating room and tunnel network.' I don't know, seems like the first place the IDF would look, bit silly to operate out of there.

PurpleCrocs3 · 15/11/2023 21:51

I hope no one was using that mri scanner 🙄

AllWeWantToDo · 15/11/2023 22:02

And we are supposed to believe they are so stupid that they hid grenades behind an MRI scanner. Really

Roste · 15/11/2023 22:06

@OneHurtSpaggettio they’ll be saying they’ve found a kids sling shot and some placards saying Down with Israel next.
The current Israeli government think the world is populated by gullible fools and their never ending stream of bs shows their utter contempt for the rest of humanity.

I think you will be surprised how many will. I can’t recall but there was one posters who suggested this could be the tipping point for her but I’m guessing these pictures hit the spot. They do the bare minimum to just keep the facade and ppl who want to believe are happy with that. It’s just enough for them

US intelligence huh, amazing. They can deduct a handful of guns 1000s of miles away but it can get to this in their own back yard before they discover it.

And on their way to get to the babies and the lady, the IDF have murdered over 10000 Palestinians ( nearly half of them babies and children), bombed Gaza to ruins, deprived the population of the basic necessity for sustaining life and so on.
Do you think it is morally right and totally justified?

Can you please explain how diesel is used as rocket fuel?

Parkingt111 · 16/11/2023 10:25

The BBC have been allowed in Al shifa hospital with the IDF. This is the conclusion of their report. The destruction around is so severe it looks like an earthquake zone.

After almost 24 hours securing and searching the hospital, Israel says it has found weapons and other equipment that could help provide information on both Hamas fighters and the hostages. But it has its hands on neither.

We leave the hospital, and rumble down the wide avenue that leads to Gaza's coastal road. Gaza City is now ruled by tanks. The ghostly avenues look in places like an earthquake zone, the destruction is so severe.

It is clear what it took for Israel to get control of these streets.

firstpasttheposter · 16/11/2023 10:29

How horrific that Hamas use a hospital as their headquarters. A ceasefire is impossible now, because then other groups will get the idea that using hospitals to hide weapons is a good way to deter the enemy. But why was more not done by the international community to airlift patients and doctors to safety? We've known about this for weeks! There must never be another war like this again. How did the situation in Israel/Gaza reach this all time low?

Xenia · 16/11/2023 10:34

first because time after time its arab neighbours and Palestinians who are against the state of Israel act forcefully against Israel and/or invade it. If they left it in peace it would be fine. Indeed until Hamas decided to wreck the Israel/Saudi deal https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/09/1141302 (which is hopefully not wrecked) Israel's neighbours were at last accepted the democratic nation was here to stay -

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday that Israel is at the cusp of a “dramatic breakthrough”: a historic peace deal between his country and Saudi Arabia.

Edited

The latest news, Herzog comments suggest that this is how it will stay for a long while. Probably with no more hospitals either as all the Palestinians will be forced south with no permission to come back. North Gaza will remain a disaster zone with rubble everywhere and Israel’s ‘strong force’. The only way Israelis feel safe is if they oppress and destroy Palestinians. The only ‘democracy’ in the world where oppression is the foundation of its existence.
