The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

DH is home early today so will get dressed by then and maybe spray polish in the air Hmm

NervousNelly · 20/08/2010 12:00

Morning all! (Sneaking a quick look at MN whilst at work). Everyone seems to be on very fine form this morning :)

Vallinnapod they don't give you the DVD to take away do they? Now that would be alarming!

Good luck to all those waiting for ERTD to start/hoping it doesn't/getting better drugs/trying not to go --slowly- rapidly mad Grin

baby2b · 20/08/2010 12:03

Oh dear Josie, it's horrid not knowing. I think your friend is an example that it is different for everyone :) and yes you do get cramping early when pg as things are expanding. x

BrassicaBabe · 20/08/2010 12:04

*Nervous - All of the above!! Grin

JosieSmith1 · 20/08/2010 12:09

Oh baby2b you've just made my day! I am hopeful again!

For the record, my friend has never been pg, we we're just speculating Grin.

I just told my friend (who just told me she's leaving) that we are ttc, such a relief being honest about it for a change, she's really happy for us. She's telling us about where she's going (Thailand and Australia to start) and I'm trying soooo hard not to cry! At least if I am pg I can put the tears down to hormones Grin

baby2b · 20/08/2010 12:18

Grin I thought they were strange symptoms. You are doing very well at not poas...I'm very impressed!

loopeylu · 20/08/2010 12:21

takethatlady just caught up with your news here. You poor, poor sod. If it is any consolation, I had a 'chemical pregnancy' in April. Had stupidly taken a first response test (never again, hence my rant on here about not testing before a couple of days after AF is due) and got a line...only to have AF arrive with avengeance the following week. Dr said it was an early miscarriage.

Still, on a more positive note, the following month after JS-ing, I got a BFP. Waited 5 days until after I thought I might be due before testing(be warned, your cycle can go a bit haywire apparently when you have a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage) and having had a couple of boozy nights, convinced I wasn't pregnant. Now I'm 16 weeks. Gulp. Hang on in there!

SleepyCaz · 20/08/2010 12:55

So sorry to hear the news, TakeThat. Big viroid hugs to you.

Am so pissed off here. Thought was on CD12 yesterday when started to bleed. So now have to start all over agin from CD1, all that JS-ing for nothing. So fed up with my stupid cylce. Short, long, constantly bleeding, it's a mess, and I'm never going to get up the duff, I know it. Agh.

Wallows

JosieSmith1 · 20/08/2010 13:11

Aw, sorry about AF arriving SleepCaz.

I am driving myself mad. I just got back from POAS (I have let you down baby2b), BFN again, but still no sign of ERTD yet Confused. Maybe my cycles are just a bit funny and it's not due yet?!

Well, I'm still hopeful until it arrives, I have managed to save one POAS dont know how long it'll last though so will use that on sunday morning if all else fails

milanomum · 20/08/2010 13:21

where else would people chat so easily about chuffs and tie-dyed fanjoes, eh? I love it!

Brassica glad you got appointments started.

b2b dust off that shag cape and don your sexy heels! Shagging is good for the soul.

Josie - :( but that means a new shagging frontier :)

Truffkin - took me aaagggges to work it all out :)

should we call this thread 'kind of js-ing'?

Just realised I sound like some shag-obsessed maniac...

milanomum · 20/08/2010 13:23

Blush sorry Josie!! i got you confused with b2b... shit. Thought you had got your period... need to real more carefully...soz.

JosieSmith1 · 20/08/2010 13:27

No problem Milano! If I do get my period then yes it is a new shagging frontier Grin

NervousNelly · 20/08/2010 13:30

sleepy - All that JSing for nothing????? Noooo - that's the fun part!! So long as you are doing it right, it's always worth it just for the fun Grin . I'm sorry that ERTD appeared for you though :(

Josie step away from the ramekin.....

baby2b · 20/08/2010 13:50

Aww Josie, you lasted longer than I ever have :) I am becoming obsessed with weeing on sticks. Was in M&S yesterday and rather than thinking yum choc desert I thought oooh that would be a better shaped ramekin for poas!

