Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

1000 replies

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

Well done seany, 10/10 for effort there will be no kicking yourself this month for missed opportunities! Its exciting when you get to the point where you can actually start symptom spotting.

After much googling the only women who can i can come across who have experienced similar i.e. pink or brown cm when wiping from around implantation till af due and beyond and also without pain, are women who have then been to docs where blood tests show they had a very early miscarriage or as we know it a chemical pregnancy which i can handle that as such early days and thats got to be better than the thought of cervical cancer. It does give me positive thoughts tho that it was possible an egg fertilised this month and hopefully next time we will have more luck but im not sure what will happen this month as i dont know when to start counting cd1 as had pink cm on cd19 onwards tho it was more red on cd 28 i think, maybe that should be cd1, i dont know still brown at tho mo tho sometimes reddy brown im guessing when it all stops just forget about counting till i get af again next time - thats a bit sensible not sure if i can manage that!

shelleylou · 02/07/2010 09:01

Bossy fingers crossed that google is wrong. I've got no idea where you should start counting from.

I did another test this morning and got a very very faint line. It was barely there but it was. Any reccomendations for tests that need a lower amount of hormone to detect. This 1 was first response but not showing anything nearly a week late

swizzlestar · 02/07/2010 09:32

Sorry to everyone that af got .........onwards to next month girls!!

seany - wow! Impressive bding .

bossy - how confusing and frustrating for you! Is it worth a vist to the doc to see what they think??

shelley - a line is a line!! I had a faint line with dd... Test again in 48 hours.

Well I feel absolutely shocking this morning!! Sick, headachey and metallic taste in my mouth. Only cd20 though..... It could of coure be purely stress. I have a stressful job, my dd is 4 on Monday (and a monster!), my mum is in hospital after a 7 hour op on a brain aneurysm and another one to come next and dh wrote of our car two weeks ago so been sorting that out.......so plenty to stress about. Dying to test, but can't see the point so early??

bossyboop · 02/07/2010 09:50

dont do it swizzle!

good luck shelleylou!

swizzlestar · 02/07/2010 09:56

OMG!! Just read back my post...apologies for crap spelling, typing and missing words....

shelleylou · 02/07/2010 09:58

I'll have to get another test im all out lol. I cant believe it, the lines disappeared now. My heads a bit all over the place.
Hope things are ok with your mum sounds like you have a lot on swizzle.

thanks for you help

swizzlestar · 02/07/2010 15:07

The line will have disappeared. They tell you not to read the test after x minutes on the instructions.

Don't read too much into any of it. Just do the test in a couple of days. Hormones are funny old things!!

Yes have quite a lot on at the moment!!

Still got yucky metallic taste and tummy looks like I'm flaming 4mths gone......but that could be chocolate .

shelleylou · 02/07/2010 15:17

I thought it would be beacuse it was so faint. Think the ones i did from ds are still there lol and hes 3.8 lol but i found out late with him lol.

I still have all my symptons so not reading much into it. Im trying not to get excited about having a feint positive but its so hard I looked ike that the other day was really weird... i know mine werent chocolate as i dont eat it lol.
I never thought i'd be on one of these threads lol but seamed to make sense to join 1 rather than making a thread with something thats possibly been asked thousands of times.
Hoping you have news soon

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 03/07/2010 04:53

Is suddenly waking up in the night for a wee a symptom? this has happened 2 nights in a row now (I'm 6DPO) Oh yea and I've got a Sty on my eye now which is positively painful and I only normally get these when I'm run down - but I don't feel poorly - plus intermitent cramping since 2DPO is now still intermitent but more lengthy, like a dragging sensation!

Can't believe I'm awake at 5am on a Saturday!!

bossyboop · 03/07/2010 08:52

morning all! Looking good so far for you storm, ive heard of people getting up in the night for the loo when they normally dont then got a bfp, so fingers crossed! Unfortunately thats a symptom i will never get as ive been going to the loo at least once through the night if not twice forever basically and only ever sleep all the way through 2 or 3 times a year. When i was pg i only slept right through once the entire time and when i realised i was overjoyed - simple things ay?!

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 03/07/2010 09:30

lol bossy sounds like me too! Have been getting up in the night forever as well,oh a full nights sleep would be heaven

Just realised its cd18 for me today. I had such a shocking sore lower back yesterday and was desperately tired so no bding for us last night. Im hoping our efforts will be rewarded this month [fingers crossed].

Shelley i know it'll be hard but try to hold off 48 hours before testing again to give hormones time to build more and give you a nice strong bfp this time good luck!
(what cd are you on btw? too lazy to read back lol)

Oh swizzle poor you.hope your mum is ok [hugss]

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 03/07/2010 09:39

Bossy my gynae consultant told me to count cd1 as first day of full red flow.
Also heres another story for you-my friend found out she was preg with her first after having a really light weird period so dont give up hope!!! That weird period is now her 5yo dd! lol

I woke up this morning feeling like i havent slept at all, which isnt true as i had a great nights sleep (managed til 6am before i had to get up to the loo). Have a massive spot on my eyebrow and its actually giving me a bit of a headache.
I hope i perk up a bit soon cause im going to visit my friend today and its an hour and a halfs drive to get to her house, and then we're going shopping. We usually meet halfway but she is due her first baby next month and her bp is a bit on the low side so has been advised not to drive long distances.

