Just to start us off.

May this be a happy and lucky thread for all of us.

OP posts:
Diege · 01/09/2010 19:09

Thanks Hippy! My current obsessive thought is that I have some sort of tumour lurking that is sporadically producing hcg (as they do apparently) hence the strong-ish bfp on 7PO though I know rationally that this not something that has any grounding..far more likely to be a chemical preg (in fact if I started to get faint positives again I would be worried!).
I think I'll leave the B6 for now as AC seems to be doing what it should and I'm not sure where separate B vits fit in alongside my posh marilyn glenville supplements Confused.
Can we put the new fire on now please?

SassySusan · 01/09/2010 20:58

(throws another log on the fire)

Hey, I got us this too.

I have to own up, my house is Edwardian, and my style is more shabby chic and Kath Kidston - but I dunno - the thread just spoke to me... it was saying clothe me in funky contemporary furniture...

Pours all the non-pregnant ladies on the thread one of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=imgs.sfgate.com/c/pictures/2006/11/17/wi_sippingnews15_093.jpg&imgrefurl=articles.sfgate.com/2006-11-17/wine/17322574_1_classic-drinks-lemonade-gin&h=442&w=287&sz=19&tbnid=2c_MzNetfDK_nM:&tbnh=127&tbnw=82&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpimms%2Bcocktails&zoom=1&usg=__bhW0WDONsvJWCDaZ4mC1f8davZo=&sa=X&ei=wK9-TIaFOYzG4ga9-P3YBg&ved=0CCwQ9QEwAw" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">these

Hippy seeing as you supplied the main ingreedient, I think you ought to have the first one... I'm not sure you should be drinking though!

Now all we need is some lighting... and some muzac....

Diege · 01/09/2010 21:10

ooh yes very nice (and you don't fool me with your Kath Kidson disguiseWink,it's the same table as in your front room isn't it? Grin. I wonder what we can put in the tray thing? Maybe ice and bottles of fizz for when the next bfp comes up?

Diege · 01/09/2010 21:11

Could we have 'Come on Eileen' as our music for tonight?

SassySusan · 01/09/2010 22:02

Absolutely - mine's a sparkling rose - thanks.... We better save the Champagne for the 12 week scans Grin

Have to admit, I keep humming (to the tune of Bros, When will I be famous)
"When will I, will I be pregnant - I quite fancy that, I quite fancy that...."

Just as well we're not trying to adopt - I think we might fail the psychological assessment Grin

Diege · 01/09/2010 22:14

Would a baby-cham be appropriate??
Off to stare morosely at my neg sticks, all lined up quite neatly on the windowsil Blushto enable best possible scrutiny...
Then off to bed - Sassy can I trust you to turn the fire off?I have slight OCD and will be back and forth checking otherwise...night all!

SassySusan · 01/09/2010 22:26

Absolutely Diege I am extremely responsible Grin

Next month Diege Next month... I think I have a good feeling about it. xx

gumblossom · 02/09/2010 00:26

Me too Sassy - I have a good feeling about this month. I've always wanted a June baby so I can call it "June-bug" while I'm pregnant. I don't know why...my LO was called "Mungo-fish" during his pregnancy. Hubby wanted to call him Mungo, but I just couldn't do that to him!

Still reading about spirit babies. I really love what he says about our babies being out there, waiting for the right time. He also explains miscarriage in a lovely way.It is very comforting, but I do think that many people would find it all a bit too "out there". I'm open to all sorts of stuff, so I'm happy to go with it. It doesn't dismiss religion either, which I quite like. Anyway, I couldn't possibly condense it, I think you'd have to read it and make up your own mind. He suggests that we can call our babies to us with chants. I'm not sure how often I'll get to do that, but I'm willing to give it a go.
This is where you can see the book:www.waltermakichen.com/

Thankyou Sassy for setting up such a great place, and getting the drinks. I have to confess that I've never tasted Pimms, but it does look nice.I'll make some sushi to have with it.

Deige, I think your theory about a CP is most likely. I'm sure it isn't anything sinister.

I hope you don't all do the "friendship back-off" now that you know I'm so loopy that I'd chant to get a baby!

Beattiebow · 02/09/2010 07:12

sorry here is a self indulgent post coming up...

ff has just said that I ovulated on day 9 which is the day after I had the spotting. This is absolutely unheard of for me, and I had no other symptoms at all. (usually feel very erm horny for eg). Temps have been getting higher for days. Do you think it would be really silly to do a pg test? I am wondering whether the 2 day period I had last week was really a period. (It came 10 days post ov) is this really a stupid idea and I am fooling myself? (my temp probably did drop below coverline for at least one day).

Most of the temps over the last 10 days are probably quite unreliable (I didn't even take my temp for a few days due to travelling), as I was moving around, and sleeping very badly with various dcs in caravans etc! the high temps since I got back probably are accurate though.

sorry am just confused, but have been feeling sick for a few days now too.

(luckily did do The Deed once if I have ov'd on day 9).

galwaygal · 02/09/2010 07:45

Beattie - there must be something in the moon-phase or whatever. My cycle is completely messed up too!

