Hi Ive been TTC for almost 2 years now and I've got to the point where I feel like it is never going to happen! I get very down when month after month nothing happens.

A friend of mine recommended looking at this site and just reading through some of the entries has made me feel much better.

Thanx!!

Jemma7 · 13/08/2003 16:35

Know how u feel Flutterby - not been ttc as long as 2 years but have been since Xmas - seems an age.

I found it really hard at first but the advise you get from all the mumsnetters is really helpful and kind - it still hurts each month but it is a help to know u are not the only person going through it!

bunny2 · 13/08/2003 20:37

Flutterby, we've been trying for 18 months and I can really identify how you feel. I have done so many pg tests and they are always negative. I dont think I will beleive it if I ever get a positive.

Good luck Egypt. I am on day 26 but not feeling v. optimistic. I really expected good news last month and felt very let down, this month I dont want to get too excited. After all, even on Clomid you are only @25% likely to conceive in any one cycle.

hana · 13/08/2003 23:31

Haven't yet read the thread....am reconnecting with Mumsnet after having been away for a couple of months. We lost a baby in late June at 13 weeks. Have just had my first period since that time and am getting really excited about trying once again! Yay to lots of bd in my future! Good luck to everyone else trying as well
Hana
x I'm off to read the rest of the thread

niknik · 14/08/2003 08:28

Flutterby have been ttc for 18 months and can totaly understand where you are coming from. I've just started posting on this site and it has definatly give me the reassurance that I am not the only one who feels this way.
Are you under a specialist at all, I am feeling slightly better now that I am and pro-actively trying to figure out why I am not falling.

quackers · 14/08/2003 11:53

Good luck all. I won't be trying again for a little while as 2 m/c's is just a bit too much for me. Hope someone gets lucky and gets a healthy baby at the end!! LOL xxxxx

BigBird · 14/08/2003 14:33

oh quackers - i've been on hols and missed your news. I'm so sorry. I must search for your news now. I really truly am sorry - you were a great addition to this thread and I hope you come back sometime.

quackers · 14/08/2003 17:13

Thanks Bigbird, that's so sweet of you! I see you found the thread where I lost the baby. I'm gutted yes but I so much hope I will have success. I I have another m/c they are sending me to St Mary's/Thomas'. Good to have you back anyway!!

bayleaf · 14/08/2003 19:12

Flutterby - I HAVE been trying for exactly 2 years this month so I really do understand where you are coming from and sympathise. About a year ago I insisted we start having tests privately and discovered that dh's sperm had mysteriously stopped swimming sine we conceived dd so we're on the ivf/icsi trail now - exactly the same frustrations just more expensive

Quackers, I'll miss you but I understand. You will be welcomed back with open arms when you are ready to join us again. Bunnyxxx

FiFiRob2000 · 16/08/2003 09:48

had M/C last yr on DS 1st birthday
been TTC ever since with no luck
was hoping for fate when OPC said DS 2nd bday was a good day to try but AF arrived today
Am getting fed up now with ttc then being disappointed each time.
doc was very unhelpful, just said oh it sometimes takes a while.
Think I might go see a diff doc...

quackers · 18/08/2003 08:58

Thankyou Bunny honey!! Miss you all and wish u tons of luck. Things going ok, the m/c was complete this time so I actually feel tons better than after the first m/c, like I had a good clear out cos the first was incomplete for 2 months! Just waiting for my first period and after 3 I think I'll be ready to try again!!! Just couldn't handle another loss, so want to make sure I've done everything I can!!
FiFi, I know you have been using OPK's but apparantly you only have a 20-25% chance each month, even if you do it on the right day. Have you done any webresearch for ttc for some tips? I'll try and have a look today and send you a link - or try to anyway!

Munchk2n · 18/08/2003 13:01

Hello all

I'm on cd 33 and have done 2 Boots tests, both negative. Only had a few periods since stopping b/f dd, and cycles have been 48/30/33 days.

Have recently bought a Persona (have yet to start using it) and hoping that it will be a welcome waste of money!
...fingers crossed...

Bogwoppit · 18/08/2003 13:41

thanks quackers. (have changed my nickname cos other one was boring!)have done a bit of web searching & follow various threads on here, but any advice is welcome. I didn't know the chances were so low with OPKs.
Just all a bit of a shock that is is taking so long cos I fell preg 1st time of trying with DS & 2nd pregnancy

splash · 19/08/2003 07:45

Congratualations Splash Thats wonderful news. You must be overjoyed, well done

Jemma7 · 19/08/2003 08:43

Congratulations Splash
Can you work out your EDD?

splash · 19/08/2003 09:10

Thankyou. I think it will be due in april. I would definately recommend clearblue ov sticks.I had used the whole packet before i got my lh surge!
How about you hewlettsdaughter and big bird how are you getting on?
I know quackers you will be looking at this thread and i just wanted to say that i am really sorry about what has happened to you. I hope things will work out for you. A very similar thing happened with my last preg that happened to you with your first mis. i am really feeling for you.
i am really worried. i used to think before that things were ok if they got passed the first 12 weeks and thought i was ok at carrying babies. i got to half way through before. i will be feeling really anxious all the way through for various reasons, and will never become complacent at whatever stage i am at.
good luck to everyone this definately is a lucky thread!! come on someone else join me for april. hehe!!

quackers · 19/08/2003 09:18

Congratulations Splash!! I wasn't sure if had missed something and didn't know or you had just found out. I'm really pleased for you! First month on OPK/Persona too like myself and lucyb!! Just shows that it does work!!! Yes it really knocks your confiedence, especially so late as you don't expect it after 12 weeks. I'm rooting for you and your tiny one!! Good luck to all, there have been so many successes lately, even if some haven't gone to term, we will eventually. LOL xxx
Bunny - hiya chuck, looks like I'll be lurking for a bit, but I feel great. Have strated a new walking regime to loose a little weight. That's my goal for the next 2-3 months.!!

LucieB · 19/08/2003 11:52

Quackers - you sound a whole lot better. Your positive attitude should be an inspiration to everyone who reads this thread. Best of luck with the exercise. As a former fitness freak, I can definitely recommend it - it really does help to lift your self-esteem. Unfortunately, what with working full-time and being a mum to ds who is a very active 11.5 months, I don't get the time any more.
Best of luck with the ttc when you start again.

AND many congratulations Splash - hope all goes well for you and hope you are feeling ok.
