How effective is Israeli bombing, anyway?

According to Hamas figures, Israel has dropped 12,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza. 6000 people have died.

Hamas terrorists killed 1400 Jews with just what they could carry on trucks and motorbikes.

It almost looks like Israel is trying to minimize casualties, doesn't it?

My friend's wife was killed last night and his family death toll is now 99. He has no family left and literally nowhere to go. All the family homes have been reduced to rubble. I heard a young man on the radio saying the dead are the lucky ones, the living ones who have life hanging injuries are the ones in hell. The UN has described the situation in hospitals as carnage. I cannot imagine the despair and pain these people are going through 💔

I am so sorry ! Is horrific i feel very sad but also angry! Biden denying the truth in the number of deaths is so disgusting no regard for palestinian lives

@ForfarBridie

"Can you back your claim up with proof?"

This is an absolutely sickening comment. It's in the same league as holocaust denial. You think the Israelis are lying about Hamas's atrocities? My word. This is why I no longer generally follow these threads.

immigrant002 · 27/10/2023 15:05

@soddingspiderseason
I am sorry but this completely false
There are numerous times the IDF lied i can lost the if you want
Shireen abu akleh 2022
Ahmet erekat 2020
Killing 2 palestinian teens 2014
Rachel corrie 2003
To name a few
Also ny times investigation has some interesting findings if you wish to read it

IDF history of lying speaks for itself

And i draw more similarities between israel atrocities and propaganda of dehumanisation with nazi germany than the other way around !

Yep, holocaust denial. The Hamas barbarians literally filmed their atrocities and posted them on social media. To pretend they didn't happen is just appalling.

oh that is terrible. I wish the leaders would just stop bickering over the difference between a cease fire vs humanitarian pause and stop Israel.

sablesong · 26/10/2023 13:43

there's a good reason Israeli govt want to control the narrative so they don't encounter any criticism.

I was reading an article yesterday about a website set up to target tons of Pro-palestine protesters and make them unemployable or prevented from entering educational courses because they are deemed "anti semitic", I was deeply shocked at what I read.

https://theintercept.com/2018/11/22/israel-boycott-canary-mission-blacklist/

that is terrifying but sadly not surprising.

Latest from bbc news. Hamas has denied using hospitals as command centres and that Israel has put that out to continue bombing hospitals. Whether they are saying the truth or not which civilised country goes and bombs multiple hospitals. How are people still saying ah shame well it had to be done.
Are we being conditioned to just accept this madness and not question it because our leaders don't seem to have an issue with it?

Hamas denies using hospitals as command centres
Hamas has rejected an assertion from the Israeli military - as reported in our last post - that it's been using hospitals in the Gaza Strip as command centres.
A member of the group's political bureau is quoted by the news agency Reuters as saying that the Israel made the allegation as "a prelude to committing a new massacre against our people".

You need to watch the footage from the Tel Aviv forensic centre where they were trying to piece together what happened to who. That, and interviews with the people who tidied up the kibbutzes after the Gazans had finished enjoying themselves. That's where the information came from originally. I'm travelling today, or would post links. The bloke presenting the forensics evidence to journalists was very fair when asked about the decapitated babies. He said they had no heads, but he couldn't be explicit about why not. The bodies were too charred to be certain, and their heads could have come off some other way than being chopped (e.g. grenade explosion). He was very composed about the whole thing and only sobbed briefly at one point when describing the burned remains of an adult holding a child close (bound with wire). Hope that helps.

IDF claims Hamas using Gaza's hospitals to 'wage war'The Israeli military has accused Hamas of using hospitals in Gaza for military purposes and of turning them into “hideouts for Hamas terrorists and commanders”.

“Hamas wages war from hospitals” in Gaza, Israel Defense Forces spokesperson (IDF) spokesperson Rear Adm Daniel Hagari told a news conference on Friday.
Hagari made specific reference to Al-Shifa hospital, the largest in the Gaza Strip. He said the hospital was being used to hide a variety of command posts and entry points into a sprawling network of tunnels under Gaza. He added:

There is fuel in hospitals and Hamas is using it for its terror infrastructure. The allegation was swiftly denied by Hamas. A senior member of the Hamas political bureau, Ezzat El-Reshiq, wrote on Telegram:

there is no basis in truth in what the spokesman of the enemy army stated. The Guardian has not been able to verify the IDF’s statements. Earlier, the commissioner general for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, denied that any aid was being diverted. He said:

We have solid monitoring mechanisms... UNRWA does not and will not divert any humanitarian aid into the wrong hands.

So who knows - which set of known liars do you believe
Saw on Twitter about 10 days ago that Hamas HQ was at this hospital

@Efacsen yes as I said its possible that they may be lying. But regardless which sort of inhumane country repeatedly bombs hospitals full well knowing that the injured civilians have nowhere to escape
Both are known to lie. Regardless, nobody with morals would say it's fine to do so.
If we had a couple of armed gunmen who were using the hospital as a base in England. And the only way to get rid of them was to bomb the hospital with all its injured, would we all put our hands up and just say sorry about that has to be done?

My comment isn’t as sickening as someone claiming the atrocity happened in the first place and didn’t feel the need to back their claims up with proof.

And pls feel free to ignore my posts from now. I’ve no intention of not posting just in case I may offend your sensitivities by asking for proof of an atrocity.

They said terrorist, I may faint

Sad it took them this long and probably won't stick. However we'll done all those British citizens that have been cancelling their TV licences. The general public has spoken 🙌

Eh? I haven't heard of this. The general public has spoken, from what I've seen and heard, but it isn't in support of the Israeli government.

Saw on Twitter about 10 days ago that Hamas HQ was at this hospital

I first saw it reported 10 years ago. I wouldn't be remotely surprised, it fits with their MO. But how can Israel prove it?

Israel's concerns were investigated in 2014 after Hamas leaders and their security were seen hanging round the hospital so nearly 10 years ago

''However, it is also clear that both during the 2014 conflict and the present war, the main buildings of the al-Shifa hospital complex operated primarily as a civilian healthcare facility making those buildings a protected civilian location.''

In a hypothetical situation If there was a Hamas member in a hospital, full of hundreds of injured patients, medical staff and thousands of civilians taking refuge. Would you give the go ahead to bomb the hospital?
If the trigger was in your hand would you do it?

It’s being reported that the internet has been cut in Gaza.

There’s a blackout and heavy bombing.

God save them.

There's alot of propaganda. Hamas has carried out unspeakable crimes. Israel is now carrying out unspeakable crimes but also trying to justify it along the way, majority of people have a moral compass where somethings cannot be justified no matter what. One of them is bombing hospitals and Israel fully well knows that these actions are the tipping point for many who support Israel to stop doing so

notimagain · 27/10/2023 18:11

"Moral compass" still doing a lot of heavy lifting I see...

Nobody from inside can report what is happening

Are you really trying to draw equivalence between the genocide that’s happening in Gaza to Hamas’s rockets ?

two way process my eye …
