Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

1000 replies

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

Haha oops! I've actually managed to keep quiet so far which is a miracle for me. But maybe a day late is a bit soon :P

NinjaChipmunk · 17/06/2010 15:44

at least she is what i would consider a friend, not just a random colleague!

TheDiceGirl · 17/06/2010 15:49

ahh that's not so bad then!

LadyStitt · 17/06/2010 16:41

Madasajarofwasps Couldn't handle it anymore, tested early... stupid me! Guess what.... BFN!! surprise surprise...

... still full of hope though, think i need a slap round the face

period not due till 28th June.... will not test again unless it is late!!

LadyStitt · 17/06/2010 16:43

NinjaChipmunk LOLing at the thought of you blurting out your secret. I have felt like doing that too, mumsnet stops me... but also i think mumsnet adds to my crazy symptom spotting!

got my fingers crossed for you x

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 17/06/2010 19:49

Hi everyone!

Lady sorry about your bfn,but like you said it is still really early anyway

Same here Ant,my af is brown nothingness, its so weird.its still like end of af bleeding but my stomach is bloody aching now,so crampy that i would love a nice hot water bottle. though thats strange that yours has disappeared completely..implantation???

Ninja your post made me giggle.Im the same, cant hold my own water lol did you decide to buy test?

Madas you must be soooo fit, i couldnt run the length of myself . Have you thought up a suitable excuse for the non alcohol at the weekend?

Dice you maybe had an anovulatory cycle and thats why af is late and your still getting bfns. That is what pushed gp to do blood tests on me and made the discovery that i wasnt ovulating. sorry for sounding like a prophet of doom

Pussin how are you feeling today?

Madasajarofwasps · 17/06/2010 20:14

ladystitt consider yourself slapped right no more testing until 28th at least [stern faced emoticon]

ninja any news, you made me giggle too!

seany hmm I thought I was fit but i just don't have the oomph at the moment - another symptom or just post marathon can't-be-arsed anymore-ness! I think the old antibiotics excuse will have to be the one . I am sorry your cramps are getting worse, it doesn't sound too good - now who's the prophet of doom?! Hang in there xx

Good luck to everyone, I won't be about til next Monday so look after yourselves and I cna't wait to read how you are all doing. I feel I know you all a bit and just want good news for you all. Next week is going to be a toughie I will need all the help I can get to resist until Friday xx

PussinJimmyChoos · 17/06/2010 21:20

Hiya All

Lovely to be amongst fellow POAS addicts as DH thinks I am insane! Do any of your DH/DPs not get the POAS obsession??! DH does'nt understand why I test so early as 'if its negative you don't believe it anyway'....the man has a point

Have ordered a bunch of online dip tests - extra sensitive as cost of pg tests in shops are a joke

AF still not started properly! Am and am so so thirsty - I know its hot, but even in this hot weather, I'm not usually this thirsty!

Pah wish flo would hurry up and turn red so that I can just get on with it!

Madasajarofwasps · 17/06/2010 21:50

I don't bother telling DH tbh, he only moans about the money . I only tell him if its a positive, and then he doesnt believe me!! Its just compulsive isnt it - you just NEED to know whats going on in your body. I wouldn't expect a man to understand .

pussin hope you limbo ends soon one way or another. Where did you order the dip tests from?

PussinJimmyChoos · 17/06/2010 22:12

Ordered tests from here:

www.zoombaby.co.uk/

They are really good - can't fault their service - have been using them for the ovulation kits and usually receive them within 48 hrs of ordering

Have got the extra sensitive tests this time...not sure if that is a good idea in case have chemical pregnancy but at least if I test earlish next month and get BFN, I'll be more inclined to believe it!

Where has flo gone!! I should be on the red stuff by now!

NinjaChipmunk · 18/06/2010 08:48

well, i counted the last months cycles yesterday - 26 days, 28 days and 2 x 27 days (in that order). today is day 30 this month and have been feeling a bit nauseous this morning so did a first response with fmu (ooh I'm learning the lingo!) and.......BFN
I'm never late so i really don't get whats going on here. will just have to wait i guess. if still nothing will test again on Sunday i think.
has anyone had bfn's after they were due AF then went on to bfp's?
at least I'm not at work today so can only tell you lot!

Madasajarofwasps · 18/06/2010 09:50

Aw ninga its madness isnt it. I am sure I read on another thread that people have had BFN's after AF due and then got a positive. So there is still hope. I hope you have a nice day off - go shopping and treat yourself, to take your mind off things .

