I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

Oh yeah - me and my husband have spent the last 3 days screaming at each other... somehow his mother thinks that I should play happy berlumming families and go for Xmas, a month and a half before I would have been due with the baby I miscarried and bow down at the shrine of the pregnant SIL. I ain't going - so she rang three times yesterday to try to get hold of me for a "chat"... thank God for caller ID.

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2f2124 I think should work. Chart's usually a mess cos of insomnia - this month's is somewhat less screwed up apart from the gaps where I was away/got the hump and didn't bother sticking the thermometer anywhere - although in the eye of a pregnant woman seems a nice attractive idea.

spilttheteaagain · 27/07/2010 17:53

Oh guys I am so sorry you are all so down.

I remember 2 years ago when I was begging DH to TTC and he kept saying "not yet, not yet" and (I shit you not) EVERY woman at work of childbearing age who was in a relationship was either pregnant or on maternity leave. Everytime another one became obvious, or another birth announcement came out I would go and cry in the toilets. It's shit and feels so lonely.

Good luck bessie with your SWI. Fingers crossed one of them finds the egg.

Thinking of you all, be kind to yourselves xx

emptyshell · 27/07/2010 17:59

One day the toilets of the nation will collapse under the collective weight of all the tears that have been shed in them from women trying for a kid.

felicityFlick · 28/07/2010 18:49

Hi Charters,

Just been reading your lovely thread as I am usually a charter but due to being on holiday for the past month (teacher!) I have not been charting because of the time difference.

I just wanted to drop by and leave a message for Ladygonegaga as my luteal phase is a mahoosive 18 days! My ovulation day has varied over the past four months (day 19,15,14,14) but my luteal phase has always been 18 so perhaps it is possible that yours is long too?

Hope to speak more with you all when I'm back to charting

bessie26 · 28/07/2010 21:10

hope you guys are feeling a bit more cheery today? I'm feeling quite pleased with myself as I not only did I manage to get out for a run this evening, I dodged two heavy downpours!

Hi to felicity - it must be lovely to have the summer hols off! When I was a kid I didn't really enjoy them as I used to get bored, but I could find plenty of stuff to do now!

Afraid I don't know what the 'rules' are for the length of your LP, I just know it's always supposed to be (roughly) the same. FF tells me that mine does vary & that I might need to do a "manual override"?

Does anyone remember the rules for identifying CM/SF? I know one will float in water & one won't, but I can never remember which way round it is.

LadyGoneGaga · 28/07/2010 22:16

Bessie CM will kind of ball up and stay together and maybe sink when you put it in water. But if you tey and fish it out again you can still do the stretchy thing (yuck). Semen will sort of fall apart in water and you can't pick it back up.

Felicity Thanks for that. FF now thinks I ovved day 13 which makes a bit more sense - still have a suspicion LP might be long though as had more like 33 day cycles lately, unless I'm returning to previous 28 day form? we will see when AF appears I guess. Unless we get lucky - SWI'ed on ov day!

LadyGoneGaga · 28/07/2010 22:17

Try and fish it out.

Danilou22 · 30/07/2010 09:11

With the lovely thought that is now in my head from LadyGoneGaga I am popping in to tell you I am off on my holls so taking a break from temping. Hopefully I will be able to come back and go for a blood test (have to wait for af to arrive first)

Speak to you all soon and happy charting to one and all. x

Orchid12 · 31/07/2010 14:09

Hi all,
Hope you're all feeling a smidge better? I'm currently on CD22 and no sign of OV at all . Chart has gone a bit dodgy and no OPK or EWCM still. Am now utterly convinced that this is an annovulatory cycle as normally have signs by now. Does anyone know how many annovulatory cycles are normal in a year? Do you think that EPO might have an effect, as this is the second cycle of me taking it and last month I OV'd later than I normally do (although I did OV on CD21).

I do hate this TTC lark. I keep seeing bumps and babies everywhere and it's really getting to me. We're into month 9 now and I told my mum the other day that we are having trouble as I couldn't cope with her telling me who else she knows that is PG again, it was getting too much!!

Anyway, enough of the mememememe.

Dani enjoy your holiday and the break from charting!

beachtent · 31/07/2010 14:10

Hi all, sorry I disappeared for a while... will be off again as getting married and going away for a couple of weeks, I hope that by the time I get back there is some good news to be found here! So sorry some of you have been feeling so low about all this, I really am keeping everything (apart from my legs ) crossed for you. Enjoy the summer while it's here. xxx

bessie26 · 31/07/2010 20:45

getting married beach? oooh Congratulations!!! have a super fab day & we'll all have our fingers crossed for a honeymoon baby for you!

and danilou is off on her hols too I am very jealous. The only holidays I have to "look forward" to are going to visit pg SIL & then again when she has the baby.

orchid is a bummer about your lack of O (no idea about EPO I'm afraid) FF says that you get watery CM before EWCM, so perhaps you've just been delayed? Have you been sick or stressed?
FF also says "it is not abnormal to have an occasional anovulatory cycle" so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's happened a few times before? If it is stressing you out, then why not go see your Dr about getting booked in for some blood tests? (I had them taken around day 3 & 18)

I am sick of it all too. This is our 13th cycle of TTC & I just want to get pg so I can just enjoy having SFF again! I've possibly got a thyroid problem and I'm starting to pin all my hopes on getting that sorted now, so god only knows what I'll do if fixing that doesn't fix me!

emptyshell · 01/08/2010 18:14

Following the promising day 6 post ov dip - it appears temps are starting to drop in preparation for the inevitable tomorrow.

