The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Feck it. Can't take anymore, in the house on my own. DH not in from work yet. Going to go to the pub. 4 walls of house have turned into a prison.

takethatlady · 11/08/2010 09:01

Hi there baby2b, so sad to hear your news. Sad Sad Sad Never worry about 'dumping' on here, - it's not possible. I hope that even though you don't get to go on holiday it does mean that you and DH can have a week to yourselves instead now, and that he takes lots of care of you.

Good luck today brassica.

JKS I have a dodgy tummy too. Very dodgy, though I feel fine apart from that and some backache. My mum, on the phone said, 'it's the drinking'. Wish I had a kipper for her.
10 dpo. No other symptoms. Sure I'm not preg, but have no cheapies left in my drawer after last month's disaster. Don't even have a ramekin yet Shock. But totally tempted to drive 20 minutes to the nearest shop that sells both ramekins and sticks and swirl up some pee.

JosieSmith1 · 11/08/2010 09:47

My friend's cousin went into labour yesterday. Last I heard was that she was having an epidural as the baby was spine to spine (think that's right) and it was causing her a lot of pain! That was last night, hope things have moved along by now!

vallinnapod · 11/08/2010 10:06

Oh baby2b Sad what horrible news. I'd say I hope you feel better soon but it just sounds silly Blush This is THE place to dump. Typing stuff and saying it out loud - even to a computer screen - really does help you rationalise.

Brassica GL for today - I'll be thinking of you when I have my legs akimbo at lunch (for dildocam V, nothing naughty!) One tip, write down all the questions you have before you go in as if you are like me you'll get all caught up in the moment and forget to ask anything!

baby2b · 11/08/2010 10:12

Thank you guys, I feel a lot better after getting it off my chest and having a decent sleep. The early pregnancy unit were amazing and got my results to me so fast. I wish I had went to them sooner, rather than listening to family planning and NHS direct and just waiting. My family planning don't take you seriously until you have missed a period, so no more early testing for me. Though technically I had missed the previous one as it was only a light one and the lady was a numpty!

How is everyone else doing? Any news JKS? Do we have many people on the dreaded 2ww? We seem to have a lot of naughty cycles this month.

SleepyCaz · 11/08/2010 10:48

B2b, thinking of you. This IS the best ventingg place, like everyone said. Your local PCT sound a bit shit. Poor you.

Am doing shit here. All grumpy and irrational, poor DH! Grin

Keep hoping the mini-AF was implantation bleeding, even though was too much for that, and at a wierd time.

Gah. Need to start temp-taking, I guess. Is it really only any use if you do it before you get up in the morning?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 11/08/2010 12:05

Lunch time. Well I guess there will be legs a-kimbo round about now then!

That truely sucks for you baby2b. There are lots of 'helpful' things I could say, but I won't because lets face it, they're not really helpful at all. Hugs instead. (there really needs to be a hug emoticon)

JosieSmith1 · 11/08/2010 13:04

I am imagining a room full of women with legs akimbo a la gym classes! Grin And open....

baby2b I'm really sorry to hear your news. That happened to my auntie many years before I was born and she was very ill so at least you found it early on. She went on to have a daughter who is my fabulous cousin. Don't give up hope.

JustKeepSwimming · 11/08/2010 13:15

Well I am still pg Grin

Test this morning slightly more definite and DH seems convinced finally! (weirdo)

Have horrid taste in my mouth all the time - explains massive weight gain in previous pgs i guess!

Am planning to buy an expensive one that says the word 'pregnant' to truly convince dh later.

Oh and i've got a mum's evening pizza night later, so will have to tell them as they will know the second i don't drink a bottle glass of wine Grin

JosieSmith1 · 11/08/2010 13:34

Ha ha JKS I think if it was me I'd have to have one that said 'pregnant' before I believed it!

BrassicaBabe · 11/08/2010 13:50

I'm back. I have Clomid.

Well that appointment was most odd. We did; height, weight, brief medical history questions then it was quick internal [yuck] and I've come away with paperwork for blood tests on day 21 and day 1, an appointment will be in the post for an x-ray to check if tubes are blocked and a prescription for 4 months of clomid.

We were there quite a while. But they didn't ask how often we were having sex, whether DH comes or anything else cringworthy. He didn't mention my age (37!!). I'm very grateful he wasn't from the School of Stating the Bleeding Obvious Wink

But the clomid approach is quite different to vallinna's. He doesn't care what goes on inside. There are no scans to check progress or measure linings. Just take the pills and try to get pg. This approach is fine if it works, but vallinnas approach will be better if there are problems and it doesn't work. So at the moment I'm undecided. Relieved that there won't be numerous dildo-cam experiences. (Quite disappointed there wil be no photo for the piano though Wink) Although die squirted into uterus for xray purposes doesn't sound like much fun.

Clomid doesn't start until day 1 of next cycle. So we will be SWI late this week hoping drugs won't be needed.

Oh, and I've got to cut down on my alcohol Sad Can I not cut something else out instead?! Brussel sprouts or something I don't like?! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 11/08/2010 14:00

Oooh congratulations JKS! Great news!

