Just to start us off.

May this be a happy and lucky thread for all of us.

OP posts:
thefatladyscreams · 03/09/2010 09:59

Thanks Hippy - reality is just starting to dawn. I've been very lucky and had an easy pregnancy so far and therefore been quite relaxed that the labour will follow suit (can hear you all howling at my naivity). Penny is just starting to drop that that might not be the case! Just covered all the intervention options etc in NCT classes - but heyho forewarned is forearmed and all that!

Messages were already withdrawn when I logged on last night.

Sassy - have this worrying confusion of images of SWI mixed with "to boldly go" and my mind is boggling! Grin

thefatladyscreams · 03/09/2010 10:00

Diege - just crossed threads. Sorry about AF.

Diege · 03/09/2010 10:15

TFLS, af's fine (I had a very early chemical pregnancy I think,so was fully expected...just a little concerned about LP!).
Oh and I think I understand the basis of the witdrawn messages but if I explain may defeat the purpose of them being withdrawn if that makes sense (ps - not to do with me,and also not very exciting but I can see why they were withdrawn if that makes sense? Confused

Beattiebow · 03/09/2010 10:28

story behind withdrawn messages is probably not very interesting Wink

jollster glad the move went ok, athough difficult. I think you are admirable for being positive - I would probably be a wreck by now. Look on the bright side - you will be able to buy a huge house when prices carry on falling here. There's a vg nursery where you are now isn't there? will ds be going to it?

diege sorry about af.

sassy Catherine is one of my favourite names - and that spelling is the best imo. my 9 yo started off girly and still is - aiming for short skirts rather than pink frills now mind. Actually I think I would like another girl too

hippy have massaged the stats on ff a bit - but now it thinks i have ov'ed later - temps going up a little bit each day. I don't think I have oved though as haven't had any other signs. It's all very confusing. If I have ov'ed when it said I did, I don't have a chance this month.

I haven't got any pg tests though, so can't test, and also my more rational view is that as it wasn't just spotting last week, (although rtd only lasted a couple of days), my money's on hormonal blip.

just in case, I am carrying on swi/woi, last night - got down to some action with dh only to be interrupted by au pair Blush. I don't think she saw anything much

SassySusan · 03/09/2010 12:38

I saw the deleted messages... (don't tell anyone... but) apparently the poster is invovled in a 3 way love triangle with a drugs baron and one of those Kenyan Civil Servants who are always asking you to embezzle money out of their country. Her specific dilemma was that she now has to tell them neither are the father...

ok, ok... it was nothing like that at all...

TFLS oh, is this a first baby... how lovely! I think the think that really gets you is you can't imagine how much you love your kids...

Hippy That was absolutely the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a bloody long time - yes, that is exactly what I would like xx And thank you too Beatiebow - I had you down for a boy... but you've changed your mind... quite right boys are made of puppy dogs tails and have foul smelling socks... Diege you are on your own I'm afraid...

Diege · 03/09/2010 13:32

Hee hee, very funny Sassy Grin
Def another boy for me I'd say - in fact you've inspired me to add an up to date piccy of Jacob on my profile (first piccy) - taking dd3's silver bag and stuffing his toy car into it Grin
Beattie tell more about you being interrupted..was it as bad as it sounds? Grin

djinnie · 03/09/2010 13:50

haha at sassy Grin v funny!

Thanks for the explanation re:chemical pregnancies. I guess I would still have expected to see AF as usual? But still not here CD 43. Blimey. Never had so long between them. GP says he will do blood test next week and then a scan possibly in a few weeks to see what is going on. He wants me to do a pregnancy test again tomorrow.

I'm in a bizarre situation where every day I'm happy AF isn't here and yet realistically ... with 2 x BFNs ... what is there to hope for?? Confused I don't want hope. I want what I've always had - zero expectations! :( I don't want to be gutted. This is the closest I have ever come to making the dream a reality. Argh.

Anyway... ho hum.

If you ladies like shabby chic etc you'd love my website (cushions, throws, vintage, embroidered etc etc) but I don't think I'd better put a link up I might get booted Grin

SassySusan · 03/09/2010 14:00

Oh put a link up djinnie I haven't been shopping for ages...

I think there are cases of ladies getting bfns for ages when they are pg.. Do you think it could be stress? You sound like you really want to be pg - very cheeky of me to ask, but have you considered donor sperm?