Hi seany, your cycle seems to be going super fast can believe its symptom spotting time for you again!

Im not sure what to think seany, feel a bit empty really but still got symptoms like sore boobs even non suspicious boob is looking a bit suspicious, the whole blue vein thing which i always have but still seems worse than usual, even dh has noticed, still feeling tired through the daytime even tho i have been going to bed earlier and sleeping better than usual and later than usual thanks to dd having good sleep too! I still like to cling onto a bit of hope. Tho i expect when the bleeding stops it will all subside.

I didnt even buy any pads with my shopping as I didnt think i would need them. Had 1 pad left which i used merely to collect some evidence to examine bit in all honesty i havent needed a pad as only had something when ive wiped. I hoped it would tempt fate so it would come gushing out so I could start using tampons and get this out the way. Had some pinky red stuff last night and teeny bit of light brown when i got up. Come on its now day 13 of this! It was pink on cd19 so should that be cd1 and say last month was a 18 day cycle. Its been pink then a little bit red then brown the reddy brown and now just light brown im beyond help now i think! I thought it was all stopping till i saw the reddy pink last night, theres still fresh bleeding there somewhere. I dont know if i have to wait for it to stop for a doctor to do anything, im confused.com!

Dandeliondrama · 03/07/2010 10:21

bossy although I don't have a lot of experience in this, it doesn't sound like a cyst which is good news. When I had my cyst about 4 years ago there was just a lot of lower abdominal pain, but no bleeding. Truely hope everything is ok with you!

Am sympathising with the spot seany....I'm convinced that it's a hormonal thing, as I got nailed with a breakout last month around ov time. So go for it girl, BDing time!

I'm on CD 4 or so, so no symptom spotting for me. Am just lurking around MN and picking up all sorts of interesting info. I think DH is a little confuzzled with my newly-found tips for falling pg (after BD put pillow under pelvis and ly down for 10 mins etc etc). I get this [confusd] kind of face regularly!

shelleylou · 03/07/2010 10:42

cd36 of a 28 day cycle usually like clockwork. I'm tempted to believe the feint positive yesterday feel very like when i was pg with ds. DH has noticed my breasts have grown hes quite impressed with that one lol not quite that new bras dont fit me too well now though lol
I havent got any more tests in so not able to test just yet anyway. DH thinks i should go for a blood test as im not getting clear positives, i think im going to try leave testing till monday that will be 4 days after the last test. I just want a clear result as im starting to wonder if imimaging things

bossyboop · 03/07/2010 14:00

Hello everyone great news from me, logged off this morning and popped to the loo and af is now here in full force and thank god for that! Had to take painkillers and still really crampy but glad to now be on cd1 and hopefully draw a line under that experience, so hope to have a better month, never had 12 days of spotting before a period before and hopefully never will again. Baby dust to all!

shelleylou · 03/07/2010 14:09

Thats good that you know where you are now bossy.

I'm all confused and in a bit of a state. I started bleeding a little while ago pretty certain it isn't AF but not a clue what it is or may be. Going to pop chemist i think and get a test see if it puts my mind at ease. Any reccomendations of the most sensitive?

Dandeliondrama · 03/07/2010 14:24

shelleylou I think that anything that says '10miu' is the most sensitive....good luck!

shelleylou · 03/07/2010 14:51

ok will try find it on the boxes then. Im just off to go get one. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm terrified

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 03/07/2010 14:57

Good Luck shellylou xxxx

shelleylou · 03/07/2010 16:14

feint positive but dont think its viable

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 03/07/2010 20:24

oh shelly you poor thing. i would be straight down the hospital asking them to do blood test to check if rising hcg levels. If its any consolation i bled a large spot of bright red when i was pg with ds. Hope everything turns out ok for you [hugs]

Bossy im glad you've been put out of your misery.Do you think its worth a trip to see your GP about the long period of spotting.could be a hormonal imbalance or something which can be sorted quite easily (i know if low progesterone you can get cream to help raise it,tablets too i think).

bossyboop · 03/07/2010 21:01

ive done so much reading recently and found out that in many many cases bleeding early on is often nothing to worry about and its quite common tho should always be checked out, sending positive thoughts your way shelleylou.

Hi seany thanks for your support and everyone else here too, its nice to have somewhere to go. When ttc is a secret it can leave you a bit isolated in times like this. Think im going to see how long the bleeding goes on for, i think i would hate it for a blood test to show that i was pregnant but just didnt work out - ignorance is bliss and all that but will see how it goes and how im feeling, if all is well will see how the rest of the cycle progresses.

Im having a nice alcoholic drink and instead of my planned day of wearing comfy clothes hugging a hot water bottle and drinking cups of tea i got changed and went out, forgot all about the cramps, the bleeding is hardly anything now but at least i had some proper bleeding and looking forward to spending the next month here with you all tho hope to see some more ridiculous symptom spotting graduates!

shelleylou · 03/07/2010 22:40

Thanks for the thoughts and comforting. I didnt go hospital had to work my finl shift. Pain has subsided back to cramps and bleeding has slowed and lighter so I'm hoping im ok. Think im scared to go hospital incase their test says im not pg and i look like an idiot. BF works in the path lad too and doesn't know we're trying as such or the recent test result.

Sounds like you've had a lovely day bossy