I am meant to be packing, but sneaked on while DH is in the shower . Really don't feel like camping tbh, all that getting up in the night to wee . I have roughly worked out that I might be 14 dpo on Tuesday so might test then - ah my resolve is so strong!! At least I can't test over the weekend in a tent .

Take care everyone xx

Madasajarofwasps · 18/06/2010 09:51

Oh and thanks for the link pussin I will def order if this turns out to be a long term adventure .

NinjaChipmunk · 18/06/2010 09:56

have fun madas, are you camping anywhere exciting?
keep that resolve strong! i'm having random cramps now so maybe af is just late? hmm, will see. i'd just like to know one way or another, i can cope with being pregnant or not being pregnant but i can't cope with not knowing!

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 19/06/2010 08:48

Hi everyone

Ninja sorry about the bfn but dont lose hope just yet..

Pussin has af arrived properly yet?

mines is well and truly here. Have got a docs apt for thursday so gonna get him to ring consultant for me to speed next hospital apt up so will hopefully get a date soon.

Ds announced to me yesterday that he wants a baby brother to take home, then 30 seconds later changed his mind to a sister.ive no idea what made him say it,we were in the car and just pulling up in our driveway,i was listening to the radio and he was chittering away to himself when he just came out and said it.it made me feel so sad

Hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys the nice weather

NinjaChipmunk · 19/06/2010 15:15

oh seany i hope your doc can do that for you. can't begin to think how harrd that must be.

still no af here, will wait till mon/ tues i think then test again if nothing happening.

TheDiceGirl · 19/06/2010 16:16

seany i was actually reading about anovulatory cycles today funnily enough. It would make a lot of sense really seeing as i don't really feel pg. I'd rather it just be that than something more serious anyway i still have nothing, i don't even feel like af is due any time soon. I'm thinking about holding out till cd60 before i test/go to doctors. It's cd45 now. Hope your gp can speed up that appointment for you x

PussinJimmyChoos · 19/06/2010 20:33

Hiya all, how are we doing this evening?

Well, after taking her sweet bloody time, flo showed up but at least I can get on with next cycle now - its the not knowing that drives you insane!

Have my first appt with fertility consultant in two weeks...am very nervous...worried that my em cs with DS may have nicked my tubes or something...

Foof groomage also required!!

TTCbabyNo1 · 19/06/2010 21:43

Hiya ladies,

I have just been reading you latest posts as I came across this thread and found the title very interesting. I have to say I really sympathise with you all. Hope you don't mind me butting in!

The fact is I know I will be symptom spotting as soon as I am half a day past OV, when the time comes.

I'm on my first Cycle TTC - its day 8 atm. I've been PG before but that all ended in tears. I'll spare you the details I'm annoying myself wanting to talk about it all the time now!!

Anyhoo, some of your posts even made me laugh out loud, which I suppose is a good thing. Keeping a sense of humor about the situation is probably the best thing to do although not always easy I can imagine.

I keep telling myself I won't obsess and I'll take it easy and when it happens it'll happend. But I'm already driving myself INSANE......LOL!

Well I hope it works out for everyone evetually and thanks to everyone who has posted on hear already I've realised I'm really not that mad LOL!

Thanks Everyone x

XhereshopingX · 19/06/2010 23:45

Just to confuse you all and cos I can I've changed my nickname. Thought I'd let you know in case I post on here again and your wondering who it is!!!
X

TheDiceGirl · 20/06/2010 10:02

hey guys i have a question about anovulatory cycles for anyone who might know. Obviously you don't bleed because you don't ovulate, but do you ovulate after you've missed the period, or would you not ovulate until the cycle after af has actually shown up?

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 20/06/2010 21:33

Dice my friend is preg with her first and she had an anovulatory cycle with no bleed and got preg the following month,so i guess it is possible (though she has pcos so dont know if that makes a difference).

Hiya xhereshoping and good luck!!

pussin hope the 2 weeks fly in for you. I understand your nerves and will keep my fingers crossed for you that all is ok x

how is everyone else doing?
Af is almost gone for me,it was a flying visit this time. i bought some evening primrose oil today as i have been told it help regulates cycles and i am also rejoining weightwatchers next week. my willpower has returned with a vengence

TheDiceGirl · 20/06/2010 22:43

ah that's good to know, thanks seany i won't completely give up hope for the month then! I'm starting my healthy eating plan next week too let's hope we can both stick at it! good luck to everyone else!

ah i'm only one day ahead of you then emmylou um i think antibiotics can mess your cycle up a bit, not sure how much effect it would have if you only took it for a week though.. Maybe you'll have a late bfp? You never know! x
