Justifying the rape of women

Something I keep coming back to.. for the people whose sympathies lie with the Palestinians and think an eye for an eye and that Hamas have been pushed to act the way they have, how do you justify the brutal rape of women by Hamas?

Oh @Humdingerydoo please stop slandering me and playing the victim.

You have sworn at me, picked over my words and hurled accusations at me a number of times.

I asked you questions which after your statement were perfectly valid.

You do seem to spend an awful lot of time on here and pop up with the same group of people so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if you were speaking between yourselves.

It’s incredibly hypocritical of you to ask for me to not take what you’ve said literally when whatever I say, even when I condone antisemitism, is consistently picked apart and twisted around.

This thread was commented on recently because of appalling behaviour by some posters who wanted to dismiss evidence of rape and sexual abuse against Palestinians, and then argued that it didn’t matter because what happened on October 7th was worse. No ‘level’ of rape is OK, it is not OK full stop.

Wait, I am slandering you? You repeatedly insinuated I'm either some kind of bot or paid by Israel to be here.

You said yourself yesterday that you have a history of struggling with condemning antisemitism and now you're saying you have condemned it? At least I assume you mean condemn. It's the second time you've said condone instead. Or should I be taking your comment as literally as you're choosing to take mine, despite my explanation?

You'll find that I wasn't one of those posters you're talking about in your last paragraph and you'll also find that I have said that all rape is equally bad. So stop harassing me. Just leave me alone. You've had your fun, now drop it.

PeasfullPerson · 28/02/2024 22:04

I think we need to move on and talk about the actual topic of the thread.

stomachamelon · 28/02/2024 22:09

@PeasfullPerson I thought you were done? Or did you mean the opposite?

I’ve already shared this on a different thread but I’m re-posting it here as it seems relevant.

This is food for thought for anyone who thinks that for some reason Palestinian’s aren’t being subjected to sexual abuse.

It’s hard to believe when females conscripts are being treated this way.

I wonder if we would hear of more incidences, if there wasn’t a ban on journalists and health services were properly functioning.

You posted one 11 year old link and then a 2 year old screenshot to say they're restarting their failed efforts. Restarting means they stopped at some point. And somehow that turns into Israel paying for online comments for decades? And you want us to take your comments and accusations seriously?

Maybe you should've started with that.

SomeCatFromJapan · 29/02/2024 09:25

Unlike Israel’s supporters, I deal only in facts. Not racist propaganda designed to justify genocide.

What the fuck does that have to do with the topic of the thread? Nothing. Just an excuse for you to throw around words like "genocide".

SomeCatFromJapan · 29/02/2024 09:28

@PeasfullPerson you think it's just Israel that has an issue with that? No, harrassment of women is a global issue. One second of googling for instance:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/mar/04/dozens-of-uk-police-officers-disciplined-over-relationships-with-victims-witnesses

You literally just posted that to make inferrences and distract from the actual victims that this thread topic is about. Why do that?

Dozens of UK police officers disciplined over sexual contact with crime victims and witnesses

Nearly 80 officers in 22 forces across England and Wales have faced action for inappropriate relationships, data reveals

There’s no mention of autopsies in that link, only eye witness testimony from groups like ZAKA which were responsible for the beheaded babies lie.
Officials were quoted in the NYT article that zero autopsies were conducted, were they lying then?

You missed this bit which is from the autopsy reports:

”Many victims' bodies were found mutilated and bound, with sexual organs brutally attacked, and in some cases, weapons were inserted into them. Some bodies were discovered deliberately booby-trapped. It is essential to note that the report details only information from identified sources permitted for publication, while analysis includes additional confidential information that cannot be disclosed publicly.”

And this bit from my link also referencing autopsy reports:
”According to the report, these violations also occurred at IDF bases. Bodies of female soldiers that arrived at Camp Shura for forensic identification bore unmistakable signs of sexual violence.“

Just because a local police guy doesn’t have autopsy reports, as quoted in the NYT, that doesn’t mean there are no autopsies done.

Interesting article accusing The New York Times of publishing propaganda.

SomeCatFromJapan · 29/02/2024 13:40

Interesting article accusing The New York Times of publishing propaganda.

That is hardly an impartial, unbiased source, is it? But another day, another denail of Hamas atrocities. Plus ça change.

Vaccances · 29/02/2024 13:52

One can utterly condemn Hamas and 7/10 but be equally horrified at the Gazan death toll.

For me all this comes down to whether in 5 10 or 20 years time, Israel will be safer?
I would say what Israel is doing is sowing the seeds for decades of further terror, as have Hamas with 7/10 and the taking & treatment of the hostages.

inkworks273 · 29/02/2024 13:53

@SomeCatFromJapan Did you read the article? Would be interested to know which parts you feel are biased?

SomeCatFromJapan · 29/02/2024 14:10

@inkworks273 I had a good old look around the whole site.

One can utterly condemn Hamas and 7/10 but be equally horrified at the Gazan death toll.

And people are, on several other threads in this section.

ByGreyOP · 02/03/2024 16:21

I wonder if the people so determined to discredit the stories of rape on 7/10 do so with all rape survivors?

Well a poster ( pro Israeli government) graded rape. As a survivor, I found this beyond the pale.

stomachamelon · 02/03/2024 17:39

@ByGreyOP of course they don't.....we all know why.

I can't remember which thread and don't have the time to look for it. It is there though.

Humdingerydoo · 02/03/2024 18:56

Lots of pro-Hamas posters are denying and minimising the sexual violence that occurred on 7th of October.

I don't have the time to look for it to actually prove it's true, but as I have said it is true I fully expect you to believe it.