SassySusan · 03/09/2010 14:02

Awww diege Jacob - what a total sweetie Grin

djinnie · 03/09/2010 14:20

OK link, here

www.bluedogcushioncompany.co.uk

Have a good browse!! I still work full time so it's just a small company. Difficult to get it going properly but a labour of love of all the things I love - largely fair trade too! The ethics of manufacturing are important to me.

sassy Cheeky maybe but ... yes we have is the honest answer. We're in the process of talking about it. But of course I need to be on a regular cycle to make it happen!! And now this.... after I've been like clockwork.

So, is that true then... you can get bfns for a while? Hmmm. Oh dear. Can't cope with the am I aren't I situation!! Grin

hippychick66 · 03/09/2010 15:22

sassy so pleased I said somnething nice that made you feel good. I do feel confident that you will have another little one and that you will one day sit down and tell them all about their big sis. But if you get a boy - don't buy him dresses Grin

diege is that you in the photos?? You look very young and glamorous!!

beattie how funny about getting caught. So you have a live in au pair - how posh!! I will take it from you that the removed messages are nothing of interest and just a slip up Wink.

Someone on my other thread (charters anon) started a thread recently that got so heated that they have removed the whole thread - BEFORE I GOT THE CHANCE TO READ IT!!!! Not sure what went on but am now, of course, dead curious Hmm

As for me - I'm 9 days after ov ( i think). Nothing to report at all!!! No sign of AF but not much of a sign of Preg either. Too early to test (last tme I got a pos 13 days after Ov). So will just have to wait and see. As i said before, i'm waiting for my boobs to tell me I'm preg. Still it's day 21 and no spotting yet so i will take that as a teeny tiny good sign cos I usually have 23/24 day cycles with spotting starting anywhere around day 20 Grin

My new book arrived from amazon today - Inconceivable - about a woman who had an FSH level of 42 and was told she wouldn't have any more children - I wont spoil the surprise but i think it has a happy ending!!!

Ohhhh just got a tweaky pain in my left boob Hmm

hippychick66 · 03/09/2010 15:23

ps. djinnie you've done it now. sassy will be 'virtual' shopping from your website - this place is gonna get crowded!!! Grin

Diege · 03/09/2010 17:02

Yes, but did it feel like your left boob Hippy? GrinPh and yes,tis me in the photos..I do look young for my age I'll admit(when I said I had a 'big' birthday coming up to my students, they thought it was my 30th Grin) but glam no,def not glam!
Djinnie shabby chic is what I aspire to form my house,so will def have a nosey at your website Smile. FWIWI didn;t get a pos with dd1 until 2.5 weeks after period was late..
Thanks Sassy! J is very cute but incredibly hard work at the moment - that funny stage when they are so frustrated with everything they just constantly screech and paw at your legs!

SassySusan · 03/09/2010 17:16

OK, so my heart is still jumping... have just come back from Dr Thong (yes, that really is his name....) Nurse Big Knickers wasn't around.

Had the results from the state of my ovary test - apparently I am above average for a woman of my age, so all good - and the advice is the same, we should carry on naturally - and not think about IVF until next April.

I asked about egg donation - as this gives you a 50% chance of success, compared to 15 to 20% with your own eggs. He said the way to do it was go to Spain, where there is no wait for eggs - and we could do it immediately. Seem to remember that Italian is on a 10 month waiting list - so what's all that about then? Confused!

He seems to think it costs £8 to £10K... He also said it would be reasonable to have a bash at my own eggs - and the wait of a year wasn't an issue given my egg reserve. But it was up to us, as the chance of success was lower... and the risk of abnormalities was higher.

It's almost too much to take in... and I still feel wobbly... I think I need a hug!

Right.. will pop up the thread and catch up later xx

Diege · 03/09/2010 18:08

Big big hug sassy that's great news!!! So I presume the plan is to keep SWI for a while yet without any interventions? I just know things are going to go well for you,I feel it in my bones I tell you!! Grin

djinnie · 03/09/2010 18:46

Hey diege thanks for the info :-) 2.5 weeks. Were you not going spare?

((hug)) sassy.

Diege · 03/09/2010 18:57

I was actually worried that I could be pregnant (was 4 hrs late with one of my mini pills and had only been seeing dh 4 mths Blushso every negative I did was a relief...then I totally went off my food, felt tired beyind belief, and got a strong pos after several whiter than white negs. Oh that it could be so easy now!

djinnie · 03/09/2010 19:05

Oh!! LOL! Hmmmmm.

SassySusan · 03/09/2010 19:54

Thanks Diege and Djinnie
Heart rate has returned to normal. Apparently Dr T. thinks our success rater is about half that of a young lassie per cycle - he always has such cheery news...

