The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Bono in leather?! Grin

JosieSmith1 · 17/08/2010 14:20

Ha ha, Bono in his sunglasses maybe, looks a bit funny without them! Sorry!

I just broke a rule I think. Went on a website for calculating due dates and it popped up with, not only a date, but it said 'you are three weeks pregnant'! I nearly fell off my chair! It gets your hopes up saying things like that, it should have known I was just speculating! GrinAlthough, if I had got pregnant this time round I would be due the day before my own birthday!

NervousNelly · 17/08/2010 14:54

Well ok, I thought the sunglasses were a given; so Bono in leather and sunglasses :)

Jodie , step away from the Internet! Though I can't speak, I keep looking at my iPhone app waiting for it to say the same Wink

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 17/08/2010 16:41

Oh, fun a quiz!!

Crush; Keifer Sutherland (since I was 14 at least), and for some reason some of the Cbeebies guys start to look not to bad after one to many times watching them with DS.

TV; How I Meet Your Mother, I do sometimes watch trashy Neighbours of an afternoon (although not so often now DH is around more often). Sometimes I watch things like The Filth Files just so I can get a fix of the Kiwi accent (usually ofter to much neighbours and my accent starts going aussie and confusing people).

Position; lying on my tummy (like the lazy dog I am). Maybe not very exotic, but it usually does the trick Wink

DH bites his fingernails. To the extent I'm surprised his fingers aren't bloody stumps.

Cried about my chemical pregnancy. Nearly cried at something sad and baby related on TV last night (that's a side effect of having DS apparently).

Fav drinkie; white wine, beer with curry or VODKA (very yummy with copella apple juice). Can't drink much now days as am well out of practice.

Broken JSing rules. peeing on sticks more earlier than 18DPO and being FAR to interested in my pant snot (why is it there a week beffore ov anyway?!)

Baby websites. The Argos catalogue (the actual book) for prams, anywhere for prams really. And I have a few maternity sites book marked. Also signed up to the Boots baby club thing and am now to embarrassed to call up and cancel.

I've never had an imagined pg symptom because the only time I've had pg symptoms I've actually been pg. Although before I got my positive pee stick this last time DH's nail biting nearly made me throw up and was hoping I'd finally force him to break the habit.

Can't really answer #11 as have only been trying for a month and didn't even try with DS. Ask me again in a few months.

Have found myself having to refrain from using MN terms in RL.

Phew that was long. Can't think of anything to add at the minute.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 17/08/2010 16:51

Question 12. Who, if anyone have you told in RL that you are trying to get yourself knocked up (I am assuming you've told your DH/DP of course!).
I've told my bestfriend and a friend who has been through a miscarriage, as after the chem pg I needed to talk to someone. Other than that I'm just going to casually announce that I'm up the duff one day soon.

JosieSmith1 · 17/08/2010 16:55
  1. Just my best mate. Nearly everyone who knows me knows we've been thinking about it bu they think we're planning for next year (I've been so anti-kids over the years I needed to plant a seed of thought so that when I did announce I was up the duff they wouldn't all pass out!). Best mate knows everything tho to the legs in the air 'making baaaabies' scenario, to when ERTD is due! We're very close. Grin
NervousNelly · 17/08/2010 17:05
  1. No one yet but it's only been 2 days since we decided ourselves!
baby2b · 17/08/2010 17:39

Q12. Had only told my two best friends we were thinking about it and DH knew obviously. Because of what happened though, everyone knows I had been trying now Shock. Have told our parents we are going to leave it a while before trying again as both my mum and mil are desperate for grand children Biscuit

vallinnapod · 17/08/2010 18:28
  1. Both my parents know, bestie does too as she came off the pill (for being a mad cow!) and when I was having no periods I wanted to know if it was normal or not. Told another bestie who lives abroad too. I'm not adverse to telling anyone as I reckon I would want more support if things go wrong so wouldn't want people totally shocked. DH has told no one! I drink like a fish so it would be a dead give away. I never buy the antibiotics crap!
SleepyCaz · 17/08/2010 20:42

Hi Viroids!!

