Hello everyone, I feel like I can't really offer any advice as I've not started my clomid yet (wish AF would hurry up and arrive but only on day 17 grrrr) but just wanted to say I hope you all get BFPs real soon (and me not long after!)

katierocket - are there any developments? Do you think you've maybe OVd now? Hope so!

roobedoo - have a cyber hug from me, I really hope this is your month

milesysgirl - well done on completing month 1 with so few side effects, I hope I have as good a time of it as you, good luck

What cycle day is everyone on now - I'm on CD17, of a (normally)27 day cycle so 10 looooooong days to go before AF (or day I say it, BFP??)

katierocket · 21/08/2005 07:28

hi loubie - I'm on CD20 and 99% sure I'm not pregnant . SO sick of this feeling. I definitely ov'd and did lots of BD, god knows what is going on, maybe it's not meant to be.

Hope everyone else has better luck.

Roobedoo · 21/08/2005 11:31

CD22, not expecting AF until CD35 ish. Felt sick this morning - but had just comfort eaten a huge Twix so don't think that counts! As, like Katierocket, am convinced I'm not pg this month, can't wait for AF now. DH is very put out and wants to be tested although the consultant said he'd wait until I'd done 3 months on clomid. Have to say this annoys me a bit - they're happy to drug me up without checking DH out first. DH considering buying a sperm test from website Access Diagnostics - no idea if they are any good though. Oh well, at least we can drink the champagne we were given for our wedding anniversary (may give it a few more days though - still hoping that we can all be as lucky as Egypt!)

Loubie37 · 21/08/2005 11:52

Roobedoo that's shocking that your hubby hasn't even been tested yet - that was the first thing my GP arranged when we first went to see him. His opinion was once that was done and assuming the result was OK, that my partner was out the infertility equasion so they could then concentrate on me.

And when we got our appointment to see the specialist, we had to have SA tests and blood tests all done again before our first appointment.

I would go see your GP - it doesn't have to be done via your specialist. In the meantime I would insist he takes a zinc supplement every day just in case!!

I've still got my fingers crossed for both you and katierocket - you never know until AF arrives.

katierocket · 22/08/2005 12:21

Thanks Loubie - but after 15 months of TTC I know the symptoms of AF and it's definitely that.
You know what is really hard? When I see birth announcements from mumsnetters whose names I recognise from early TTC threads - now that is really depressing.

Roobedo - it is odd that your DH hasn't been tested. Although I was given CLomid even though there is a chance that there is a prob with DP's sperm (we're just waiting for results of his 3rd test). The consultant pretty much said, "well you might as well" (take Clomid I mean).

good luck girls, I've had a black weekend this weekend, it really feels as though it's never going to happen (stuck record I am).

Loubie37 · 22/08/2005 13:14

We've been trying for the same amount of time - depressing isn't it??

I use another Baby Forum too, and have done since last November...I've got really friendly with a lot of the regulars on there (they are a brilliant buch but hardly any of them are on Clomid which is why I've strayed over here to prevent me from boring them silly) and one by one they've all got pregnant except me

Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted for each and every one of them, but I feel so left behind IYKWIM?

Feel so depressed right now, which is a sure fire sign my AF is on the way too.....

Fingers crossed we'll get there soon, eh?

katierocket · 22/08/2005 13:16

yes Loubie, fingers crossed. It helps to chat to someone going through the same thing doesn't it.

Roobedoo · 22/08/2005 14:20

Don't know what I'd do without you lot to confide in. Felt vaguely sick yesterday and DH got so excited, but I think I may have imagined it and feel so bad for getting DH's hopes up. Have been and bought zinc this morning and instructed DH that he HAS to take it! Feel like I have pmt although too soon for AF so think I'm just a bit miserable.

Roobedoo · 22/08/2005 14:23

AND got new Isabella Oliver catalogue through the post this morning - that made me feel really great.

katierocket · 23/08/2005 08:24

I have horrendous period pains

what's so hard about it is knowing that every month you have to go through the same set of emotions again - anticipation, excitement, disappointment - I just can't face it.

Loubie37 · 23/08/2005 09:32

(((Katierocket))) Are the pains worse than normal ones? Maybe that's another side effect of Clomid?

I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up with my first course of Clomid - I know it is possible to conceive on your first round, but reading through Clomid message boards it seems it's the exception rather than the norm.

In fact my specialistisn't even monitoring me on the first cycle - I'm having 21 day bloods done on month 2 and 3 so maybe he doesn't expect it to work first time round?

Big hugs, I hope you feel better soon

katierocket · 23/08/2005 09:33

thanks Loubie. I don't know whether they are worse, maybe some of it is psychological because I'm thinking about it so much?
Anyway, whereabouts are you in cycle?

Roobedoo · 23/08/2005 09:41

Oh no - so many faces. Poor you Katierocket - it's just up and down with the emotions isn't it. It's just so frustrating - we've managed to conceive before so why not now?

katierocket · 23/08/2005 09:42

I know roobedo, that's what is so frustrating. I just keep thinking why? 15 months seems like a lifetime. Oh well, will try very hard not to dwell on it today (difficult with nagging AF pains). Have a good day.

Loubie37 · 23/08/2005 10:15

I'm on day 20 now, AF will be here by a week tomorrow if she's coming...but I always get tell tale spotting 2 or 3 days beforehand so I'll probably know by Monday if I'm not PG.

I had to get up in the night again for a wee last night, that's the second time running, and it's almost unheard of for me, so who knows? Also, I had niggly pains down there yessterday evening (not cramps and not particularly painful, but a bit early for AF signs) so I'm now trying deperately not to get on to the Am I Aren't I rollercoaster.

I was quite excited about going on to Clomid at first, but if I'm honest I'm dreading it now - not because of the side effects or anything, but in case it doesn't work

curvybebe · 23/08/2005 21:23

With my 1st dd i was on cloimd for a year then they doubled the dosage thats the month i fell!!! All in all we tried 3 years for 1st dd and 14 months for 2nd dd who we also fell with the month comid was doubled. I remember well the heart ache month after month the dissapointment. All i can say is be positive, and as corny as it sounds it is really worth the wait!!!

Loubie37 · 24/08/2005 08:15

Thanks for that Curvybebe (love the name!) I think I've resigned myself to the fact that I will be starting on Clomid next week now.....what dose were you on when you conceived? I'm starting out on 100mgs per day

curvybebe · 24/08/2005 10:09

Cant remember the dose in mgs.... But i was on 1 tablet from day 2-6.. Then i was put up to 2 tablets from 2-6. And they never found a reason to why i couldn't fall naurally...!!

katierocket · 24/08/2005 10:09

you were maybe on 1 x 50mg then 2 x 50mg.

curvybebe · 24/08/2005 10:11

Plus I never had any side effects from the clomid at all....!!

curvybebe · 24/08/2005 10:12

It is possible i really cant remember my youngest dd is just over 2 years now. So seems a long time ago now

katierocket · 24/08/2005 10:17

well you are a beacon of hope for us all curvey!

curvybebe · 24/08/2005 10:22

Good luck to u all... Stay positive

Roobedoo · 24/08/2005 19:16

How is everyone? I have been feeling quite pmt like today although AF not due for another week. Could of course be that DS was horrendous this afternoon and I was feeling particularly tense, but have just felt down and grotty all day and keep feeling faint - but I'm always doing that!

katierocket · 24/08/2005 19:17

OK thanks roobedo, resigned to AF coming (due in 5 days), feel very angry and tense, could be Clomid, could be the frustration of it not having worked.
