Are we really just going to just let this happen. I was upset about the protest ban in France but at least he has finally spoken up. When is the UK going to finally say something and stop letting this happen in our name.

This is the moment we have been warning the whole world the Gaza Deputy Health Minister Dr. Youssef Abu Alreesh, currently inside al-Shifa Hospital as it is takes heavy fire from Israeli forces.
Here are his translated comments:

  • This is the moment we have been warning the whole world of, all generators are off, all power sources are out.
  • We have 39 newborns in the incubators, those babies are fighting against death.
  • No one is able to move around the compound, snipers are stationed all over the place in addition to the drones that target and kill any moving person.
  • A few minutes ago one of the engineering team was hit by a sniper, he was hit in the neck and was paralysed and he’s now about to die.
  • Part of the hospital was shelled and part of the building caught fire, we fear it will engulf the whole compound.
  • A few families tried to leave but they were targeted; now they are lying dead outside the hospital. We cannot get to them.
  • We are totally stranded, we are cut off from the outside world, and above all, we are left without any medical resources. We cannot even bury the dead.
  • Ferocious gunfire can be heard within the vicinity of the hospital, the intensive care unit received a mortar shell a few minutes ago.
  • Blood is everywhere, on the floor, we cannot even clean it.
  • In the past, the Israeli killing machine was killing and this was conveyed on TV screens. Now they are perpetrating the same killing but no one is listening, no one is watching, the whole world is standing by.
  • We are speaking with whatever is left of my phone battery, after that, we will be silent.

I keep skimming different news any news to see maybe now someone will say something, maybe now Biden will intervene, maybe now Sunak will say enough.

Nothing, not even something as lame as expressions of mild disappointment at the uncomfortable situation the hospital is going through.

I feel like a die a new death every day. It's like the longest bereavement ever. I don't think any of us will ever be the same person again.

notsoready4school · 12/11/2023 22:21

A poster earlier was saying maybe that this hospital situation would be a tipping point (for them) to finally realise something is wrong. I fear from how things are it will just be a boiled frog situation. Lines are being crossed and crossed and news released by authorities is so untrue and doctored that people are just willing to overlook anything that goes against the narrative they are following. Maybe even this won’t wake them up, even if all 40 babies die and they uncover a hospital full of dead people, we will see an image of a handful of rockets and announcements of we got x member of Hamas and somehow to them it will be worth it. These 40 lives who had yet to feel a warm safe cuddle a day in their lives were worth so little.

I don’t know if you guys went to the march but I really recommend going to the next one. It was incredibly emotional being there with such a large group of people who feel the same way (I cried - more than once); it stops you feel like you’re going insane watching the most inexcusable, vile atrocities being committed whilst people wait to respond with their clipboard of excuses, because all of a sudden you realise just how many other people are seeing what you’re seeing.

I walked shoulder to shoulder with people of all ages and walks of life. I hope that the people of Gaza who are suffocating in a man-made hell have seen how many of us came out for them.

I just saw this video and thought I would share:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzYm0thP9MR/?igshid=bWEzNnhtMDh3M2M5

Half of my family are doctors, with one of them having worked in ICU for 20 years. None of us can believe what we are seeing.

IDF & Israeli govt are still playing their games of humiliation. Three babies that were in the incubators have now died.

From the Guardian:

The Associated Press has this update on al-Shifa hospital, where the last generator ran out of fuel Saturday, leading to the deaths of three premature babies and four other patients, according to the Health Ministry.

It said another 36 babies are at risk of dying.

Israel’s military asserted it placed 300 liters (79 gallons) of fuel near Shifa overnight for an emergency generator powering incubators for premature babies and coordinated the delivery with hospital officials. “Sadly, they haven’t taken the fuel yet,” spokesperson Lt. Col. Richard Hecht said. He said if this fuel doesn’t work, they will seek “other solutions for the babies.”

A Health Ministry spokesperson, Ashraf al-Qidra, told Al Jazeera the fuel would not be enough to operate the generator an hour. “This is a mockery towards the patients and children,” Al-Qidra said.

I know exactly what you mean re the march, I have been going to them all. The time at the march are the few moments in all of this that I feel something different to just dread, I feel somewhat consoled. it almost feels selfish being there.

i have just seen Netanyahus latest statements. I fear even more for the Palestinians, when does this stop.

Biden has lost control of him altogether.

Anyone have any news on the 36 babies? Poor little mites, surrounded by war and death. They are a small part of the suffering, but can't get them out of my mind.

Parkingt111 · 13/11/2023 15:08

@stormy4319trevor I have been searching for updates on the babies too

This is the latest from the guardian. It's extremely upsetting to read. I pray there is some miracle and they are saved

Dr Mohamed Tabasha, head of the paediatric department at al-Shifa hospital, has spoken to Reuters in a telephone interview. He told the news agency:
Yesterday I had 39 babies and today they have become 36. I cannot say how long they can last. I can lose another two babies today, or in an hour. I never expected in my life that I would put 39 babies side by side on a bed, each with a different disease, and in this acute shortage of medical staff, of milk.He told Reuters that the infants are too cold, and the temperature is not stable because of power cuts. In the absence of infection control measures, they are transmitting viruses to each other and they have no immunity, he said.
He said there was no longer any way of sterilising their milk and bottle teats to the required standard, and as a result, some had contracted gastritis and were suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting, which meant an acute risk of dehydration.

stormy4319trevor · 13/11/2023 15:11

@Parkingt111 Let's pray for the miracle. I wrote to my MP about this, not sure who else to contact. It's unconscionable to leave the babies to die like this.

