I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

Glad to make you giggle silver. Enjoy all the food!

I have started temping again - just to see where i am with ovulation etc.

i've noticed that my starting temp seems to be higher than it was when i was trying last (May). Could this be cos the weather is hotter???

My pre-ovulation temp was always 36.35 going up to 36.75/85 after ovulation.

But my pre-ovulation temp is coming out at about 36.45/50.

Does the hot weather effect the BBT - anyone know???

LittleSilver · 06/07/2010 18:59

I'd put money on it being the weather

Hi everyone,

I have been enjoying reading all the posts!Glad to see you are back in the sadle Hippy!

Well, still looks like an annovulatory cycle I am now CD41 and so therefore AF is late and even if I am still going to ovulate my partner has gone away for a couple of weeks so not much hope there! Would really like AF now so I can start again! Not sure the EPO was a good idea for me

I am having a few cramps and am having waves of nausea and dizzyness(not sure that is a word!)

I am off for my scan in a week so will hopefully have more idea of what the problem (if there is one) is.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

bessie26 · 06/07/2010 22:00

Danilou - I'm liking the overlaid graphs! (I guess you have the paid-for version of FF?) But bummer about the annovulatory cycle, I think I'm having my second one in a row, but keep telling myself it's just coz of MC & everything will be fine next cycle.
AF now, so you have an eggy waiting to go when your partner gets back sounds like a good plan! Watch out though... I didn't O earlier this year (due to fever), and the next cycle I O'd on CD10 instead of the usual CD16!
what is EPO?

hippy you did guess my plan, but it was scuppered by DH snoring when I got into bed!
I had MC last summer (5wks) and again in May (8wks). GP is trying to get me referred as it's taking us so long to get PG, but she has warned me we are likely to be rejected as I've got myself PG 3 times in the last 3 years (DD is 20months )
I would have thought the hot weather must affect our temps, but I've just checked & my CL is still around 36.2?!

littlesilver your cravings are funny all I ever wanted was fruit & yogurt - I would have eaten it for breakfast, lunch & dinner if DH had let me!

Orchid12 · 07/07/2010 07:58

Hi all,
bessie EPO I think is Oil of Evening Primrose. It's meant to help with the production of EWCM.

I tested last night on 11DPO and got a BFN. I was expecting it but was still when I saw it. Means that DH does have to have his SA tomorrow. Pants and more pants!

I think the hot weather does affect my temps. My post OV temps have been very high. They're just starting to come down now as I near the end of my cycle but todays was still 36.80!

Am trying to be positive about next month. The last two cycles have looked more normal than the previous ones so I think my hormones may be settling after breastfeeding. I think the Agnus Castus and EPO have helped to straighten me out. Do you think I should start them again with the next cycle or stop now given that I think my hormones are back in sync? What have other people done?

hippychick66 · 07/07/2010 13:27

Ok I have worked out how to play my hubbie like a filddle

Pre-ovulation when i have egg whites i shall be wearing vest tops and shorts to bed and to wander about the house (his favorite - sorry TMI!). He then thinks about doing the deed a lot more and suggests it.

Post ovulation I will be wearing baggy t-shirts and long pj bottoms to bed and to wander about the house thus he wont think about sex and wont suggest it.

hence, we will end up having more sex pre-ovulation WITHOUT him feeling used - ahh bless him.

i believe it's called subliminal advertising!!

Please feel free to nick this plan if you need to .

Love to all. Can't name check as i'm at work and not sure who is reading this !!!!!

emptyshell · 07/07/2010 15:34

My temps are still high - but the RTD arrived today. I'm confuddled.

LittleSilver · 07/07/2010 18:46

emptyshell I'm thick, what's RTD?

hippy I like the plan! I also tried, erm, casually picking stufff up off the floor in short shirts

Orchid! What are you thinking of woman, 11dpo FAR too early for even a TWP! Good luck for tomorrow, may the swimmers swim!

OP posts:
emptyshell · 07/07/2010 19:08

RTD = red tide of doom.

I'm actually not sure how much of a "tide" this is - it appears to have slowed to an unenthusiastic dribble, and it's slightly early - I know what I'm hoping... but the pee sticks say nope. But the pee sticks ARE internet cheapies bought just to satisfy that urge that only a good pee-sticking will satisfy so I don't know - guess I see what the thermometer says tomorrow.

Going by last month though my temperature dropped the exact day the floodgates opened but it hasn't done that this time - it's went up a bit today.

spilttheteaagain · 07/07/2010 19:37

I like RTD. It's less cheesy than AF!

Let us know what happens with your temps tomorrow empty, it sounds like there is hope. Do you know how many DPO you are?

So hippy are you in the skimpy clothes or the baggy T-shirts at this stage??

Did you enjoy your vol au vents silver? I wish I wanted to eat anything. Went to the docs today and got prescribed some anti-emetics. I feel such a wuss but I cannot cope with this interminable all day horrific nausea I have never felt so ill in my life.

emptyshell · 07/07/2010 19:59

I originally had my FF showing ovulation on day 17, it readjusted it to day 19 but I thought that was very late so I'd set that one to disregard. Puts me at either 9 or 12 DPO. The bleeding which started yesterday has stopped already, and was a day or so early by my usual standards (I'm generally 28-30 days, never shorter as a rule).

