The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Just been to the docs for my 5th blood test. Will get results tonight. Not sure if I should even still be on this thread as no jsing allowed until I get a negative pregnancy test. Takethat I have an ectopic pregnancy that is very slowly resolving (medical way of saying miscarrying). I will be able to ttc again once I have had my next period and will get an early scan at six weeks if I fall pregnant again.

The doctor left the room and I peeked at my notes. I hadn't realised I was 8 weeks pregnant when I had my scan Shock as they don't count the small bleeding I had. It was awful as the notes had what would have been my expected due date :( :( :(

baby2b · 18/08/2010 15:22

Takethat I never seen your message before I posted. So sorry that AF has came, mother nature is very hard on us sometimes.

nmcb I never got PIAR before and just realised that I am not the only one who 'uses' those handy little jars Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/08/2010 16:04

Ah Takethat your AF arriving sucks! I promise you will feel utterly shite for the next wee while, but you will feel better when AF is finished as it is closure.
I try to tell myself it was better to lose it early on rather than a few months in, when it's all real and established. I almost convince myself!

B2B there was a big discussion about it few days/pages back. Before that I'd never even thought of buying Gu so didn't even know there were handy little jars to pee in!
How are you holding up with waiting for that bfn? I guess peeking at notes is as evil as early poas.

Right I'm putting white wine in the fridge, letting the red air. Roll on Gok and BettyGrin

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 16:25

baby2b that absolutely sucks. So sorry Sad. I really hope it gets sorted out soon. I'd 100% have peeked at the notes too - I hope you've had lots of support. I'm sure you'll make a brilliant mummy when it happens. From the bits of the thread I've read over the last couple of days it sounds like you're having a hard time too vallinna. Trying not to be Angry at nature for getting people who really don't want a baby up the duff and not us. There really is no justice.

nomorechoc I'm telling myself the same thing. It is really sad but it's what was meant to happen and the longer it had gone on without me knowing the worse it would have been. Actually I'm not berating the early tests any more - I'm glad I knew I was pregnant and I'm glad I could find out so quickly that I wasn't anymore. I'm glad I knew because it was a little life starting and it did exist, however briefly.

Anyway, 2 slices of raspberry cheesecake, 3 battenbergs, a bag of fizzy cherries and a cup of tea later and I'm feeling a lot better.

By the way, I didn't even have a ramekin spare ... had to take a tumbler to Tesco Hmm. If I'd have crashed on the way home they'd have found two used preg tests and a slightly wee-soaked tumbler in my handbag. I'd have been carted straight off to the loony bin I reckon! Also as I fled the loos trying to hold back tears a fat, baldy man looked me up and down and said 'not bad' in a pervy voice. So perhaps I'm still shagtastic even when I haven't washed my hair and I've got red, puffy eyes. I'll get onto it...

And good luck to you brassica. Sounds like you're awash with symptoms!

Thanks again ladies. xxx

baby2b · 18/08/2010 16:28

Just had a call from the doctors and my pg levels have dropped to less than 50, so I just need to wait a week and then do a pregnanct test. There is something very wrong about waiting for a bfn before I can ttc again. Tbh I am feeling really up and down. Bless mumsnet for making me laugh, today's vision of women secretly weeing in their pudding pots made me laugh. :)

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 16:34

Well bring on that BFN baby2b. Must feel like you're swimming against the tide waiting for a BFN and not a BFP. But at least you know it will definitely come. Hope those levels drop asap.

I'm thinking of saving my cheesecake case for peeing into. It has sentimental value now, for saving me from self-pity, and the good thing about it is it does up, so it's portable. I can pee in it, carry it to Tesco's, test there, come back and test again. It's all about the ability to test anywhere, any time! [don't call the police, only joking]

broughthimroundtotheidea · 18/08/2010 16:36

Oh this is a good thread.........I am still convinced I am preggers even though I have now had 3 negatives and AF!! Just can't get my head around why I feel sick on an empty stomoch, have bleeding gums, bra's all too tight etc etc and this was only our first month TTC! I seriously need to get a grip!! The internet doesn't help either, so far in the last 2 days I have convinvinced myself I have had an early M/C, and got some syndrome that makes your uterus walls stick together hence why I have light periods.
Hols in Turkey on Sat so plenty of practise to be had. (I just hope the kids club is good or it will be difficult in our Family room with our very astute 11 year old present!)
Good luck to you all x x :)

baby2b · 18/08/2010 16:46

Hi Broughthimround - step away from google! :) I think the pregnancy symptom I read about most on mumsnet is peoples AF Hmm

A holiday is the best place for babymaking jsing, so fingers crossed you get great kids club entertainers Grin

Takethat I am worried you aren't joking Hmm Grin

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 17:52

Yep, step away from google. Google is a sneaky little bastard and he will convince you that anything is a symptom of something ('hairy toes early pregnancy' anyone?, 'sneezing a sign of miscarriage' anyone else?). They should do one of those bing adverts on all the pregnancy searches you can do...

cowboylover · 18/08/2010 20:16

Im back ladies and slowly reading my way through all the posts I have missed and seen ups and downs so I hope you are all doing ok x

BrassicaBabe · 18/08/2010 20:51

cowboylover

And here I am watching fucking Celebrity Masterchef again

Hello? Who has nicked my life?! I need it back!

NervousNelly · 18/08/2010 21:36

takethat so sorry to hear your news, what a horrid situation for you :(

broughthimround hello, and yes t'internet is very dangerous! I am trying very hard to resist, but failing miserably Shock

baby2b hope you can move forward soon and get back to full on JSing :)

welcome back cowboylover

Brassicababe, I've just discovered I've missed the first episode of Ugly Betty and now worry that I have too much of a life Grin.

