This is running on Al Jazeera and others - apparently Israel refused to take back two hostages.

Has the list of the names of the 50 hostages been released? Is there a list?

As far as I'm aware there is no list ATM tho' the children and their mothers can largely be worked out notwithstanding any that are missing/deceased

Al Jazeera reported earlier that Hamas said the hostage names will be given 24 hours before their release

Apparently Hamas says 150 Palestinian women and teenagers will be released from Israeli jails under the deal

Whereas the list shared by Israel's justice ministry of 300 Palestinian detainees who could be released.
Most are aged 17 or 18, with the overall age range 14-59. The majority of the detainees - 274 of 300 - are male.

Also listed are the offences of the detainees. They include attempted murder, throwing a bomb, creating an explosive or incendiary object, throwing stones, contact with a hostile organisation, grievous bodily harm and arson on nationalist grounds.

So Hamas are choosing the woman and children from the list of 300 that Israel are ok about releasing

They will obviously pick the women and probably youngest teenagers because that suits the narrative etc. However still these teenage boys have all likely to have been radicalised from birth so a product of that.

The women however I don't see as any different from male prisoners. If women can be in the IDF or Hamas why does everyone keep talking about women like they are different from men. Children and the elderly I get are more vulnerable but women ( other than they are more likely to experience sex crimes) are no different from men in this conflict.

Efacsen · 22/11/2023 08:32

The Times of Israel is reporting that the Almagor Terror Victims Association has said it will file a petition in Israel’s high court at noon today (10am local time) against the hostage and ceasefire deal.

They are objecting to the whole deal

This is what the 24 hour delay is for so not unexpected

It's all spin isn't it.
We are led to believe the benevolent Hamas will release babies, toddlers etc because they want their children and women back. Who are held wrongly in detention.
Only the list shows that's not the case. Some of the offences are serious and it's mostly men. They would be classed as men there however we care to look at it with our western eyes.
I hope it will go through. I expected there to be resistance. It won't please everyone because of what it means with regard to hostages.
Now let's see if Hamas come up with the goods. And people are still in one piece.

I hear you that a lot of places most these children woke classed as men. My logical brain says this.

However working with teenagers up to 18 plus having sons in teens and twenties, I still see these 'men' as children even into their early twenties. That is probably my self as a mother and my western ideology of childhood thinking though.

At the end of the day Hamas are definitely pumping out statements that are only half truths on a regular basis at the moment. Therefore we do all need to try and what for the facts to come out and go from there.

Whilst they’re men now they might have not been when they were arrested.

Trulywonderful · 22/11/2023 14:17

Whoever ends up getting released Israeli prisoner wise I am sure the media will give us a full breakdown of names, ages, offences and how long they were in prison. Until then we can only guess or speculate

EasterIssland · 22/11/2023 14:27

From bbc
Israel has just released of a list of 300 Palestinians that could be released under the deal struck between Israel and Hamas.
The list, posted on Israel's justice ministry website, includes the names, ages and offences of those eligible.
As a reminder, only 150 detainees are expected to be released at first. We'll have more details soon.

Thailand has been holding separate talks with Hamas about the release of its nationals. Last week, Bangkok's negotiators said they received assurances that Thai hostages were "safe".

Actually the arrest date is in the list. It’s the second date. I’ve only checked the first page so not all of them , in the first page arrest was 2022-2023. As said haven’t checked all of them

Trulywonderful · 22/11/2023 14:33

I think these young men should sue the EU once released. If thos is their age range in general then they are the product of not only radicalisation from surroundings but also in education. Those EU funded Jew hate textbooks and lack of checking on EU funded teachers would have encouraged radicalisation of these young men

Stomacharmeleon · 22/11/2023 14:36

@Trulywonderful and the abolition and disbanding of UNWRA for misappropriation and not being fit for task. There are some really interesting articles about this.

Jux · 22/11/2023 14:43

Israel is holding thousands of Palestinians prisoner without trial, and have been doing so for years. Wouldn't you call those people hostages? Women and children - thousands of them. BBC said without charge. Those people are, in my book, hostages.

A hundred Israeli hostages, thousands of Palestinians. It's all appalling.

All appauling if without trial yes. Obviously some will be held awaiting trial like here. However if this has been more than a similar time frame of somewhere like here, which is often a year for some violent crimes then that is not on. Similarly some are under 16 or 18 so I presume it possible a different system would be in place or should be.

Parkingt111 · 22/11/2023 15:06

Update
The Israeli foreign minister, Eli Cohen, has told Army Radio ithat the process of Hamas transferring hostages back to Israel is expected to begin tomorrow. He did not offer exact details of how many hostages would be exchanged at first, or when

Hopefully by this time tomorrow we should be seeing further progress

Trulywonderful · 22/11/2023 15:09

Fingers crossed for as many children as possible

Stomacharmeleon · 22/11/2023 16:23

@Trulywonderful I hope all the children are released. It's such a emotional time. I keep checking the news every half an hour to see if there are any updates.

Parkingt111 · 22/11/2023 17:26

@Stomacharmeleon sky news is reporting the list of the names of the first group of hostages being released tomorrow will be given to Israel this evening

You can't be "radicalised from birth" unless you believe that babies are capable of holding radical thoughts.

Stomacharmeleon · 22/11/2023 17:35

Thanks @Parkingt111 I appreciate that.

How cruel to break up families, some women are being left behind too... who the fuck takes 3 year olds??

Stomacharmeleon · 22/11/2023 20:08

Abigail idan- 3- both parents murdered.
That means someone picked her up after killing both her parents and took her.

Emily hand- whose mother has already died of breast cancer. On her own.

Those who are leaving their only living parent behind. It's sadistic. Psychological warfare.

Hamas are evil.
