This is running on Al Jazeera and others - apparently Israel refused to take back two hostages.

Tbh I was surprised Hamas honoured yesterdays release
after the IDF used tear gas and shot and killed two Palestinians
yesterday after the ceasefire.

A clear violation of the agreement

Parkingt111 · 25/11/2023 17:46

This thread is going to end soon
Would anyone like to make a new one on the hostages/ceasefire

Jupitersstorm · 25/11/2023 17:47

SomeCatFromJapan · 25/11/2023 17:27

They'd better muster up the hostages quickly or hostilities will apparently resume at midnight.

Yes they really need to. Can't believe how some people on this thread are falling for their lies.

Wasn't preventing people from going north part of the ceasefire agreement? I've seen both versions suggested

ketchup07070 · 25/11/2023 17:51

I think the shortfall in aid trucks was reported yesterday, reported by aid agencies. They needed another crossing open. I really hoped both sides would give latitude, as neither has stuck to agreements completely.

How did Hamas not stick to the agreement yesterday?

ketchup07070 · 25/11/2023 17:56

@KingofIthaca I think we were talking about how there was to be 'no celebration' after the release of prisoners? Although, maybe that was more led by the local community and not to do with Hamas. Sorry, if I got that wrong.

Was it.
It might have been in the small print I suppose!

Did all the Palestinians get that memo?… even if it was.

Did it say in the small print the IDF can kill anyone who tries to go to their home in the North….

If it was in the ceasefire agreement, I assume they can shoot them yes. There were leaflets dropped all over Gaza telling them not to go north. So they know. But then when they have Hamas telling them to ignore this and go north regardless...

If it's not in the ceasefire agreement but just an understanding, that might be different. I don't know.

Anyone up for starting a Hostages thread 2
I would but I’ve already got one going
This has proved to be really informative,

Parkingt111 · 25/11/2023 18:07

Yes please can we have another thread to continue from this one
Would be much appreciated

KingofIthaca · 25/11/2023 18:07

Israel are dropping tear gas on people waiting for the release of Palestinians outside Ofer Prison.
Who does that
Why do that
Its completely inhumane as people wait for their loved ones

Stomacharmeleon · 25/11/2023 18:19

On sky news the Palestinian Red Cross confirmed aid has got through.

I would assume it's to prevent escalation. There's a very real risk of riots. Not everything Israel does is 100% wrong, you know?

That all the aid trucks expected got through is what they are saying

StarbucksSmarterSister · 25/11/2023 17:09

Guy on BBC just said it's because Hamas want prisoners who have served longer in prison than those being released. In other words, they want those who've committed more serious crimes.

How do you work that out? Someone could have been locked up for the last 10 years for throwing a stone (I've read you can get up to 20 years for that) and another person committed murder last week or last month or last year. You think the murderer committed a less serious crime? Seriously.

Oh to some it will always be 100% wrong

A IDF soldier could help an old lady across the road and they would spin it into a hate crime or something.

Just seen this

Also seen in the Guardian that Egypt is trying to resolve the delay
I hope it does
It would be a huge blow if it doesn't

Iwasafool · 25/11/2023 18:28

KingofIthaca · 25/11/2023 17:40

How can they possibly deny the obvious
We know only 137 trucks of aid went in and we know none reached, for example, Al-shifa
These are Obvious lies

Maths is tricky isn't it. 200 trucks agreed, 137 allowed in, Israel and people on here insisting it all got in. What happened to the 63 missing trucks?

StarbucksSmarterSister · 25/11/2023 18:40

EsmaCannonball · 25/11/2023 17:24

Didn't you just know Hamas would start playing cruel games?

Apparently two Palestinians were lynched as collaborators in the West Bank last night, with the footage being uploaded on social media. There has also been trouble inside one of the Israeli prisons where Palestinians are kept. This delay has several aims: to be cruel to the Israelis; to try to blame the Israelis for not keeping to the terms of the ceasefire (when it is the other way around); to try to prompt the Israelis into legitimately resuming hostilities so the useful idiots can accuse them of breaking the ceasefire; to set off riots in the West Bank; to set off riots in the prisons.

Fancy being governed by a regime that sees you as so expendable.

The lynching Is all over Twitter with vile footage of people cheering like mad. Nothing on msm though, oddly enough.

It would be huge blow to a chance for peace as Israel rightfully will not accept being messed around - which they clearly are.

Efacsen · 25/11/2023 18:40

It is complicated - figures often don't add up

PRCS says in another tweet at lunchtime that the 61 lorries of aid delivered to northern gaza yesterday includes

  • aid sent from Egypt yesterday
  • aid from their warehouse in Rafah

Qatar also now involved in trying to resolve the situation

No one said everything Israel does is wrong!
But tear gas!
Really!
Is that proportional

Oh no sorry…..who needs proportional
