takingtheplunge the only proof positives of not being pregnant are AF and/or an ultrasound (dildo-cam optional) showing a very definitely empty uterus. If AF doesn't show up then test again but in the meantime console yourself with wine.

Now on day 32 and not a snifter of a period. Had a 35 day cycle in May so could still turn up, but ususally get sore boobs in the run up to AF (except when pregnant) and nothing. Can't afford another fucking 8 euro test so will have to hang on til I reckon I'm really really late which would be about thurs.

Probably just my body having a huge laugh and AF will turn up on about day 37 aftr I've pissed on another ludricrously expensive stick and got another BFN.

Sigh....

went to another pharmacy in case i could find a cheaper one and she said her cheapest were 10 euros. AF could still arrive...have ahd 35-36 day cycles in the last 6 months. Really don't want to piss all over 18 euros of plastic for nothing. If no AF by Thurs, I'll splash out on a really sensitive one. It's just that usually I feel more periody than this (sore boobs, cramps etc). Don't really feel anything....altho with DS I didn't have sore boobs but did have cramps.

Bloody hell I get 2 for 10€ and I live in expensiveland! You must live in extortionateland.

3 days and counting

well I went to the GP today (chest infection) and told her I was PG, she said 'how far?' and I said 2 weeks.

She said 2 weeks late? and I said no, 2 weeks PG.

She said but that's impossible, you can't be, tests aren't that sensitive! I said I'll take another if you like.

She did believe me but said she can't do a referral this early as the hospital will throw the forms back, so I booked another appt for next week.

The thing is, I have always known AT LEAST a week before AF is due if I am PG or not. Does that mean I am weird? I thought it was normal. She says in all her time as a GP she has never known a BFP only a week after conception.
I must be hormonal.
DH says twins.
I hope not!

According to medical science I was born 5 weeks early. However if you take into account my Ma has only had 20 day cycles I was actually 'on-time'

Back to see the consultant tonight for me for next stages now they have decided I have polycystic ovaries (not PCOS). 'Thanks' to the wonder of Google I am pretty sure I have the insulin resistance that goes with it...I'd like to think that I didn't HAVE to live off rabbit food and exercise regularly to just maintain 10st!

well i came on 5 days late after convincing myself i was pregnant one good thing though is Dh has realised how much he wants this now and has vowed to make a real effort this cycle

frakkit I live in Spain and to my knowledge you can only buy tests in pharmacies and the 3 I have asked/bought from were 8, 9 or 10 euros. I bought a test in Feb when my period was late and contraception had been a bit lax and I'm sure I only paid 5 euros, but maybe I'm misremembering.

Well, period is beginning slowly but surely so here's to another month at least of JSing! Hurrah!

Taking I've seen people saying they get their tests off the internet for cheap. You should look into that for next time.

Was hoping to be JSing with intent by now, but apparently there is a million miles of red tape involved in having a coil removed around here [Grr frustrated face]. I'm a big fan of the internet cheapie tests. Plus it's nice not having an inanimate, plastic object telling you in no uncetain words you are not PG . And it gives us something else to obsess over - 'is there a line, isn't there a line?!' Not that I have come that close!

You have the added joy of trying to aim for the cup with the cheapie sticks as you can't really pee on them mid-flow - well, my aim sucks at any rate!

I am wondering if this is my last post...no such luck that I would be leaving for a BFP but I think I am shortly to qualify for "carefully timed just shagging with chemical assitance". which sounds like some odd '70s acid trip.

Saw consultant last night who confirmed PCOs. Showed me some great pictures - uterus looks exactly like it does in biology text books, even if my ovaries look like they have adopted this season's trend for polka dots

She said I could leave it for a couple of months (would take me to 6 months with no period) but also mentioned my endometrial (sp?!) lining was very thin therefore she wouldn't expect me to have a period within the next few weeks anyway.

The plan of action is Clomid. She reckons I have plenty of eggs, they are just lazy buggers, all cosy in the ovary and not wanting to crack on (pardon the pun) and fulfil their biological destiny.

I could go back to the NHS but that would mean definitely waiting until 6 months and then 2-3 month referral time.

I am, if you haven't been able to tell (!), a wee bit impatient now so I asked if we could get cracking (oh again with the egg related pun!). Answer: yep!

So....being transferred from where she works for gynae work to where she works for fertility treatment. We are going private...for the time being. Sould have an appointment within a couple of weeks. It amazes me it still takes this long, even privately. Lots of lazy eggs/sperm out there!

Vallinna - good news about a plan. Have you looked into Metformin at all? Clomid is good, been around ages, etc. But there are some buts with it. A time limit (normally) for a start, some docs say 6 months, some 9, due to the risk of over-stimulation. Could be perfect for cracking those eggs but worth checking the alternatives just in case.

Oh and we went private too for the same bit as i just couldn't wait the possible 6 months for NHS.