So yes, the plan is to SWI...

I think I am going to go and get drunk now though, because:
(a) I have AF and am allowed
(b) Actually, I deserve it

Grin

Hippy I hope your boobs are as sore as hell by tomorrow Blush
Djinnie fingers crossed for you x

Everyone else can get drunk too Grin

Diege · 03/09/2010 20:29

Hey half the chance of a young-un is actually pretty good! I read somewhere that avergare chace per cycle in 20s/3os is 15-25%,and 40s is 5% Shock. So I'm averaging you out Sassy at about 20% Grin. You go and drink the place dry now, you deserve it!

SassySusan · 03/09/2010 21:00

Hic ... hic....

He actually said your chance if you're 20 is about 25% per cycle - and at 40, we have about half that - so about 1 in 8 per cycle. This will be attempt 6 for me... so it's aboot bloody time!

He also said we had to have a good time. I think that is medical advice... so I have been looking at flights to Marseille Grin

Right now, back to looing for a nice ethnic throw....

muchlove · 03/09/2010 21:40

Wow SASSY that's great news was that from a blood test or a scan of your ovaries?
Was it the AMH test or FSH test? Sorry so many questions but I'm curious (how exciting) now I think you should maybe give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go.... google it and read up, I got preggo 3 times out of 4 in 1 year with this.... you have to use OPK's and do it 3 nights in a row but I'm proof it can work and like the other ladies have said I gotta a good feeling for you also (cheers on sassy in a cheerleader styleee)....Oh and sending you a virtual hug
Sorry bout ya AF/CP DIEGE what a bummer but onwards and upwards eh? Defo stay on the B6 for your LP.....why can't I look at your young glam pic ?? (Said in a sulky way)
HIPPY I know what you mean about the boobs I get exactly the same when I'm PG, they become almost alien, like they not mine and belong to someone else...so when you gonna test then? Monday sounds good.... That book is spose to be very good so please read from cover to cover then report back by Tuesday...
DJINNI Gonna check out your website when I get a mo, sorry you sitting in no-mans land not knowing whats going on
BEATTIE How funny/embarrassing bout your Au-pair do you thnk she may be having a giggle bout it with her friends
Hey GUM the Spirit babies book sounds lovely I am a true believer in all things mystical and spiritual ....have been told by several psychics (yes quite a fewConfused) that the first baby I lost last year was a girl and that my nan is looking after her, but the strange thing is before I lost I had a strong feeling it was a girl and I feel my subsequent losses have been boys) strange but just an intuition/feeling I had...and I was right with all my boys

Yes I have 4 boys Shock who I love more than life itself but in answer to your previous question SASSY I guess I would love a little girl also ....but as time and losses are mounting up now I would be glad just to hold a healthy newborn. I can't help but feel my dream slipping away though (stupid bloody intuition/gut feeling !!)
I just wish there was something I could take to get me a good egg ....HIPPY anything in that book yet ??? Anything... a spell or a potion...or a wonder drug...???? Find it and bring it to me ....she says stroking her white cat BWAhahahaha ......

Hello to everyone else xxxxx

hippychick66 · 03/09/2010 21:40

Here's a hug for you sas - (hippy shoves diege back).

I'm sure you wont need to do IVF. Can I ask how he knows you are such a fertile murtle?? Did you have good FSH levels??

As my old mate diege will tell you sassy - my boobs don't really get sore but they do start to feel like they don't belong to me - IYSWIM. This caused great amusement a few months back when i said my boobs didn't feel like mine and diege told me to get off cos that one was hers - oh how we laughed..... Grin

Not much to report here. Day 23 tomorrow and no spotting yet but I am not going to get all excited and test early Hmm

I think the reason that italian is on a long waiting list is cos she wanted to do the treatment in this country. When i went to the fertility show (back in Nov) they were selling the idea of doner eggs in spain - like a quick get away holiday. Sun sand and doner eggs Grin

djinnie - that's exciting news what diege said about her BFP taking so long. God you must be going out of your freakin' head lovie!

hippychick66 · 03/09/2010 21:45

crossed posts with you muchlove and seem to have grilled sassy in much the same way as you.

What the blathering hell is the sperm meets egg method???? I thought that was a given when getting preggoGrin. tell me more....

Will not be testing yet Hmm

Will read the book asap muchlove

hippychick66 · 03/09/2010 21:50

OK i read the sperm meets egg plan - sounds like a lot of shaggin' !!! Grin