It's all go here isn't it? Lot's of excitement Grin

Have been sort of randomly JS'ing here. Am on CD10 here and just had a quickie before DH went to the gym, but other than that we have both been at work non stop - him on days, me on nights, or have been busy doing holiday stuff with the DC's!

Anyone know which days are best? I was going to JS like mad on CD's 12, 13, 14, and 15. But one of my best friends started her JS week today on CD9. Confused.

Good luck to us all, Viroids!

Any gossip, anyone??

PS How fucking terrifying is Phil Mitchell?!!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 17/08/2010 20:53

Sleepy I think the JSing window differs from viriod to viriod depending on cycle length, luteal phase etc etc.
This month I'm attempting to casually JSWMI every couple of days. Partly because I'm a bit worried my cycle might have been stuffed up post CP and partly because with my parents here for much of Sept I can't see much shagging of any type happening next month.

I've just gone fru (fruity Gu) and oh my goodness! Thank fruness they're to expensive to buy all the time cause if I could afford those things on a regular basis, I'd be one big fatty fat fat in a very short time! As my DS would say, Numnumnumnum! Didn't tell DH were my interest in trying fru/gu came from though (PIAR!) Grin

BrassicaBabe · 17/08/2010 21:44

Hi sleepy, consultant recommended SWI during days 10-14 of a 28 day cycle. Although he did mention that sperm can survive for 5 days. I was a bit Hmm cos I know that's technically true, but not particularly helpful advice for someone ttc, but more a scare tactic for a randy 16 year old Wink

I've got a new "symptom" at 2DPO - I could fart for England in the Fart-Olympics Blush

Although to counter fake symptomes I'm currently glugging a glass of wine using the "well if I am pg it doesn't impant for at least another week" excuse to self Grin

Double standards eh?! Confused

Fruity Gu sounds positively healthy and weight reducing nomore And you never know when you are going to need a spare ramekin to pee in!!

JosieSmith1 · 18/08/2010 09:53

Well you can all say 'I told you so' Grin. Couldn't put off anymore so I PdOAS yesterday twice and got BFN.

Still got till tomorrow for ERTD to arrive though so it's not over yet! Grin

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 10:14

Hello ladies

The thread went a bit mental in my absence so I may have missed out on news.

I think I'm back. My boobs stopped hurting so I thought I'd take a temp this morning and it was back to usual levels. So I drove off on my own to the nearest Tesco's (20 mins on a dual carriageway) and took my ramekin with me. Peed on a Digital Clear Blue in the Tesco toilets. Not Pregnant. Did a Tesco's own and there is still a faint line but I guess that's residual hormones.

Cried in the toilets, cried in the car all the way home, sobbed like a baby when I told DH, and now have to face five friends, mum, dad, nan, brother, stepdad, stepmum, parents-in-law (we spent a day with them talking it all through), three sisters-in-law, midwife, and doctor, and tell them the news. Why did I tell everybody?

Have spent ages googling faulty digital Clearblues and it seems it's possible, but with my loss of symptoms I know in my heart it's over.

Feel like an idiot as other ladies on here have taken it so well when this happens, and I'm a mess. I'll probably do another digi later just to check before we tell everybody.

Really sorry to bring the thread down. Loving your crazy symptom-spotting brassica, and glad to get to hang out with you ladies again. Wish AF would arrive now so I could have some closure on it. No spotting or anything at the moment.

:( :( :(

baby2b · 18/08/2010 10:33

Hey takethatlady, really sorry to hear what you are going through. Don't feel bad about ranting on here. I have been a combination of a mess and in denial over the past couple of weeks. Got doctors again for my fourth blood test today :(

If it's not too upsetting I was wondering if the doctor was helpful or was it just wait and see? Its the waiting that is the worst. What cd were you on?