Thank you for posting @Parkingt111, it is beyond comprehension that this is allowed to happen and that the Israeli government and IDF won’t be prosecuted for their role in these tiny deaths. I hope I see these people tried as war crimes in our lifetime, along with Hamas. I hope they put them all together in the same prison cells until their dying day.

“The IDF released a video it said showed soldiers delivering the jerry cans to a curbside location near the hospital entrance. It also released an audio recording, purportedly of a hospital official accusing a Hamas leader at the health ministry of refusing to allow it to be collected.

Abu Salmiya said it was the presence of Israeli tanks that had prevented collection.
“Of course, my paramedic team was completely afraid to go out,” he said, adding: “We want every drop of fuel, but I told (the IDF) that it should be sent through the International Red Cross or through any international institution.””

The Red Cross has already confirmed that the hospital is surrounded by tanks.

@OneHurtSpaggettio they also confirmed how much fuel it was 300 litres which will be enough to run the equipment needed for half an hour!
I didn't believe it when I first saw it but then they confirmed it themselves. It's sickening and cruel
Like I said on another thread, it's like throwing a paracetamol at someone you just shot and then expecting them to be grateful for it

notsoready4school · 13/11/2023 16:07

I saw some French lawyer Gilles Dévers is taking a case to the ICC with the support of 300 lawyers. I did some digging but it appears he / another had tried a few years ago but it was not allowed to be submitted by the western powers.

I couldn’t tell how much truth or substance there is to this news as it was all in French but I hope it’s not just fake news. This translated quote from him was really moving. “you did not have anyone to defend you, but now you have an army to defend you in national and international courts"

In any case though it’s definitely not going to help these little angels but maybe there will be justice and then peace in time.

I completely agree.

I’ve just seen this:
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna125053

So the Israeli govt/IDF are still playing games with medical staff. This time offering incubators that can’t be powered. They’re utterly sick-minded.

The fact that our government bank rolls this far-right foreign government and actively covers up their horrors makes me feel awful. Our ridiculously high taxes that are forcing many in this country into homelessness are now guarding the Israeli govt so that they can carry out their genocide in peace.

The US govt is no more reliable in this war than the Israeli govt. Israel is a US proxy state. They don’t give billions in military aid out of the goodness of their hearts.

TheABC · 14/11/2023 21:25

Is there any way we (international community) can airlift the babies and sick people out? No one should be in that situation in the first place but if the patients are safe elsewhere, then the able-bodied might be able to leave when next given the evacuation signal.

I'm clutching at straws, I know.

The White House also said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq !

I don’t believe a single word out of the US or Israel’s mouths. They are both fucking evil. They have been invited in to see for themselves but that doesn’t suit their genocidal plans. There is no neutral or international source to back this up. It’s all propaganda. Meanwhile the war crimes keep piling up.

notsoready4school · 14/11/2023 23:39

I do wonder what this undisclosed ‘intelligence’ US can suddenly have of something 200m below / inside Al Shifa hospital that no one else on the ground or even near by has. And something so concrete to justify hospital violence

i guess we will never see the ‘evidence’ (btw I’m impressed BBC is also using the word evidence in quotes when referring to the IDF evidence relating to these allegations - I’m guessing they are learning the Israeli way !)

International doctors and nurses working at the hospital have said that there is no Hamas presence there. The Israelis said that they would target hospitals and shelters, before they attacked.

But naive people still believe what they are now saying. Israel targets civilians, including the most vulnerable, as a matter of strategy, they've said in the past that they don't care how many civilians are killed by their bombing.

Netanyahu has referred to the Bible, using stories of the Israelites killing every living thing, when Israel first came into being, as justification for what they're doing now.

The Twitter link earlier had some general in a car, telling the troops to wipe out children and grandmothers; still people pretend that it's all accidental and the fault of Hamas, rather than those choosing targets and pulling the triggers.

To avoid misunderstanding - I'm referring to the Israeli government and the IDF.

notsoready4school · 15/11/2023 10:01

I am just waiting for the inevitable doctored images by IDF that will first make headlines and be widely circulated by Israel and their bots to them only quietly be dismissed as fake. Of course Biden can then pipe up he has ‘seen these weapons and command centre with his own eyes’ to then quietly be confirmed that was something else.

After such a build up there is no way out of this for IDF but to circulate fakes

OP posts:
ChickHenLittle · 15/11/2023 10:06

I don't know if it will be widely believed (I hope any of their fakes aren't).
Even BBC is reporting how fuel is only just entering Gaza after being blocked by Israel. They've also included how the IDF brought incubators and baby food to the hospital, but incubators aren't needed - the babies have been taken out their existing incubators due to lack of fuel to run them.
They've reported that all men aged between 16-40 are being told to go to the hospital courtyard and the IDF are firing warning shots to get them out. How bloody ominous.
