Be ashamed of yourselves

That’s right be ashamed of yourselves. I come in these threads thinking I’ll read someone saying what’s happening to the people of Palestine is awful but what I end up reading is people saying they brought it on themselves because they elected Hamas.

So, what if they elected Hamas. We elected the Conservative party but they don’t speak for me, they certainly don’t act on behalf of the everyday citizen of this country. Be ashamed of yourselves for not valuing the lives of Palestinians but putting so much value on the lives of Israelis.

be ashamed of yourselves for justifying the ethnic cleansing of over 2 million people because Hamas attacked Israel in early October. Be ashamed of yourselves for standing for genocide in 2023!

be ashamed of yourselves for saying we would never allow the holocaust to happen again yet Palestinians are held in an open air prison. It’s literally been called a concentration camp, with no way in or out and they are being rampaged with bombs, white phosphorus bombs being dropped on them non stop. On Sunday night 400 died because of the bombs, over 2000 children are now dead. Be ashamed of yourselves for justifying their deaths and blaming them for it.

be ashamed of yourselves for condoning the protestors for wanting Palestinians to have a right to live a peaceful existence.

be ashamed for bringing history into justifying the slaughter of so many people. Yes, Palestinians did welcome Israelis into the holy land in the 1940’s, it doesn’t mean they get to die now. Yes, Israel has a right to exist, but that doesn’t mean Palestine doesn’t. Yes, Israel has land grabbed and continues to do so but no one is allowed to say anything. Yes, their is no Hamas in the West Bank but why are the Palestinian still being killed. Why are so many people illegally arrested mainly kids - held for decades in Israel prisons. Are they not hostages? Yea, Israel asked asked the Palestinians to move to the south with 24 hours notice for their ‘safety’ yet they are being killed in the south.

be ashamed if you ask any one who stands to defend the rights of Palestinians if they condemn Hamas. Everyone condemns Hamas. Being pro Palestinian doesn’t mean your pro-Hamas. I also condemn the barbarian acts of genocide committed by Israel. I condemn the open displays of hate for Palestinian people - calling them human animals etc.

Be ashamed if you think it’s so great they are letting a trickle of aid in but no fuel to run hospitals. Electricity ran out last night in the hospital. So many babies reliant in incubators will die as a result. be ashamed if you think it’s okay for world leaders to not call for a ceasefire and instead show 100% support to what Israel
is doing.

no one has the right to hold one life more dearer than another.

you should be ashamed of yourselves for valuing some over others.

If someone invaded the UK we would similarly fight back as I said above when the West did what it had to do to protect our values, our people, our democracy and indeed the jewish people in Europe. War is nasty. Hamas started this. This is how war goes. It is why I voted Remain the Brexit vote as the coherence of the EU has helped keep the peace in Europe since I was born in contrast to what my parents suffered during WWII and their parents in WWI. War is never fair, nice and safe. It is a horrible thing. However Hamas started this in my view and plenty of us in the UK and wider West do support Israel.

Israel gave a warning to move south in mid October a long time before comms were down. I agree with the comments above that moving on 15th October etc was not possible for everyone by any means, but that is how war is - it is a nasty business. Hamas should not have started it. We tend to reap what we sow in life.

Can you let me know who has invaded who ? As this conflict has been happening for decades? Also would you be happy if a Roman came and said out of your house. Thousand of years ago the romans lived here so I’ve got a right to live here ?

btw not anymore the wider supports Israel. Have you seen what happened on Friday I. The UN? Only Austria / Hungary and Ukraine voted against the ceasefire. Most of west countries voted in favour

Thisworld10 · 29/10/2023 08:03

@Xenia you sound like a genocide sympathiser. It sounds like you think Israel is completely just in annihilation of the Palestinian people.

Israel started the war by locking up the Palestinians in a tiny piece of what is ultimately their land anyway. Kept them as prisoners on the Gaza Strip and controlled their access to food, water, electricity and medical supplies. Should they just accept this?

Where should the Palestinians have moved south to - the areas Israel are now bombing?

Hamas is wrong (definitely don’t support their actions) but Netanyahu is equally guilty and is now committing war crimes.

@Xenia - why do you think that a Israeli life is worth more than a Palestinian?

Xenia · 29/10/2023 08:06

Hamas invaded Israel and slit the throats and babies. Yes, there is quite a history in that area, but Israel is one of the only democracies in the Middle East. It is also the only Jewish state. There are plenty of muslim ones around that region. A lot of Hamas terrorists do not want Israel to exist (and Indeed I know the complexities - even some ultra orthodox do not accept the state of Israel for religious reasons).

The UK designates Hamas terrorist. The US and UK support Israel. Two thirds of Americans do (in a recent survey)
The UK's recent announcement about the UN resolution is measured and wise...

"The draft resolution needed to be clearer on Israel’s inherent right to self-defence in line with the UN Charter after Hamas’ attacks killed over 1,400 people and took almost 200 people hostage. The draft resolution also ignored the fact that Hamas are using innocent Palestinian civilians as human shields.
They have embedded themselves in civilian communities and made the Palestinian people their victims too.
For these reasons, the United Kingdom abstained on this resolution.
My Prime Minister has been clear that the UK stands with Israel in the face of these atrocities.
We support Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas, take back the hostages, deter further incursions, and strengthen its security for the long term."

Those are my views too. As in the past and now we have fought for our democracies, I am allowed to express those views.

I’d invite you to read what has Israel done up to the 7th of October.

Thisworld10 · 29/10/2023 08:16

@EasterIssland add to that they also kill defenceless people, just last night Israel killed a 1 day old baby.

The UK PM’s views are not the view of the majority of people.

Yeah I was pointing at many of the things Israel / its army and the settlers have been doing for decades. The conflict didn’t start on the 7tb of October. That was the top of the iceberg. There is loads of years of conflict behind

You haven’t answered my question - why do you think that an Israeli life is worth more than a Palestinian?

Gruntsandgroans · 29/10/2023 09:09

Apparently Israel are saying that they will bomb Al-Quds hospital and that everyone needs to evacuate immediately. Like everyone is just staying for fun. I'm hoping that this is just another warning and nothing will actually happen.

Don’t worry when it happens it’ll be a missed Hamas rocket 🤔

NotABeliever · 29/10/2023 09:27

History will not look kindly on the West for unconditionally supporting Israel in this conflict and turning a blind idea to the mass murder and displacement of thousand of Palestinian civilians.

I cannot believe that even calling for a cease fire is controversial because it's seen as denying Israel the opportunity to defend itself. What's that got to do with antisemitism? Freedom of speech is no more.

Thisworld10 · 29/10/2023 09:28

The West writes history, hence history will look kindly on the West's support for a democracy over a terrorist organisation.

Classing Israel as a democracy is becoming quite difficult. Even before 7 October there were an ever increasing number of protests and demonstrations. More and more Israelis are rejecting the stronghold right wing government and the country is in political crisis. Netanyahu is now finished and unelectable.

We should just ignore all these people coming onto this thread asking if we condemn Hamas. As I said in my opening statement everyone condemns Hamas. It’s like they are trying to get the thread deleted.

don’t give them your time.

the 2 hostages released the other day, Israel refused to take them at first. Hamas has also said they’ll release 50 more hostages but Israel has refused.

Do you have a source for this?

everyone condemns Hamas.

Plenty of people don't.

Thisworld10 · 29/10/2023 16:27

Israhell has raised its flag 3km inside the north of Gaza - what is this if not the display of land grabbing?
They have also bombed the vicinity of Al-Quds hospital which has damaged sections of the hospital.
