To think Israel won't exist much longer?

Support in the west is declining, and when Israel doesn't have weapons and defense funding they won't be able to defend against their neighbouring countries on their own. AIBU to wonder how much longer it can exist given they are losing support?

The Hamas leaders aren't prepared to die. That's why they're living it up on their billions in Qatar. The Hamas fighters aren't so prepared to die that they won't do all their shooting and rocket-launching from behind children and hostages. True freedom fighters don't attack civilians and hide behind them.

they all die in the process which only inspires the more until current aggressor accept the existace of palastein

Peterpiperspickledpepper · 28/10/2023 22:27

@ThinkWise Current aggressor ? I think you mean Hamas ?

Oh right, so you're unaware that they've been firing rockets into Israel on a daily basis for three weeks? Easy mistake to make seeing as no one ever bothers reporting it. But now that you're aware, I look forward to hearing you refer to them as terrorists rather than freedom fighters from now on, and acknowledge that this shit-show is their doing.

"Don't assume that purple haired people with Palestine flags in their twitter bios represent the majority of public opinion"

According to Yougov poll 76% of British people want a ceasefire.

The Israeli government actions will breed new waves of antisemitism as unfortunately there are people who can't discriminate between the government and ordinary people.

25milesfromhome · 28/10/2023 23:07

@Milkandhoneybees I’d be very surprised if we see Israel absorbed in our lifetime, but it will happen at some point in the next couple of centuries.

@Milkandhoneybees What will Israel be absorbed into?

Inauthentic · 28/10/2023 23:13

To think Israel won't exist much longer?

Israel is too powerful and has too powerful allies to stop exist.

But its goverment and its recent action will attract even more hate from all over the world.

Myself and others have answered this multiple times over various threads including this one.

"the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group."

Israel isn't deliberately killing a large number of people except for Hamas, and they don't have the stated aim of destroying Palestine.

Not sure what more I can say on the matter, really. Plenty of experts agree with that assessment. Or rather, I agree with their assessment.

I believe they are deliberately bombing civilians- they know civilians are in the proximity of their bombs, it seems you believe their excuses. Sleep well.

Sure, but Hamas are terrorists to everyone.

Are they? Do the palestinians think they're terrorists?

Reported this post about Hamas ‘freedom fighters’. This board goes from bad to worse.

I never said Hamas were freedom fighters. I was just quoting. Think it's been taken out of context. Just for clarification, I consider Hamas to be terrorists.

That wasn't addressing yours, I honestly felt every freedom figting nation do also make extremists though.

Wow, you really are brainwashed by the western governments aren’t you. Israel absolutely are carpet bombing Gaza and targeting it indiscriminately. They are guilty of collective punishment, which is a war crime, they are using white phosphorus, which is a war crime. They are slaughtering the old, the sick, the women, children and babies who have nowhere to escape to…..are you really ok with that ?? The Israeli government and the IDF are war criminals.

It is legal to use white phosphorous for marking out enemy positions, for illumination and as a smoke screen. The Israelis have categorically denied using white phosphorous munitions in this conflict but using them is considered legal if they are being used against a legitimate military target. Obviously you won't believe the Israelis but what you have stated is simply wrong.

Israel has spent the last two weeks telling people in the north of Gaza to move south for their own safety. They have used text messages, phone calls, arabic social media, leaflet drops from the air. In response, Hamas has tried to prevent people moving south by putting up road blocks and threatening to shoot them. Why? Because the people of Gaza have no worth to Hamas other than as human shields.

Why have Israel told people to move South and then bombed the South? You say yourself they have made a lot of efforts to get people to move South, do you think they were luring them down there to make it easier to kill more people at once or what do you think the thinking behind it was?

Good question, I think this depends largely on which country succeeds the US. The US economy is lagging and China is looking to overtake them by 2050, so it’s most likely to be them. If China becomes the new master, things will likely look very different for Israel.

Israel has said it has continued to bomb military targets in the south. They haven't been secretive about that. What they have said to Gazan civilians is that the north is not safe

I don't have any other information so I can't speculate. There is certainly no evidence that Israel is attempting to lure Gazan civilians anywhere in order to make it easier to kill them.

They have bombed Israeli designated safe spaces in the south
Ie the places it told the civilians to move to

Parkingt111 · 29/10/2023 00:26

There are also many videos circulating on social media right now with large mobs outside Netanya college in Israel shouting death to Arabs whilst Israeli Arabs have locked themselves in their dorms
The Police don't seem to be making much of an effort to disperse the crowd either

Why would they not have bombed the 'military targets' down south first and then asked civilians to move to the south if they were actually concerned about them? It makes little sense to tell everyone to move south to be safe(bearing in mind it is 1million people) then bomb the South. How were they expecting the bombs to dodge those million people that are crammed in on top of another million people? I mean at best it shows that there is actually no care there at all for civilians and at worst they are luring them to their death.

SinnerBoy · 29/10/2023 00:37

Israel isn't deliberately killing a large number of people except for Hamas, and they don't have the stated aim of destroying Palestine.

That's an outright falsehood. Israel is willingly bombing civilian areas and is perfectly aware that they are causing mainly civilian casualties. They either don't care, or are happy that it's happening.

There have been more than 3,000 Palestinian children killed by Israel, so far. That's more than double the total number of Israelis murdered by the Hamas raiders.

As I've said, I'd rather take the word of people who know what they're talking about, rather than someone emotionally invested in repeating propaganda.

From the article provided:

"Wherever a Hamas target arises, the IDF will strike at it in order to thwart the terrorist capabilities of the group, while taking feasible precautions to mitigate the harm to uninvolved civilians," the military said on Wednesday, reiterating previous statements.

As I said above, that won’t be believed because many people have decided that Israel is inherently untrustworthy - there are even people insinuating in this thread that Israel delivers murdered their own civilians and blamed it on Hamas - but that’s what they’ve stated.

Human Rights Watch - the organisation who raised concerns about white phosphorus - have said themselves they have no idea if it’s being used for legal purposes or otherwise.