Anyway, I'm not showered + dressed and will be dusting off shag cape shortly. Not allowed to js until Wed, so want to hear lots of stories of exotic jsing on here in the mean time! Whats the most jsing people can manage in a weekend?!

baby2b · 20/08/2010 13:52

*now (rather not showered, lol)

baby2b · 20/08/2010 14:00
JosieSmith1 · 20/08/2010 14:03

Well my obsessive need for POAS has abated for now and I am going to keep the second test until I'm definitely late, or next month. Hmm

vallinnapod · 20/08/2010 15:52

Well, after all my optimism I had the WORST appointment today - I emailed my Dad an update so have copied it below to explain the sheer red mist I am seeing :(

I had called the clinic on Wednesday as I wanted someone to explain everything to me. Part of my frustration is we have had no contact with my consultant since 3rd August. I now find out she works Wednesday morning and that is it. A really nice doctor called me back and explained everything to me. He was incredibly helpful and said if I was his patient and today's scan showed no further growth, then he would recommend another course of Clomid and another drug called Metformin which is an insulin regulator used normally to treat type 2 diabetes. The PCOS can cause insulin irregularities which in turn can stop the Clomid form working successfully so he though this combined approach would probably be the best.

So, my scan today showed nothing. The sonographer then calls my doc (the part-timer). I am not in the room for this call. Apparently she wants to leave it 2 weeks and then start me on injections to help me ovulate. This is me seems to be missing out less invasive, cheaper options. Of course none of this has been explained to me directly. So I call her office to make an appointment to find the next one she has isn't until Sept 15th. I ask her secretary if she can get her to call me to explain the conflicting advice and the amount of time I have to wait for an appointment. Of course she can't do that until next Wednesday.....

I had thought about seeing if I could transfer to someone else's care at the clinic we are at but I have written to them to request our notes and have made an appointment with a clinic round the corner from work on 31st August. We sort of have to start from scratch in terms of consultations but they will honour test results of less than 6 months as long as they aren't borderline.

The utter frustration I am feeling...GAH!

PS Just thinking of the words 'chuff' and 'fanjo' make me Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/08/2010 16:19

Can't believe after not being able to onto MN all day, now that I'm finally on I have to get off and do some work. I'm scared to close my window encase I don't get back in again, but my screen is being recorded whilst working and really really don't need fanjos and chuffs flashing up midway thorugh! Grin

DH hates it when I use the word fanjo. Haven't found a DH friendly term for lady bits yet, so I'm having fun tormenting him in the process! [evil Grin ]

BrassicaBabe · 20/08/2010 16:21

sleepy, remind me, how long have you been ttc and off contraception? When I first came off the pill, it took about 6 weeks for af to return, then I had 2 months of bleeding every 14 days. I went to my GP and blood tests showed that I wasn't ovulating. It sorted itself out after that though. (Although I'm stll seeing doc at fertility clinic, but mid-cycle bleeding sorted itself) Maybe you need to nip to your GP? But it's enough to drive you bonkers!

Vallinna, don't know what to say missus. That is so frustrating. Could it be there is no right or wrong answer and that for every doctor you ask you'll get a different approach? You've just got to find a doc you are happy with. The injection vs metformin sound like 2 options of the same coin. Hopefully seeing someone at the clinic near work will help. I think you need another session on the sofa with junk food and wine Grin

CD 18 for me....time goes soooooo slowly

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/08/2010 16:50

Ah Vallinna just read your post, that's utter crap for you! With all these dildo cams you've been made to have, it's no wonder this silly consultant woman can afford to work one day a week! Good Luck at the new Drs.

Well tomorrow I'm off to get all sexied up. Hair cut, under wear shopping, legs shaved. If that doesn't score me a shag then ... something!

baby2b · 20/08/2010 17:19

That is crap Vallinna, bad customer service makes my blood boil and that is basically what it is.

Does anyone else think that everyone seems to be pregnant?! Just as I was typing seen the BT lady is even pregnant! I notice they don't show weeks of her weeing on sticks and using bt internet to google symptoms!

While I am ranting.... seen a woman this avo on the high street wearing grey trackies and matching hoodie, with greasy hair held back in a banana clip, cigarette in one hand and full fat coke in the other...she was about 7-8 months pregnant! Here I am wondering whether I should go decaf when drinking tea, lol Grin

On positive note...I was just [whispers] buying opk at boots and the man at the till changed my card to a parenting one and I now get ten points for every pound I spend. Did anyone else know about this? :)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/08/2010 17:29

B2B I did and in my excitment of 1 after being officially pg I signed up. Now of course I'm not pg I'm to embarrassed to ring up and cancel, so just figure will leave it and when I'm properly pg will just go on line and casually change my due date. You only get 10 points per pound on baby products though.

baby2b · 20/08/2010 17:33

Don't be embarrassed, opk and pg test count as baby products, so you can still collect on them. My obsession is going to fund a few Christmas presents Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/08/2010 17:56

All the stuff I buy for DS will buy cute cute baby clothes stuff for DC2 when it turns up. It's to bad the DS is out of nappies now, they were great for collecting points!