Boo-hoo Sad, I am on cd 19 and 9days post ov, and af arrived this morning, what is going on. I haven't had a 19day cycle since I was a teenager. I need a G&T and fast.

SassySusan · 02/09/2010 08:41

Beattie Why not test to set your mind at rest. I don't think you could be pg if you bled for 2 days - unless you mean it was just spotting?

GG Bit early for G&T - sorry to hear about af. Maybe all our cycles are going into sync, like they do when women live together??

Gumblossom It's the way of the world, isn't it? Your start by charting and end up chanting Grin

Diege · 02/09/2010 09:05

I like the idea of spirit babies too Gum; in fact a friend of my mum told me that she 'saw' my children waiting (she called them cloud babies) and that there was a little boy who had been waiting quite a while(I had ds after 3 dds last summer). She also said that some babies were very 'new', while others had been here before in past lives ConfusedI don't think it does any harm to read up and also take comfort from some of the accounts in books like these xx
Beattie the timing of the 'af' does seem odd, and would fit with the ovulation/implantation temps (implantation dip can be below the coverline). I think if youn were pregnant you would certainly get a pos now if bleeding has been and gone.
Galway are you sure early af couldn't be implantation spotting?
Sassy yes here's to June babies. I had one last year (June 13th) so can attest that it's a lovely time of year to have a baby, other than the post-baby body issues and hot weather Grin
Happy about the chemical pregnancy theory now as still bfn this morning and temps still high enough to think that I have a few days of my LP left for there not to be issues. 11 days past ov today so an improvement on the 9 days LP that I've had for much of the last few months!

SassySusan · 02/09/2010 09:23

Diege Well, sorry to hear about the bfn Sad

Just out of interest... assuming everyone gets pg, and assuming they are all sticky... and healthy... and born with 10, 10, 10 APGAR scores... what would you like? Boy or Girl?

Diege · 02/09/2010 09:50

Sassy Am actually pleased that it was a clear bfn this morning as it fits with my chemical preg theory. I would have been a little freaked out to get a faint pos!
RE: boy or girl, I'd like a little brother for ds so he doesn't feel too 'overwhelmed' by his sisters Grin. Actually looked at the Chinese gener prediction clanader yesterday (it's been right for all my Los) and next month's dc would be a boy, then it's pretty much boy girl boy girl for the next 6 mths! Anyone else had a peek at it?

galwaygal · 02/09/2010 10:26

Interestingly the chinese prediction calender was wrong for each of my children! I would love a girl so my dd can have a sister.

Beattie - yes you should definitely test. In case those high temps are genuine and the bleeding was break-though bleeding or implantation bleeding.

Deige - yes I was hoping it was implantation bleeding, but the negative test, cramps and amount, make me think it is just a stupid mixed up pre-meonopausal hormonal blip! But for you I think that you had a dogdy batch of tests and that you are still in the running for a possible yes! See I can't apply the same logic to both of us, so it must be hormonal Grin

Diege · 02/09/2010 11:17

GrinI think the Chinese thingy is wrong for most people actually GrinDoes sound like you've had one of those cycles Sad - I think we all get a 'blip'cycle every now and again, regardless of age, so wouldn;t read too much into it. I wonder if there was something 'chemically' going on with you too? I've decided to clean up my act food wise (I'm not overweight as but eat a LOT of sugar). I also need to convince myself that fruit is nice and eat more sweet pots (which I love) as I read something yesterday about them raising progesterone levels if eaten frequently in first half of cycle. Actually I'll order some in for us, along with a rather swanky slanket box that I've seen Grin

Beattiebow · 02/09/2010 12:27

I have come to my senses now and decided that I am just having a pre-menopausal blip cycle too, and the most likely explanation is that my temps are inaccurate so FF is wrong and I haven't actually ov'ed yet. Will keep an eye out for cm (bleugh) etc. won't be testing any time soon as I don't have any tests and no chemists close to me.

sassy not sure what sex I would prefer. I have 2 boys and 3 girls so I think a boy would round things off nicely I suppose. My ds2 is the cutest thing with his blond curls and cheekiness.

am back at work for the first day today and missing the dcs madly.

randomimposter · 02/09/2010 13:01

hi all
just marking my place as back online after house move....
will read back and catch up properly later, but just wanted to say hi.

was terribly teary leaving old house (knew I would be) but probably extra so with all the hormental emotion of the last few weeks.

knew leaving a medium sized 3 bed in a familiar family neighbourhood, and moving somewhere rented, 2up2down in a more "bohemian" location was going to be tough; add in 5 cats, who can't go out, and one has to be kept separate from the others (so with a bedroom for himself, errm MINE!), and DS in a big bed for the first time, and with no bath, but a big trug tub instead.... god it's a wonder I'm not in the asylum...

