Be ashamed of yourselves

That’s right be ashamed of yourselves. I come in these threads thinking I’ll read someone saying what’s happening to the people of Palestine is awful but what I end up reading is people saying they brought it on themselves because they elected Hamas.

So, what if they elected Hamas. We elected the Conservative party but they don’t speak for me, they certainly don’t act on behalf of the everyday citizen of this country. Be ashamed of yourselves for not valuing the lives of Palestinians but putting so much value on the lives of Israelis.

be ashamed of yourselves for justifying the ethnic cleansing of over 2 million people because Hamas attacked Israel in early October. Be ashamed of yourselves for standing for genocide in 2023!

be ashamed of yourselves for saying we would never allow the holocaust to happen again yet Palestinians are held in an open air prison. It’s literally been called a concentration camp, with no way in or out and they are being rampaged with bombs, white phosphorus bombs being dropped on them non stop. On Sunday night 400 died because of the bombs, over 2000 children are now dead. Be ashamed of yourselves for justifying their deaths and blaming them for it.

be ashamed of yourselves for condoning the protestors for wanting Palestinians to have a right to live a peaceful existence.

be ashamed for bringing history into justifying the slaughter of so many people. Yes, Palestinians did welcome Israelis into the holy land in the 1940’s, it doesn’t mean they get to die now. Yes, Israel has a right to exist, but that doesn’t mean Palestine doesn’t. Yes, Israel has land grabbed and continues to do so but no one is allowed to say anything. Yes, their is no Hamas in the West Bank but why are the Palestinian still being killed. Why are so many people illegally arrested mainly kids - held for decades in Israel prisons. Are they not hostages? Yea, Israel asked asked the Palestinians to move to the south with 24 hours notice for their ‘safety’ yet they are being killed in the south.

be ashamed if you ask any one who stands to defend the rights of Palestinians if they condemn Hamas. Everyone condemns Hamas. Being pro Palestinian doesn’t mean your pro-Hamas. I also condemn the barbarian acts of genocide committed by Israel. I condemn the open displays of hate for Palestinian people - calling them human animals etc.

Be ashamed if you think it’s so great they are letting a trickle of aid in but no fuel to run hospitals. Electricity ran out last night in the hospital. So many babies reliant in incubators will die as a result. be ashamed if you think it’s okay for world leaders to not call for a ceasefire and instead show 100% support to what Israel
is doing.

no one has the right to hold one life more dearer than another.

you should be ashamed of yourselves for valuing some over others.

It's absolutely terrible I have no words
This little girl was injured yesterday
Her face burnt after being hit by fragments of Israeli missiles
What was her crime? She is one of thousands of children injured and murdered

Parkingt111 · 31/10/2023 09:09

Netanyahu is unhinged
His own people don't have faith in him yet we are expected to believe he has the innocents palestinian civilians best interests at heart

Be ashamed of yourselves

I don't want anyone to sink to the level of Hamas,@Alexandra2001 , so please don't put words in my mouth. Everyone can see the horror being played out in Israel and Palestine. But I truly don't understand the endless posts about how evil Israel is when the ultimate responsibility for what is happening in Palestine is Hamas'. Everything is following from the atrocities they carried out, followed now by their hideous policy of deliberately hiding behind innocent Palestinians.

I'm not putting words in your mouth, its the logic of your belief.

Israel has the option not to bomb Gaza to the extent it is, Israel could let in far more aid trucks, they could chose not to blow up a car that finds itself running into a road block.....

Yes Hamas triggered the latest round of violence, thats not disputed but their reaction is imho over the top.... and yes is evil, just as the Hamas attack is.

What else is dropping bombs on civilian areas, knowing you will kill and maim non combatants? even if Hamas is hiding behind ordinary people.

The UK had its own border terrorists, the IRA would bomb and shoot people in NI, escaping back to the ROI in many cases or their own communities in NI, did we bomb the fuck out of towns and villages they hid in? using the excuse "they are using civilians to hide amongst, we have no alternative"
The IRA bombed London Birmingham etc, bombed the British government... but we protected as much as we could civilians and used intelligence lead raids to kill/arrest IRA leaders and ultimately, negotiations.