Big hugs x

vallinnapod · 18/08/2010 10:34

takethat - huge hugs sweetie. Crappy, crappy news. The irony of being so tuned into to our bodies and testing 'early' is that I guess if we were all blase, chilled bunnies we wouldn't get our hopes up so much. I hate mother nature at the moment - something that is so natural (and appears so common in EVERYONE else) appears to be evading us :(

PS - kudo for the mobile ramekin xxxxxx

BrassicaBabe · 18/08/2010 10:39

Oh fuck takethat Really sorry. Sad Have you got any mc symptoms or just missing pg symptoms? The digital ones aren't very sensitive at all from what I hear.

Was very ShockSad to see your post.

Hope you've got some company and a good DVD to take your mind off things.

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 10:49

Thanks so much ladies this is the best thread ever. I was hoping to get kudos for the mobile ramekin but that was when i had hope the test would say pregnant 2-3. DH is a teacher so he's off and he's being lovely, as ever. Off to get another digi to confirm, the biggest chocolate pudding I can lay my hands on, and some terrible rom-coms. Feeling better though now it has sunk in a bit.

baby I haven't phoned the doctor yet, or the midwife. Not sure if I'll even be able to speak to the doctor -what did you do? Big hugs to you all too. This babymaking thing needs to get fun again asap! I have no mc symptoms - no spotting or bleeding. Yesterday loads of creamy cm (tmi) which I thought was a preg symptom but maybe it's period coming ...

baby2b · 18/08/2010 10:54

I'm not sure whether to put this or not..as I don't know what your docs said, but I have read and been told that loss of symptoms early on isn't a reliable indicator. So what I am trying to say is take it easy and if you have some spotting and/or pain then go back to the docs. x

baby2b · 18/08/2010 11:00

Crossed messages, but basically the above. Avoid the clear blue test with the conception indicator they are rubbish! I know it isn't what you want to hear, but you should wait a week and then test again. If AF comes then wait two weeks and test again as its not a cert either. Even once your af comes you have the hormone for a week after so its not worth putting yourself through the added stress of looking at the tests before then. Trust me I have done loads!

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 11:01

Thanks baby2b. The doctor hasn't said anything - I haven't asked! it's just the damn Clear Blue - twice it said 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' (on Saturday and Sunday) and today 'not pregnant'. There is a faint line on the Tesco test though.

I'll try to relax about it. I know that whatever is meant to be is meant to be, an there's no point thinking anything else would or should have happened. At least we know we can get pregnant now, whatever happens this time around. I've also read that it could be blighted ovum so there'd be no actual bleeding, or it could be that it takes a couple of weeks before my body realises it needs to shed everything.

So it could be anything! Damn early tests - they were sent from the devil!

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 11:44

baby2b does this mean there's still hope for you? Smile if there is

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/08/2010 12:30

Oh Takethat I'm sorry you in this horrid limbo of 'am I still or not?'
Please please dont' think I've handled my CP well, because it turns out after a couple of glasses of wine, I'm not. Think I'm feeling better about it this week because AF has been and gone so I've had that closure. Was unsure if I wanted to try this month, but a conversation with DH yesterday made me realise I've made the right decsion and there is nothing to be gained by waiting around for the right time.
Fingers crossed your body tells you yeah or nay soon. [hug emoticon][glass of wine for later emoticon]

Brassica whether it be fru or gu the only reason I'd loose weight eating them is my lactose intolerence, but that's getting into way TMI territory! Went to Sainsburys this morning and their selection was huge compared to Morrisons. Haven't told DH the alternative life Gu ramekins lead Grin

takethatlady · 18/08/2010 13:17

Hello girls,

Well I'm officially back on this thread now. Did another digital - not pregnant, and noticed while I was doing it that I have started to bleed.

Just the painful phone calls to make now.

Thanks so much for all your support. I'm off to Tesco's (again) to buy Gu puds, Fru puds, and any other kind of pud they've got ...

Roll on next month.

JosieSmith1 · 18/08/2010 14:16

Takethat I'm so so sorry!

Chocolate pud is definitely the way forward. Hope you're doing as ok as you can be. I've been there and it's probably the hardest thing you'll ever go through but you will get through it I promise.