BUT have to focus on big picture; pots of (house sale) cash in the bank, have just stuffed pate galore in my gob for lunch and have been reintroducing myself to OysBaySauvBla with very gay abandon... I have a gorgeous child who I would dearly love to have a sibling, but at the risk of sounding crass or trite I have food in the (smelly and tiny) fridge and four (grubby in need of painting) walls and intact (but unbelievably filthy) windows (half already scrubbed to within an inch of their life)... there is always someone in a more difficult position.

anyway, must dash - back later. Big theatrical mwah to all xx

hippychick66 · 02/09/2010 20:36

jolly I completely understand you counting your blessings and I agree that it is a good thing to do, but I also think that you are entitled to acknowledge that you have had a totally shit few months - and apart from possibly sassy - you, out of all of us, very much deserve a pregnancy that goes the distance (sorry sas don't mean to turn it into a 'poor me' competition!) Anyway, jolls you sound like your having fun in your new home Grin and it is lovely to have you back with us in our swanky new pad.

beattie I was gonna say that i thought you should test Blush then i read your next post saying you had decided not to! I ovulated on day 8 last month. When i read your previous post I thought - A)spotting day before FF says you ov'd fits in ok (I have had spotting at ov time once). B)2 day bleed 10 days after ovulation = inplantation bleed, C) temps continue to be high = PREGGERS!

Anyway, that's my opinion but it is of course up to you whether you test (go on, go on , go on....)

GG Sorry to hear you had a 19 day cycle. It's not unheard of - My last one was 20 days but looking back at my chart I ov'd about day 8 so that still gave an ok-ish LP of 12 days. Your body must get confused after so many early MC's Sad. Have some pimms and hope for a better cycle next month, lovie. xx

gum I like the sound of your book - if you're loopy then so am I Grin infact, we're all bloody certify-able (sp?) on here!

sassy Having 2 boys already everyone who knows we want another baby thinks we are trying for a girl but I can honestly say after 2 false starts this year I just want a baby that goes the distance and I would be delighted with another boy. Of course, i'd like a girl cos I am bloody outnumbered around here but I really don't mind. When my neice was born I was dead jealous of my sister and kept threatening to steal her baby and change her surname to ours (jokingly!!!!) But she has turned out to be a right little tomboy who hates dresses and loves mucking in with the boys so if I had stolen her I would not have got my girly girl and my sister would have called th police on me - so best all round that I didn't. Grin

I wish my house was all shabby chic and cath kidston Sad mine is just SHABBY!!!

rowing not sure if you still read up on us all but if you are checking in - big hugs. Do you like what sassy has done with the place????

Love to alba DSL and lia our resident fatties!

ps. diege stop being such a hyprocondriac - you have nothing more serious than a dodgy pee stick!!!! I can't stand bloody hypocondriacs. Smile

(Sassy is mixing martinis tonight Grin )

Well, I would like a girl too. Catherine was a girly girl Hippy The last time we were in TK Maxx we loaded a trolley full of girly dresses and she tried the whole lot on. DH was outside doing his nut waiting patiently ... Grin I told her she could only have 1 huge frilly party dress - and then I bought her 4 Blush

Jollster "Bohemian" - oh it'll be exciting, and will make you appreciate your new house/life when everythign falls into place.

Although I have resisted charting (and chanting) I have decided to write down my CD in my diary - this is obviously a big high tech step -does it remind anyone else of Star Trek..

Star date: CD 3 Space... the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of Sassy Susan. Her five-year mission (hopefully not!!): to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where quite a few men actually have gone before.

thefatladyscreams · 02/09/2010 23:08

Wistful sniffing at mention of Oyster Bay (afraid bad memories of getting drunk on Martini as a teenager Sassy Blush). We have a wine club type thing arrive every quarter - very embarrassing at how much white wine is now stockpiled - was my sole reserve!

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing - loads to catch up on.

Blimey Jollster - I think it was the 5 cats in your description that really did it for me!

With regard to gender, isn't there meant to be some technique (Shettles?) that helps influence the gender? Didn't want to risk reducing my chances of conceiving so didn't try it.

Lovely to see you're all as mad lively as ever! Wink This thread is so active now and I haven't even got beyond the first page.

37 weeks today and feel like this baby has launched an attack on my bladder!

Has anyone heard from Kiwi recently? Was wondering how she is getting on.

Love to you all. Bugger about the BFNs (TFLS scuttles off to find some article proving a link between conception and cake - there ought to be one if there is any justice in this world!)

hippychick66 · 03/09/2010 08:58

sassy you are so funny. I'm sure it wont be a 5 year mission - honey!
I hope you get another girl and hope she too is a girly girl so you can buy her 54 dresses and tell her all about Catherine and how beautiful she looked in her dresses.

I'm sure that even if I got a girl she'd be up the tree with the boys and wearing their cast off tracky bottoms Grin

what's the story with the withdrawn messages - anyone know???

TFLS - 37 weeks OMG. How wonderful. Your whole life is about to change soooo much. Good luck for the labour (it's ok honest - don't let anyone scare you!) Come back soon and tell us all your news. xx

Diege · 03/09/2010 09:52

Morning! Well af has arrived as predicted (wow the temps thing really works, dropped to coverline today). So that gives me a luteal phase of 11 days which is a bit borderline but ok-ish I think? May try B6 as well as AC, and have also ordered yet another book about fertility and diet off amazon today. Will post on any tips here!
Good to hear from graduates of the thread, v.inspiring, we will all get there eventually I'm sure x
