Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

1000 replies

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

due thurs so will wait till then, just got cheapy tests in at the mo so got to wait till im due, plus dh has hidden them and i dont feel an urge to us them at all which makes a change. I do think it all sounds promising but i just dont feel it iyswim so i wont be surprised if im not but then the obsession will start over what the 6 days of having a daily smidge of pink cm was about. That has been the strangest thing for me as ive never experienced that before, 3 more sleeps!

swizzlestar · 28/06/2010 21:36

I have cheapy tests too, good idea getting dh to hide them. I am becoming a tad obsessed..........already. Unfortunately there isn't a psycho woman smiley !

I've had crampy pains for days now and want to know what's going on! This my 4th (my lot are nearly 21, 19 and nearly 4) so you'd think I knew what I was doing, but I don't. Fell 1st time with all of them and really can't see me being so lucky this time!

emmylou30 · 28/06/2010 22:34

Good to hear everyone's still symptom spotting away!! Mine have all gone.....CD 50 something or other.....think it's time for a trip to the docs.

Dicegirl are you still waiting for AF?

TheDiceGirl · 29/06/2010 01:52

yup i'm still waiting! Seeing as it's gone midnight i think today is cd55. Very tempted to test in the morning.. But i just have an awful feeling that i'm going to be disappointed but i think it needs to be done so i can go to the doctors if it's negative.

swizzlestar · 29/06/2010 11:28

So now as well as cramps.........I have a spot!! Ok well spot is kinda generous as it's so small, but I rarely get spots.

How the hell am I going to last for another 9-10days lol??!

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 29/06/2010 12:46

Hi Everyone,

How long would you guys suggest leaving it before testing - don't worry I'm not thinking about doing it anytime soon....just wondered?

X

swizzlestar · 29/06/2010 13:48

I'm on my first proper cycle since having my mirena out, so now idea how long my cycle is! So holding out for 14dpo, which takes me to a week Saturday .

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 29/06/2010 13:51

storm you are asking the wrong people!! lol if you follow example on here you'll end up testing 1dpo lol
Seriously though i would suggest waiting til af is late.

oh poor emmy and dice, i have so much sympathy for you both, its soooo horrible having long unexplained cycles like this and would def reccommend going to see your docs [hugs]

Weeeelll cd14 for me and i was bleeding this morning eek ovulation bleeding?? or just more stupid confusing mid cycle bleeding for no reason at all, (or for many reasons not worth thinking about cause ill prob take a nervous breakdown if i do!!!!)

Have bd cd8,9,11,12+13 so if it is ov bleeding then have def bd on the right days. bloody knackered
So onwards for more bding tonight..

Hows everyone else today??

swizzlestar · 29/06/2010 14:47

seanybosmummysfedupwaitin? no wonder you're knackered!!!!

I'm crampy still and bloated.....

Just a general question - whilst ttc have you given up alcohol??

TheDiceGirl · 29/06/2010 15:01

thanks seany just being able to rant to you all about it is such a massive help! I haven't been able to test today, i thought i had one lying about but i didn't, so i've just bought one and will be testing tomorrow, bugger it. Ooh well i hope it's ov bleeding! Fingers and toes crossed for you swizzle - i swore blind i wouldn't touch a drop. It hasn't exactly gone as planned! But i have managed to cut down a fair bit, i have a couple of glasses of wine each week. Used to have wine almost every night but i couldn't give it up completely!

bossyboop · 29/06/2010 15:48

seany lol @ testing 1dpo sounds about right!

I dont drink much anyway so if i do its before ovulation and maybe a couple of days after, then wait till af arrives then i can treat myself with a drink at least. Fortunatley any arranged nights out have occured before ovulation so havent had to dwell on that.

seany know what you mean, im miserable today and could have a good cry over what the pink cm could be if not ovulation, going to Drs about it if af turns up, best to be safe than sorry.

Had another splodge today, thought it was finished, this time a bit more to see and more red. Think this could just be af now tho popped a pad in to avoid excessive loo trips to check but havent had anything since. This is the 9th day ive had something on a tissue. Cant do anything now but wait and see how things turn out.

BookAnt · 29/06/2010 18:51

Hello ladies,

Welcome to all the newbies!!!

I did not test on Friday as am lazy and was unable to walk into town to buy a test (exhausted) - Dp's car is in garage and the town is reaaaaaaalllly far away. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Despite being able to smell things from the other side of the room and from other rooms in the house, being very tired (having naps during day), going off a few foods and wanting other random foods (supernoodles!) and having to pee at the same time very morning (5:42am) I am not Pregnant - I found a cheapy strip test that i had in a cupboard from the last time I tested and went to the toilet to test, so I wiped first(its an obsession) it was pinky/red - So I guess i am out I didn't use the test.

Hope evryone else is doing better than me!