Just one more expensive stick to buy before you can give the habit up Wink

vallinnapod · 11/08/2010 14:34

Hey Brassica - glad it wasn't too awful! Crazy how the approach differs depending on where you are isn't it?!

Scan today was fine. Follicles growing and lining has doubled in thickness. Back Monday for an update. It will be 'CD16' then so told DH we need to SWI all w/e just in case I hatch early Wink

BrassicaBabe · 11/08/2010 14:47

Yeah for shagging all weekend. I'm day 14 on Monday. So I'm with you on that one.

takethatlady · 11/08/2010 14:59

Congrats vallinna - sounds like things are going as they should.

And double congrats JKS. Lol re: your DH. Mine was exactly the same when I got a BFP (except he was right cos I fiddled about with the test and that's why it was a BFP - whoops!)

I am sick of seven week bloody cycles. Did a test today BFN. Way too early to test. Have had back ache for about four days though, don't know what else it can be from (except lying down Grin). But three or four fertile days every seven weeks is Not. Enough. Dammit. Angry

Better get back to work. Have three hours to surf the internet write 8000 words.

JustKeepSwimming · 11/08/2010 16:09

ClearBlue says....Pregnant Grin

Dh believes me now & admits he didn't really before Hmm (nutter)

Brassica - glad there is a plan. And with you totally on cutting down on alcohol, missing it already!! Blush
(in my defence i have been making the most of not being pg recently and drinking lots!)

Vallinna - that's all sounding more positive, get JSing!!

Takethat - i was having 35-ish day cycles and that was bloody long enough to wait, so my sympathies.

Good luck JSers :)

baby2b · 11/08/2010 17:50

Congrats JKS! That is wonderful news. Grin I have no idea how people keep it a secret. The lack of drinking always gives it away!

Good luck to everyone else x

takethatlady · 11/08/2010 23:34

Congras jks. My friend who is a week overdue said I should take agnus castus for my 49 day cycles? Do you guys agree? (I am drunk as I write this so I am not totally giving up on the JS spirit!)

JustKeepSwimming · 12/08/2010 09:34

Have heard good stuff about AC but never tried it myself.

BrassicaBabe · 12/08/2010 09:35

Hiya

I took angus castus to get my cycles going after the pill. But stopped as soon as the first period arrived. I'm not sure if angus castus and the possibility of pregnancy go together though.

I've moved from large glasses of wine in the evening to pimms hoping this will look like I'm cutting down on my alcohol intake Wink

Proper congruatulations to JKS too now that her DH believes her Grin

Oh, and I forgot to mention yesterday. I got [cats bum face] and no comment from the consultant yesterday when I mentioned OPKs. frak would approve!!

I had a peak over on antenatal Blush threads and there is no JSing thread yet!

takethatlady · 12/08/2010 09:48

I totally forgot I posted that! Went out for wine and tapas and came in a leeetle bit drunk Blush. I am seriously considering giving up alcohol - my intake has gone through the roof since ttc. Every time ANYBODY invites me out for ANYTHING I think, 'well, this could be the last time I get the chance'. I've been doing that for nearly five months now!

If AC means you can't get preggo that month then I'm not bloody bothering. I'm sure I've not been successful this month (despite shagging twice 3 days before OV, once the day before, and once the actual day of it). AF due Monday though, so I suppose there's hope (unless I've poisoned the little blighter with wine).

Pimms is a great idea brassica (unless you drink it neat Wink)

Well, I'd better get back to my busy day of watching Jeremy Kyle, pretending to write the billions of words I should have written aaaaggggeeess ago, and trying to dodge phone calls from my annoying mother so she doesn't hear the vomity drunk in my voice...

vallinnapod · 12/08/2010 11:45

takethat - tried AC for a month and it made no difference whatsoever for me. With all things herbal I think it takes a while to 'work'. They often say several months. I have heard conflicting things about it and the general consensus seems to be you wouldn't self-prescribe 'drug' drugs so you should really see a homeopath before taking herbal stuff. I just thought it was more expensive bollocks Grin

Totally with you ladies on the drinking MORE when we decided to TTC with the whole 'could be the last' feeling going on. 'Completely' stopped now on the Clomid...bar the 2 glasses of red wine with my steak on Saturday...but only becuase it is costing us a fortune in scans and if it isn't successful I don't want to be able to think it was because I got twatted! Just that I am a twat Grin

BrassicaBabe · 12/08/2010 18:19

Pimms and lemonade is a good idea. Pimms and champagne or pimms, lemonade AND gin is a bad idea!! Grin Just thought I'd share Wink

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/08/2010 19:01

Risotto for dinner tonight. Risotto needs half a cup of wine out of that lovely looking unopened bottle of wine and DH doesn't drink. Oh dear! Looks like lots of wine for this bikkieless bunny tonight.

Roll on dissapproving looks and narky comments from DH in the NoMoreBikkies household tonight.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/08/2010 19:02

PS JKS cannae remember if I said congratulations yet. Congratulations Grin.