Almost 4000 people were killed in that conflict, i get the numbers aren't on par with what happened on 7th October but it does show the Israelis have different options unless of course their plan is to erase the Gaza strip of Palestinians?

25milesfromhome · 31/10/2023 16:31

Hamas: “not in the West Bank”
Israel : “not going after Hamas leaders”

The Guardian today: Israeli troops on Tuesday destroyed the family home of Saleh al-Arouri, the exiled commander of Hamas forces in the occupied West Bank. His house, which local residents said was not occupied, was blown up in the early hours of the morning.

CosimoPiovasco · 31/10/2023 17:31

Report in Guardian
senior United Nations human rights official has resigned stating
whats happening in Gaza is genocide unfolding before our eyes.

Erasing the Gaza Strip of Palestinians.
Bombing their way down south and pushing Palestinians towards Egypt,
Recent refugee camp bombed is reputedly the most densely populated place on earth

Our Western democratic values are under attack my many regimes including Russia and Iran and North Korea and plenty in the Middle East are not our friends. Israel is supported by the UK/US because it stands on the side of right and democracy, as a beacon in the Middle East to how things could be if those awful regimes adopted our better and democratic values.

Lol is this satire ??

Israel just bombed the refuge camp! the place where they told people to evacuate to ... is disgusting completely disgusting !
I don't care if the hamas leader is there you don't fucking bomb a refuge camp !
Did US bombed the whole area in pakistan to get fucking bin laden ? What sort of excuse is this ?
And our spineless politicians sack people who ask for ceasefire ?
I don't want to see fucking poppies on everyone chest while we are complicit in this massacre !
I am so angry

Parker231 · 31/10/2023 20:25

Having listened to some of the Covid enquiry to day, nothing democratic about how the UK operates.

Worth noting as yet no independent proof or confirmation from Hamas one of their commanders was killed. I don’t see any IDF searching through the rubble to check ….I just see Palestinian civilians
So just Israel trying to justify bombing a refugee camp ! and one of the most densely populated places on earth. !

Question. Why is Israel not letting anyone out? What about British nationals visiting family in Gaza and getting caught up in the war like the in-laws of the Scottish prime minister or that teacher from Manchester or the London doctor there with his teenage children? Why on earth are they trapped in Gaza? Why can't they get out? How can the British government be OK with this??
This is truly horrific. I'm starting to think you have to be a bit deranged to support what Israel is doing. I get that they have a terrorist organisation on their doorstep and they suffered an appalling attack on 7/10. But nothing - nothing at all - can justify the incessant bombing of 2 million people who are trapped in a small area with hardly any water, food and medical supplies. It really beggars beliefs that this is condoned by the UK, US eycm

Are you on glue?

You are persuading no-one. Women are having Caesareans without pain relief, and those are your values.
Have you absolutely no shame or compassion at all?

Should the international community offer asylum to people in Gaza? I know there is the concern they won't be allowed back, but for many, especially children, it may be a lifeline.

They don't appear to be allowed out to get to safety.

ketchup07070 · 01/11/2023 00:13

@flufferknutter I know, but wondered if it should be added to calls for a ceasefire. Schemes for Ukrainian refugees seemed to be organised quite quickly.

It's a good idea, but I just can't see a ceasefire happening. Netanyahu is deranged and has lost the plot. I don't know what's going to stop him now. I agree about evacuating women, children, the elderly and sick. The situation is so hopeless. The international community need to act quickly, but who has the power to stop them?

ketchup07070 · 01/11/2023 00:30

@flufferknutter I think the US has the power to stop the war, but I don't know if they will. Netanyahu might not mind people being evacuated as refugees, since he seems to have entertained the idea of pushing people into Sinai. I see there are quite large petitions for ceasefire and humanitarian aid, but not a loud call for asylum schemes. I can see it's difficult, as UK can't seem to even get UK nationals out. But I wonder if it's another thing that can be put to politicians, and that if there is enough pressure from the public, charities and human rights organisations they may come up with some arrangement. It seems logical to me, and I don't know why I've not heard it mentioned by the EU, UN or politicians.