Dandeliondrama · 29/06/2010 18:57

Hang in there bossy Thursday is coming up! I can completely relate seeing as our cycles are so close, and am really holding thumbs that this is your month. You have fab symptoms! It's supposed to be CD1 for me today but no AF as yet. I'm sure that true to form it will appear the next time that I go to the loo, just to be difficult. Normally is here by lunchtime though, so still a smidgeon of hope on my side.

seany I'm seriously impressed with your bd-ing efforts Do you reckon there's a chance of conceiving as early as CD8? I've only been starting around CD11 (as ov around CD16), however will put my best foot forward earlier if required!

Welcome swizzle and Storm, always good to know we're not the only ones who feel insane. .

Storm I must sheeplishly admit that I tend to test about 4 days before af is due (somehow getting a bfn at that time sets my mind at ease), and then again when af is due. I just can't bear the waiting!

bossyboop · 29/06/2010 18:58

when is af due bookant? I would go back and reread posts but im soooooooooo tired i cant be bothered!!! Pleased to feel tired at last, been the only symptom ive not had. Been away and come back for more googling, not sure if i feel better or worse, but everytime i read about eggs burrowing into the mothers lining i get weepy...

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 29/06/2010 22:12

Bossy 9 days is quite a long time to be pre af spotting,im sure its driving you up the wall.

Ant dont give up hope yet, hopefully its implantation and the pinky blood will taper off soon.

swizzle i generally hardly ever drink.the last drink i had was when i was on holiday (8th june to be exact) ande before that was at the start of may,so you can guess just how rarely i drink!! lol

dandelion my cycles are all over the place so i figure it cant do any harm bding on day 8 just incase i have a short cycle. last month we bd every other day from cd8 onwards but then tapered off about a week before af was due and i ended up having a 38 day cycle that month so i must have totally missed ov (if it even took place).

I got date for my gynae apt today. Have to go on 23 July, and i figured that it will be a week after af (if it arrives on time) and hopefully i'll get another transvaginal scan to check if ive any eggs developing and find out more about the dye test.

Hows everyone else doing tonite? did af not show up yet dandelion?

TheDiceGirl · 30/06/2010 00:47

right, test has been bought and i shall be poas in the morning! I don't really have a good feeling about it though, "symptoms" have pretty much gone, although i swear i actually felt a bit sick earlier. Probably just imagining things though. Wish me luck anyway!

bossyboop · 30/06/2010 08:37

Good luck dicegirl! I dont really feel good about it for me either. Was lying in bed bursting for the loo and if dh hadnt hid the tests im sure i would have done one but not due until tomorrow.

On a good note apart from boobs feeling different and def perky I remembered that af usually starts as brown discharge a couple of days before i.e. yesterday and today but havent had that so thats promising. No sign of the pink stuff yet today either. Last night in bed a had a mild cramp, then some niggly feelings, I thought the game was up and af was going to come gushing in but so far not a smidge of anything when i wipe. I know that could easily change and maybe the pink stuff has meddled with everything. Just a bit put off from testing as in case its implantation it might not show a result yet. Oh one more sleep and i will either be in a good mood tomorrow or i will be pondering some more and feeling rubbish!

argh! Stupid test i don't think it's positive... But i can't tell. Rather than even a faint line, it's more like a few dots. I've never even had as much of a glimmer of a line before. Does this mean anything or should i just admit defeat?

Madasajarofwasps · 30/06/2010 13:05

Oh Dicegirl how infuriating. I've not heard of dots before. What sort of test is it? I would try again in a couple of days - more waiting aaaaah! But it does seem like there is still hope so hang in there.

It was just a boots test (I even used my points to pay for it - how cheap am I? ), blue dye one with a + for positive and - for negative. Tried googling it and read a million different things, some say it's still a positive and others say it's a manufacturer fault. So god knows. I'm tempted to take it apart to get a better look..

So, I will be getting a different test tomorrow.. Wish me luck (again)!

I haven't actually used one of those emmylou but I was thinking of getting one too.. So yeah any experiences with it would be very helpful!

Madasajarofwasps · 30/06/2010 13:40

That explains the dots then, if it shows a cross for a positive. Sounds hopeful but i wouldnt get excited until I saw a proper result. I used a Boots cheapie, with red dye. It was a fiver for two tests. Good luck xx

TheDiceGirl · 30/06/2010 15:09

yeah i'm not getting my hopes up, much more likely it's a manufacturer fault really. But i'll test again tomorrow just to be sure. Thanks

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 30/06/2010 20:10

Oh dice that is shite. why cant anything ever just be uncomplicated!! I really really hope its a line for you.good luck for tomorrow!!

Madas how are you feeling?

Emmy iv never used a cbfm,iv only ever used internet cheapie ov tests. Thats great that your docs being s supportive, and the fact that she specialises in family planning is a big plus. Is she only going to do tests if af doesnt show up in next 2 weeks??
