Nice clean thread for us - may there be many a BFP on here

clareanna · 24/05/2010 13:12

afternoon all - hope you are having a good monday.

cheepz ooh I HATE those hormone spots - bane of my life.

viv was it a good ending? couldn't quite face 5am - but might catch it on sky1... as long as it doesn't clash with Glee

well, thanks for all the advice. was still on a peak so managed to have some truly terrible SWI this morning, the type where you have DS burst in on you to say he needs a wee wee and then tries to climb on the duvet, and then your MIL knocks on the door and asks if you want a cup of tea. But nothing is stopping me this month! if this is a lucky month I just hope future child never discovers this thread in archive...

Only slightly worried about my luteal phase now, as if my cycle is the usual length it will only be 10/11 days... still something to think about on the 2ww!

VivClicquot · 24/05/2010 13:17

I really really liked it, Clareanna, but I suspect a lot of people will moan about it - despite there being an 'explanation', a lot of the finer details still went unexplained.

But then for me, it was never about the 'meaning' behind the numbers or the polar bear or the smoke monster or whatever - it was the journey, so I just thought it was ace.

dorcas111 · 24/05/2010 13:18

Hi everyone, hope you all enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend. Hairy it really is crap what you are going through and I hope they sort it our for you today as this is just intolerable on top of a MC. I can't believe how strong you have been throughout it all.
Claire and Digital hope you managed to get in some serious SWI.
Muser hooray for being back on the list, hope you have lots of fun and stress free SWI this month.

Well... having been convinced that I was about to get RTD last week, having had zero symptoms it turns out that I was wrong. I did a text yesterday and got a faint line, did a digital today and got a BFP! It still hasn't sunk in really, I was so sure that I wasn't, hence going a little bit mental last week. Early days though so will still hang out here for a bit I think.

digitalgirl · 24/05/2010 13:22

clareanna hilarious!

Am going to test again (with my cheapo boots sticks) tonight to see if LH is still peaking. I reckon swi tonight and tomorrow should do it. (unless of course my body attempts to ovulate for a third time in this wtf cycle).

cheepz it's far too nice a day out there to be working hard.

digitalgirl · 24/05/2010 13:23

OMG Dorcas x-posted. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 24/05/2010 13:29

Welcome back littlemiss and happy 2WW! Welcome to the list Muser !

Hairy hows things today? I hope they have settled down - what did they say at your blood test? Your poor arms - you have my full sympathy I know exactly how you feel, my veins have not recovered a year on and now have a little fear of needles which I never had before.....

Great news Digit on the OPK! (and also the tantrumless bedtime )

Pretty your DH sounds lubbbberley! I am glad you have had a nice weekend hun xx Ladybee hope you are less pink today. Clare I hope you got some action lady!

Congratulations Dorcas! That's fabulous news.

I have convinced myself I am not pregnant, despite being a couple of days off being able to test (currently CD24). I will be seriously upset if I don't conceive as we really did everything we could to ensure it happened this month. OPK and a trip to the doctors if it's a BFN again this month. DP and I are thinking of beginning to plan our wedding for next summer, when we should have had an almost-1-year-old, and I'm beginning to think I might still be pregnant then, which is a bit .

slimyak · 24/05/2010 13:36

Hi Cheepz and all

I haven't been awol, a bit of lurking and uber buzy at work so looked like I was awol.

Anyway, just a quick one so no time for name checks sorry. I've tried to post a few times over the past week but superstition has got the better of me, but here goes:

Last week I got the BFP

Right gotta go before I delete this message like the scared chicken I am.

I'll be back asap

digitalgirl · 24/05/2010 13:45

Its like a blizzard of BFPs!

Whispered, non-jinxy, congrats to slimyak too!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 24/05/2010 13:46

Fab news Slimyak !!!

OP posts:
VivClicquot · 24/05/2010 13:49

Ah lovely lovely news - congratulations to you both.

magic - I definitely don't think the crying was hormonal; just typical WeepyViv getting too emotionally involved in a bloody television programme

That said 7dpo here and absolutely sack all to report...

digitalgirl · 24/05/2010 13:50

hopefully you will get pregnant. Did you read that article in the Guardian's Family section about under 3yo's needing one-to-one supervision over and above 'activities and playmates'. Has made me feel a lot better about the increasing gap. (and also made me think that if we ever did go for number 3, then I would like to wait until DC2 turned 2 before ttc). Also, after my initial dismissal of them I think OPK's are a Good Thing. I got the no-frills ones from Boots for about £15. Only 7 in a pack, but then you're fairly regular anyway so can't imagine you'll run out...my advice would be to start testing when you start getting EWCM.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 24/05/2010 13:56

I am too hot......so came in for a breather!! Digit I like the sound of that article.......Hopefully....dd is 4 in August and has me all to herself (except when I'm childminding). WHEN (and I WILL!!!) we have another baby dd will be at school so any future Magic8 bubbas will have me all to themselves too......It has taken me a almost a year to see the positives in a big gap.......x

