I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

shell that many lines cannot be evaporation lines. Think we're looking at a graduate...

emptyshell · 04/08/2010 10:03

OK - went to Tesco (rather charmingly leaving my FMU specimen ready for when I got back).

Mister First Response says yes.
Mister Hideously Expensive ClearBlueShouldMakeTheTeaForWhatItCosts says yes - 1-2...

Booked into docs tomorrow, but terrified since last time I got this far and then the positives disappeared pretty much overnight. I'm literally praying every night that my temps are high in the morning at the moment.

Oh please implant properly and stay put this time... please... please... please!

bessie26 · 04/08/2010 12:33

Yay!!!

Orchid12 · 04/08/2010 13:51

Woohooo - we have a graduate! Will keep fingers crossed for you that all stays well for you empty - you deserve it!

After some googling last night, I now think that you are all on the right lines and it is stress that is putting my cycles out. I looked back through my charts and it's not uncommon for me to have some long cycles when I'm stressed. Funny thing is that I thought I was dealing with all this and that my stress levels were lower this month. Perhaps not....I'm stil not hopeful that despite SWI for the past week that the egg will now be any good and my hormones will be in any sort of order to receive it. I must get a handle on my emotions but it's hard, especially when I thought I was doing ok this month!!!

hippychick66 · 04/08/2010 16:47

empty Congrats honey. Hope it sticks around for you lovie. xx

Only just read all this and had a good feeling about the faint lines - zoomed up to the top and here is your good news!!

Think calm thoughts and don't obsess about the temps. You are probably lying awake waiting to temp which could effect it.

I stopped temping once I got a positive cos I didn't want to find out I was about to MC by taking my temp. IYSWIM.

Just cos you MC's last time DOES NOT mean you will this time. Keep positive but guard your heart as much as possible.

orchid sorry to hear things are rough for you. It's so bloody hard to relax and TTC at the same time isn't it.

As for me - feeling a bit crap cos it's nearly my due date for my MMC in feb and I appear to have a UTI. But it's nearly ovulation time so I am once again gonna have to wear the old vest tops and shorts. My friend just put a picture of me on FB and I look awful and huge - yummy (why does my DH like my body??? )

spilttheteaagain · 04/08/2010 16:58

Well done empty!!

Wishing you a sticky one.

theteasonme · 04/08/2010 17:19

Yay!! 3 bloody years empty - you deserve this so, so much. I really hope it's a keeper and you have a happy and uneventful 9 months xxx

emptyshell · 04/08/2010 17:42

Thanks guys :D

Last one I miscarried on day 32/33 so I'll feel much happier when I make it to the other side of the weekend.

Sent the husband a picture message of the stick saying pregnant - emailed him at work to say to check his phone - he'd left it at home... grrrr!!!!

LittleSilver · 04/08/2010 19:54

empty I was thinking about you today, sooo glad to hear the fabulous news! Well done you.

FWIW, I also stopped temping as soon as I got conclusive BFP.

Orchid12 · 04/08/2010 20:07

Please can I rant one more time? I've done another OPK today expecting to get a negative after the previous two days of positives, and guess what - I got another positive! I NEVER get three positives in a row so what on earth is going on? I've also just discovered some EWCM . Tried to convince Mr O to have a go at SWI tonight but poor bloke has got -ahem - sore bits from SWI for the past 7 days whilst I kept on saying it is still a good time. So, looks like we have peaked too early . RAHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm hoping beyond hope that I'm OV'ing today and will get a temp rise tomorrow. If not, I think I will scream as don't think I can tempt Mr O into any more SWI for a while now. Somebody have a word with my ovaries please and tell them to sort it out.

hippychick66 · 04/08/2010 20:56

orchid hopefully all the lads from the previous SWI's will still be hanging around for a while and will wait for the egg.

Poor old mr O with his sore bits - we do make them perform don't we!

Can't remember - do you have irregular cycles or Polycystic ovaries ?? just asking cos it is unusual to get 3 days worth of LH surge.

Orchid12 · 04/08/2010 21:08

I know, poor chap has tried his best!
I have irregular cycles. I've not been tested for PCOS but having 3 days of LH surge has also put that thought in my head. I'm wondering whether a trip to the doctor is in order to ask for day proper blood tests to be done. I did have an internal ultrasound done last month, however, and that suggested that all was clear. Would PCOS show up on an ultrasound?

spilttheteaagain · 04/08/2010 21:13

LittleSilver how are you these days? Have you had your dating scan now?

hippychick66 · 04/08/2010 21:13

I don't know much about PCOS. But there are a couple of experts on this thread who will be along soon to help you I'm sure.

i only mentioned it cos I had heard it CAN cause lots of LH surges.

hope you get the answers you need.