Am NOT happy bunny.

Orchid12 · 02/08/2010 07:05

Beach congratulations on forthcoming nuptials Enjoy!

Bes good luck with getting throid prob sorted. My SIL also has throid issue and now has a lovely wee man so keep the faith . 13 cycles TTC is hard going, we're on cycle 7, month 9 which feels like a lifetime but obv really isn't compared to some.

empty hugs for you. Hope it's a temporary blip and it's not the inevitable.

As for me, well it appears that I am actually OV'ing this month. Got a positive OPK on Sat and Sun on CD 22, 23, which means I should OV today. My temp took a nosedive, and finally got recognisable EWCM so my body looks like it has finally remembered what to do, albeit a week later than normal. I read somewhere on here that OV after CD18 means your egg is probably too old to fertilise so not feeling good about OV'ing on CD24 but beggers can't be choosers hey! Has anyone else heard this?

Flighttattendant · 02/08/2010 07:26

So sorry to intrude, lovely ladies but may I ask something being new to temp charting?

I got a reading of 37.1 on 5dpo, felt very hot the last few nights though didn't take it until yesterday (10dpo) when it had gone up to 37.3.

I have been looking on FF at charts and most of them don't go near this hot but some that do are triphasic.

Now 11dpo and just wondering if it could mean anything. Obviously it's not very reliable as I'm so new to it.

But it would help me to know other people get this hot too!

Thankyou and good luck to all x

LadyGoneGaga · 02/08/2010 09:49

Hi Flightattendant I got this hot this morning and not ovulated yet!

But the important thing is what is normal for you. Can you share your chart?

Flighttattendant · 02/08/2010 12:33

Thankyou very much! I would try and link but tbh it is a bit hit and miss this time as it's the first cycle I've charted for about 4 years.

It's good to know I'm not a total freak though

bessie26 · 02/08/2010 14:08

orchid I have never heard anything about Oing after CD18 being bad & I think it's a load of tosh. I just checked my old charts (in excel!) from when i got pg with DD & I O'd around CD19-20. Also, a lady I know used to have cycles between 6-8 months long, so must have O'd well after CD18 & she has a DD too!

Hi flight - as ladyggg says, it's whatever's normal for you that matters. My temps have never gone above 37 post-O (apart from when I'm sick), but then my temps are always on the low side! (did anyone else wear socks to bed last night? )

rosieposey · 02/08/2010 14:08

Hi ladies, can you tell me if its too late for me to start charting (im on CD 2)? I meant to get a bbt thermometer but just didnt have time.

Could i start tomorrow at all? TIA

bessie26 · 02/08/2010 14:10

rosie - no, you're not too late! go get that BBT now!

rosieposey · 02/08/2010 14:39

boots here i come Thanks!

emptyshell · 02/08/2010 18:06

OK - so being mentally prepared for the temp drop today... it's gone up like a rocket. Internet cheapie tests were neg, well at 11 minutes (meant to chuck after 10 but was doing the mind powers willing lines to appear thing) there was a complete and utter squinter of a line there - which is more than likely an evap line since I still feel crampy as hell and vaguely murderous (ok, so I tend to want to stab the world with a spoon anyway).

Brain hurty - this chart is determined to muck with my mind.

spilttheteaagain · 02/08/2010 18:49

Oh how knuckle chewingly nerve wracking empty!

I have everything crossed for you. How many DPO are you and when is AF due?

hippychick66 · 02/08/2010 18:59

Keep us informed empty. We are dying to know. Good luck. Make sure you have a good strong sample when you next test (basically if it smells like a man's urinal - go for it )

emptyshell · 02/08/2010 19:02

AF's due today - I'm not holding up any hope of a happy ending for this to be honest, considering the last week's been utterly utterly pants with SiL getting pregnant nice and easily, being told that basically for mortgage purposes I'm never going to exist as far as income's concerned and... well I'm waiting for kick in the teeth number 3 to come - which I think will be the RTD.

I'm not even bothering planning when to re-test to be honest because it's inevitably a negative or drags on for like a month with no AF and I'm sick of living my life in limbo.

beachtent · 02/08/2010 20:13

empty big hugs coming your way. I thought you said you had a faint line on your pregnancy test though? What was that about? I think you should retest in the morning, if you can stand to. Although I totally understand where you're coming from, you sound so down in the dumps. Anything you can do to try to lift your mood? Please don't lose hope.