Cheepz · 24/05/2010 14:17

slimy very quiet but excited gongrast - that explains why Ive not seen a post for a while from you - don't blame you for not wanting to say - can be so scary

dors fantabulous news for you too, xxx fingers crossed for you both that all goes well.

xx

hairytriangle · 24/05/2010 14:20

Viv bless u! I'm ok. Very weak today so have come to bed and am lazing about all pale and wan lol!
Blood result due at half three nd now hve some anti inflammatories. They say if hcg up then I will need methotrexine as this could continue for months. I kind of agree that three months off ttc is better than longer which could happen if we just leave things as they are. so fingers crossed for lower hcg today!!!

hairytriangle · 24/05/2010 14:21

Dorcas!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! X

Hopefully · 24/05/2010 14:33

Congratulations Slimyak!!

Thanks for the reassurance DG and Magic8. I'm sure it will happen sooner or later, it's just so frustrating sitting and waiting!

clareanna · 24/05/2010 16:35

Omg! dorcas and slim wonderful news!!!! Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you both x

hairytriangle · 24/05/2010 16:38

jeeeeesus I am now about to lose my rag!!

HCG 170 today(no change from last Weds this is the first time there hasn't been a rise) but I was awaiting the result from A&E which was taken Thursday, and might signal a drop (ie: if it was higher than 170 on Thurs)

So it goes like this:

Hospital that's monitoring me: it's still 170, so we might call you in for Methowotsit later toay

Me: ok, but I'd like to find out what it was atA&E on Thursday first, because I really don't want the injection unless it's absolutely necessary

Hospital: We don't have access to that blood result, as it was done at a different hospital. We'll discuss with the consultant whether to call you in based on today's result and come back to you.

so I ring A&E

A&E: sorry, it's not showing on my screen

Me: how can I get it?

A&E Phone your GP, but if it's on your GP's records, it'll be on ours, and it isn't (shirty tone)

so I ring the GP:

GP receptionist : it's not showing on our screen

So I ring the local health board.

Local Health Board: I can put you through to the lab to see if they have sent the rsult

Lab: yes, the result has been sent to A&E, but we can't give the result to you on the phone (fair enough)

So I phone A&E again

A&E : we don't have it (shirty tone) - you need to go through your gp

GP Receptionist: the doctor now has it, it was recorded on a different screen.

IT'S MY COCKING BODY, IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT I AM TOLD WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL THE VILES OF COCKING BLOOD THEY'VE TAKEN??????!!!!! AAAARGH!!!!

So now I'm sitting here waiting for the GP to phone, and if it was higher on Thurs then I'll have to argue against methowotsit being injected into MY BODY tonight!!
They seem to be treating this injection as if I have no choice in the matter! I will take it if HCG is rising - but I really don't want any toxic chemicals in my body right now!

seems I'm getting my fight back!

(woops sorry, rant over - bet some of you were wondering when I'd crack LOL)

Muser · 24/05/2010 17:07

Oh hairy, what a nightmare. I hope it's all figured out soon. I've had methotrexate and it's not much fun, but not that bad. Made me very tired and that's all. I hope you don't need it.

Also want to say big congrats to our two new BFPs. Lovely stuff!

hairytriangle · 24/05/2010 17:50

Ooh! Doc just rang (GP) hcg was 182 on Thursday last week, so with it being 170 today that's an actual drop!!!!!!!!!! WOOOP! So tomorrow (when I'm supposed to go in for Methodooda injection) I'm going to beg for a few days grace to try n get another drop

Ooh and Congrats to slim

hairytriangle · 24/05/2010 18:36

sorry to be hogging the thread

I just wondered if any of you had any advice about what to do about Methotrexate, please?

The way I feel is

  1. This has gone on for 26 days (counting first MC bleed as day one)
  1. There has never been any rush on the part of the medics to scan me - or to intervene - they were going to leave it until two weeks into very slow rising HCG levels to scan me
  1. They only scanned me when I was desperate, but seemed quite happy to continue to let levels rise slowly before doing anything. At first scan they found 1 functional cyst and 1 small unidentified piece of potential retained products - and absolutely no sign of an ectopic pregnancy
  1. I've now had my second bleed (starting on day 22 - I usually have a 28 day cycle) and a second scan taken on the first day of that bleed showed no retained products and a shrinking cyst
  1. So I've had a bleed, the first FALL in HCG in three weeks and now they seem to urgently want to give me Methotrexate.

Perhaps I should go to the "Am I being Unreasonable" section, but I really think they should do at least one more blood test, considering I've had my first drop, and I don't want to take toxic drugs into a body I'm working quite hard on de-toxifying ready for another try!!

On the phone the hospital seemed like methotrexate is what I now need but I feel like they aren't taking the drop (or level ) seriously or as anything significant! I'd actually rather go through a further three weeks of blood tests and drops in HCG if it means avoiding Methotrexate!

what do you guys think???

x