Have visions of your DH with a bag of frozen peas on his bits

LadyGoneGaga · 05/08/2010 10:02

I don't think I've ovved this cycle. FF is counting the spike i had due to tummy bug but just thing body hasn't managed it due to the breastfeeding which will by why not pregnant yet when I managed to get pg from one accidental shag last time.

But this gives me the kick up the bum I need to night wean DS. (Will start with that first). Managed not to feed him last night - he did cry when he woke up but we cuddled back to sleep instead (is comfort only really). Bit tired today but quite pleased. He even didn't ask for his morning feed!

hippychick66 · 05/08/2010 12:02

empty how are you?? Still in ???

emptyshell · 05/08/2010 13:47

Line on First Response darker today (the internet cheapies are just messing with my mind) - went to the doctor, I now have a Bounty pack which I guess is akin to walking back to the car with a placard saying "UPDUFFED" - still very crampy and not at all sick today so I'm not trusting anything at all - tomorrow's the clincher as it was day 32 when things started to fall apart last time so it's a big psychological thing.

Boobs hurt too much for this to be chemical though I think - and on this very day last time round the lines on tests had started to get fainter so I'm trying to be positive.

Couldn't make myself upchuck with a Macdonald's breakfast though - I did try it as a challenge. Must be the only woman in the world praying to spend 3 months with her head stuck down the loo puking! Doc was kinda useless - didn't even use the wheelie thing to give me a guestimated due date (good job they're all over the internets muwhahahaha)... not much they can do I guess.

So today - boobometer says yes, pukeometer says not sure.

LadyGoneGaGa - FF was driving me crackers with musical ovulation dates the other month - I sometimes think it sees things where there's nothing there.

LadyGoneGaga · 05/08/2010 13:55

empty I don't think I started feeling pukey until about 6 or 7 weeks last time so please don't worry about lack of nausea. I had a spell of bleeding too between 5 and 6 weeks and convinced was going to miscarry so spent 5 days in bed alternately praying and prodding my boobs to see if they still hurt and seeing if I still felt tired (was all fine in end). The anxiety sucks though.

Have you stopped temping now?

emptyshell · 05/08/2010 14:26

Ended up on the sofa last night with a combination of insomnia, snoring husband, snoring cat so didn't take any temps today cos I'd left the thermometer upstairs! Not sure if I'll keep on with it or not - once I get over this weekend it's the big psychological thing as tomorrow's the time point where the last one went wrong (today is when lines started to fade so them going darker is a good thing I guess).

spilttheteaagain · 05/08/2010 17:57

empty I didn't start getting sick until about 6 weeks either so enjoy feeling ok while it lasts and make the most of your food before it's all vile!

LittleSilver · 05/08/2010 19:19

empty I didn't get sick either til about six weeks. Prior to that I was happily stuffing fried egg and bacon sandwiches down me .

I'm OK thanks spilt. Suddenly feel lots better, not sick anymore. Very noticeable bump though, am already parading my Isabella Oliver new wrap top round work despite them Not Officially Knowing yet. Not had dating scan because I choose not to have routine ultrasound scans. But happy days, have got old midwife to agree to have me on her caseload despite my moving out of area(she was my mw for DDs1-3 and have great relationship with her, so that means a lot). I'm seeing her in a couple of weeks so will be nearly 15 weeks at booking in!

How are our other graduates?

OP posts:
LittleSilver · 05/08/2010 19:21

Oh, Orchid, meant to say, I have PCOS and it def showed up on the scan; that said, I am sure I have read about women being asymptomatic on scans but PCOS showing up on blood work. Good luck.

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 05/08/2010 19:36

I'm glad you got your MW of choice silver, it makes a big difference to have someone you trust & like.

I got booked in today, dating scan next Friday (it will be such a relief to get this pg confirmed by something other than 3 internet cheapie pg sticks!)

MW seems very nice, she got called away to a homebirth at the end so I was glad I was the first appointment! I went to work all misty eyed thinking of someone getting their little baby today.

She reckons thus far I appear to be low risk so can choose homebirth/hospital or the little MLU nearby. I don't think I'll pick the hospital (Gloucester) so it's a toss up between the Stroud unit (everyone says how lovely it is there, 1-1 care through labour, great food, several pools, ensuite delivery rooms, loads of good BF support etc) or home. I shall go and look at Stroud and see.

Quite excited!

hippychick66 · 05/08/2010 20:14

littlesilver can't believe you are so far along already. other people's pregnancies go so fast.

I guess I would have been coming up for 14 weeks if the last one had stuck. Worse though is the fact that the one I lost in Feb would have been due in 3.5 weeks that is such a kicker .

Still it's nearly ovulation day and so I am once again trying to look sexy Keep on going Hippy - you'll get there again.

LittleSilver · 06/08/2010 12:41

hippy I'm sorry, I hope I didn't make you feel bad Sad. I always remember the one we lost on it's EDD (March 13th). Weird to think that had things been different, I'd have a 7 year old sitting with my DDs right now.

BV, great to hear good news about your scan!