Just going back to twiddling thumbs waiting till I can start making up imagined pg symptoms. I think 3 days post ov might be optimistic even for someone as impatient as me Wink Blocked ears? Sore knee? Craving wine (ok that last one is rather a regular occurrence!)

BrassicaBabe · 18/08/2010 21:40

Nelly I'm 3DPO too. AF due 31st Aug. What about you?

NervousNelly · 18/08/2010 21:54

Well as this is the first month we've agreed to try, I have no idea! Don't pay that much attention normally Shock But it's fairly regular and less than a month, so I'd guess about 28th or something?

Just posted on another thread about playing the odds. 1st ever attempt, only 1 qualifying score, and it was day after OV. So anyone give me odds to play Wink I wouldn't be putting my life savings on it, that's for sure!

Plus, a little part of me wants to enjoy the JS for a few months first :). I came off the pill a year ago so since then my sexlife has been ruined by fucking condoms Angry. Sooo happy to see the back of them!

JosieSmith1 · 19/08/2010 08:55

Morning all. Today is the day ERTD is due for me so fingers crossed it doesn't arrive!

There's no sign of it yet but I'm not taking that as a given as I'm sick of second guessing myself!

At least if I'm not this month then I can JS again next month Grin

crowette · 19/08/2010 09:43

Morning ladies :) How are you all?

After a talk with the fella, I'm now going to the family planning clinic tomorrow to see if I can get my coil whipped out - it's a drop in clinic, so if busy may have to just do the paperwork - but I'm ovulating next week, so want it done tomorrow Grin it's the best chance we may have for a while!

JosieSmith1 · 19/08/2010 09:53

Good luck Crowette, hope it all gets sorted tomorrow

NervousNelly · 19/08/2010 11:09

Good luck crowette

God luck for you too Jodie, here's hoping no sign of ERTD.

Advice please guys. As you know (if you were all paying attention Wink) we have just started TTC JSing. But Dp is a very keen cyclist, does 10 miles or more most days during the week plus longer at the weekend. Sooo, should we get him checked out straight away? I would hate to think we waste time JSing when we could do something about this?

NervousNelly · 19/08/2010 11:12

Pooh wait I hope I haven't just broken a thread rule??

crowette · 19/08/2010 11:44

Thanks :)

nervousnelly there appear to mixed views on cycling affecting male fertility - but I know of a keen (ok, almost obsessive!) cyclist who is a father.

My OH is cutting down his smoking, and planning to quit altogether eventually. I'm also thinking of banning him from the steam room and jacuzzi at the gym Grin just to make our JSing more effective of course!

JosieSmith1 · 19/08/2010 11:51

Thanks NervousNelly. I must look ridiculous to my colleagues at work today, rushing off every 5 minutes to check ERTD hasn;t arrived. But I've realised, when I was on the pill I was regular as clockwork, but I never counted the cycle days so don't know if it was 28 days exactly, and most often ERTD arrived on fri/sat so might wait until sun to test if it hasn't arrived who am I kidding Grin

vallinnapod · 19/08/2010 11:54

Morning viriods,

I am in the depths of stressing that nothing is working again...no particular reason for this turn around, just frustration at the lack of info from the docs/waiting in general!

This morning I feel a bit 'periody' - not crampy but a dull aching in the general uterus vacinity and dull achy boobs. Also stupidly tired at the gym this morning, did way less than normal and felt wiped out by it. Also felt nauseous throughout.

Even though I haven't even ovulated I am of course thinking all these could be either PG or period symptoms. Seriously. Who removed my 'reasonable behaviour' chip and replaced it with 'Mad Bitch 3000'?! GAH!

Nelly - I too missed the first Ugly Betty - got the series on record from ep 2 (last night) and then have found ep 1 on Channel 4 on Saturday morning Grin As for DP. Not sure what the NHS 'rules' are on this. Worth an ask though. Could go private - you'd have to pay a consultation fee and then for the semen analysis - about £300. God, I hate I know that :( If we are going for rule breaking, I was just posting on a Clomid thread and another poster asked me what a couple of the acronyms I used were. I am such a JS failure at the mo :(

Josie - thinking non-period-like thoughts for you! Buy lots of tampons...reverse psychology!

JosieSmith1 · 19/08/2010 12:16

Thanks Vallinnapod. Trying my best to be positive but also not to get carried away! Grin

Truffkin · 19/08/2010 12:40

Hi girls, can I join in here please? Have read through previous posts and am definitely in the JS gang. I had my implanon removed a month ago and my sex drive has gone through the roof, DH doesn;t know what's hit him (in a good way!)

As I haven't had a period for 8 years (at the time a wonderful effect of implanon) I have absolutely no idea what my cycle is / was / should be like so am just going gung ho for loads of JS until such time that it feels like nothing's happening, or there's a bun in the oven.

By way of introduction, I love a good drinking binge every so often, am a bit obsessed with fan of David Beckham and can be found dancing around mentally to cheesy pop music at every possible opportunity from time to time.

NervousNelly · 19/08/2010 13:07

Vallinnapod thanks for the Betty update! Will set the Sky+ reminder tonight as I too recorded it in hope I could find the first one :). Surely your "symptoms" are win/win? Either PG (yeah!) or period, which = chance of PG (yeah again!). I hope so!!

Re the testing - can I not use a trusty ramekin and a microscope Grin. I have a friend who has some form of medical analysis job - tests blood and stuff. Maybe she can do it for us?!

Josie I'm much the same, was on the pill for about 14 years so of course I have a 28 day cycle! However came off it last year and haven't paid enough attention - didn't even know it mattered. There, think that is truly in the spirit of JS, and counters my rule-breaking faux-pas earlier Wink

crowette good to know, thanks.

Truffkin welcome along . You sound like you are in the right place!