Temps were still high yesterday which I thought was the first day of my period, and went up a little bit more today (definitely in the second half of my cycle temp range).

The times I've had what I thought was a slightly early period I've actually turned out to be pregnant is what's got my hopes still slightly in the game to be honest - almost the exact same deal the month I miscarried, period showed about day 26/7, hung around for a day and vanished.

I prefer RTD to Auntie Flo so much though - although I'd like Red Tide of Armageddon or similar even more!

spilttheteaagain · 07/07/2010 20:04

Trouble is RTA is a Road Traffic Accident!

Sounds like it's exactly the right timing for implantation. Fingers crossed for you.

hippychick66 · 07/07/2010 20:29

empty could still be good new. keep us informed. Fingers crossed.

For those who are interested - I will be going to bed tonight in a small vest & shorts . I seem to be having egg whites. But I have only been getting a faint line on an OPK. Does a faint line mean it's working it's way up to a darker line or does it not work like that???

What was the trick silver said about using a glass of water to check whether it's egg whites or sperm?? - I'm guessing one floats (God what am I doing????)

what is a TWP???

Danilou22 · 07/07/2010 21:03

Keep us posted empty!

Still no AF for me, not sure what is going on but I do keep crying at random things!!

Do you know, If I wasn't charting I would be really excited by now and running out for a test

emptyshell · 07/07/2010 21:08

I haven't seen Delia do a programme on how to tell the difference between egg white and sperm yet hairy but I'm sure she could get a series and book out of that one!

bessie26 · 07/07/2010 21:35

mmmm.. i wonder what delights she could conjure up with those ingredients? A really dodgy tasting meringue?

theteasonme · 07/07/2010 22:18

Hi ladies, temps have stayed high so I guess I must have ovulated without EWCM or any pain. I'm officially on the 2ww! It's been a strange cycle though, I don't even know what CD I'm on, I've been forgetting my pills loads & just haven't got that desperate feeling I usually have. Maybe it's an end of term thing?!

Well, test day will be Sat 17th so fingers crossed please!!

Hope you're all well, sorry for not name checking xxx

LittleSilver · 08/07/2010 07:53

TWP= teeny weeny positive.

spilt, you poor thing. I've lost 4lb but don't think I'm feeling as pants as you.

hippy, my copy of TCOYF is with a friend, or I'd look it up for you!

OP posts:
emptyshell · 08/07/2010 12:06

Temp drop came today.

chocciechip · 08/07/2010 13:00

Sorry to hear that empty. teas ... maybe its not such a bad thing - sounds as if you might be 'relaxed' (a word I am not fond of having sent my way)

Ladies, I don't know if I ovulated this month. My chart's here, and FF seems a bit confused, as I am.

My CBFM gave me peaks on CD 13 and 14, and past history would suggest I ovulated on CD 14 (which charting confirms). But on this occassion CD13 was a very bad night and messed up the next day's temps: I got about one hour sleep and was intensely stressed, so my CD14 temp (which was high) has been discarded. I think FF struggling without it.

If I don't discard it, FF thinks I ov'd on CD13. With it discarded, FF thinks I ov'd on CD12 (very very early for me), but is giving me dotted lines because this conflicts with the CBFM info.

I am especially concerned when I overlay my charts . This cycle seems much much 'lower' than the others. DH thinks I probably have not ov'd yet at all.

What do you think? Do you think I should do a manual override and set it to CD14? Or do you think I have not ov'd yet ... or ov'd when FF says? I don't know what to do.

hippychick66 · 08/07/2010 13:17

empty sorry to hear that - it's all pants - isn't it lovie.

LittleSilver · 08/07/2010 19:44

Sorry empty

choccie, I'm not convinced you've ov'd yet either. TBH I'd be tempted to give it a couple more tmps and see what happens. You don't check CP do you? I found that a really helpful criss-referencer.

8rubberduckies · 08/07/2010 20:19

Hi all just checking in as I'm moving tomorrow and won't have the internet for a week or so (help!), have EWCM but too knackered to do anything about it what with packing all day, arrrgh! Bad timing! May have to have a stiff upper lip and get the shorts and vest top out anyway and prop my eyelids open with matchsticks or something, for our last night in the house and all that

You have all made me laugh out loud catching up with your posts this evening, and I'm looking forward to catching up with the thread either when I get connected again at home or if I feel the need for a crafty skive at work.

choccie I wish I could give you some pearls of wisdom but I am new to this temping thing and am still feeling my way with ff!

bessie, on the subject of camping.... erm, ashamed to say it was more Glamping than Camping, we stayed in a yurt with beds, a woodburner and everything! Kind of cheating, but my God it was a million times easier than any camping I've ever done before, especially with a toddler in tow!

LittleSilver · 08/07/2010 20:47

ood luck with moving 8rubberduckies. If it's any help, DH and I conceived DD1 during a house move .

I feel thoroughly sick. I ordered those damn vol-au-vents and never want to lay eyes on one ever again.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 08/07/2010 20:53

Well, I never thought I'd say it, but AF arrived today - woohoo!

Time to dust off the ol' thermometer and start obsessing again!

That month off was so-o-o-o-o long!
