I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

But tomorrow is father's Day! [pathetic emoticon]

FF agrees I am triphasic, by the way! I will write a letter of complaint to my own body if I am not pg.

theteasonme · 19/06/2010 18:45

ooh B have got high hopes for you hon! x

LittleSilver · 19/06/2010 19:58

Ooooh Bunder! (I would SO test tomorrow!!) Good luck!!!

hippy, how you doing girl?

BabyValentine · 19/06/2010 21:26

Oooh, Bunder, if FF says you're triphasic, well that is something else. TBH, despite my erm, formidable willpower, I would also be taking Father's (or is it Fathers') Day as some kind of sign. Not that I am encouraging early testing, of course

BUnderTheBonnet · 20/06/2010 08:33

Aargh! Still the same this morning, with FMU and everything. It must be an evap line. I am actually going a little but mental, aren't I? Temps still high though, and FF still thinking triphasic.

hippychick66 · 20/06/2010 16:37

Hi guys. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news on Father's day but i wanted to let you all know.

I've been bleeding and cramping since yesterday, it looks like I'm having an MC.

I'm disappointed but not really surprised - I think I've been preparing myself for this for the last week.

I'm just wondering now if perhaps my eggs are just no good now. Is there a test I can have? I have never even had my FSH levels checked at 3 days and I have googled about and found that a very high FSH can mean love quantity or poor quality reserves.

I have an appointment for tomorrow morning to see my GP and will discuss with her.(I made the appointment last week cos I just had a feeling this was gonna happen).

I still have my lovely DH and my boys and I honest don't feel too bad - just sad and maybe a little scared about how much more bleeding and pain there s gonna be.

Thanks to you all of you for your positivity and care.
xx

BUnderTheBonnet · 20/06/2010 17:02

Hippy I'm so sorry - I've been there myself and I now how crap and traumatic it is. Thinking of you for the next few days and I hope your DH is giving you lots of support in RL. We're all here for a no holds barred moan as well.

theteasonme · 20/06/2010 17:49

Oh hippy I'm so, so sorry. I really didn't think it would come to this. Your GP sounds lovely from your other posts so I hope she can point you in the right direction from here. Try to take it easy hon and if the pain gets bad take whatever you can to dull it. We're all here if you need us. Sending lots of love to you and yours xx

spilttheteaagain · 20/06/2010 18:12

Hippy that's awful, I'm really sorry

Be kind to yourself and come and find us if you want some company.

All the best to you and your family xx

BabyValentine · 20/06/2010 20:11

Oh, hippy you poor soul. I am so very, very sorry. I hope it isn't too painful for you. Please come and chat if you need us. x

BUnderTheBonnet · 20/06/2010 20:30

I wasn't imagining the triphasic thing - got a BFP on clearblue digital

Danilou22 · 20/06/2010 20:43

CONGRATULATIONS B!!

That is great!

I am saying a but hallelujah this evening too as on CD22 FF has finally decided that I ovulated!!! Hooray hooray hurrah. The deed was done on the correct day (and before and after ) so I have lots of fingers toes and everything crossed for this month.

B your news has cheered me up even more. Well done you!

hippychick66 · 20/06/2010 20:52

Congrats B. I was hoping they weren't evap lines.

All the best xx

theteasonme · 20/06/2010 20:55

Yay!! Congrats B that's wonderful news xxx

8rubberduckies · 20/06/2010 21:05

So so sorry hippy I'm thinking of you.

Congrats B

spilttheteaagain · 20/06/2010 22:14

Congratulations BUnder that's fab news!

And well done Dani, sounds very promising.

Am now 9 DPO with a standard LP of 9-10 days so watching my knickers with interest. If AF is late, I'm either pg, or the B6/EPO I'm taking has lengthened my LP. Either would be good, but obv one is preferable...

spilttheteaagain · 21/06/2010 07:20

10 DPO and still hot! Think this means I'm unlikely to bleed today doesn't it?

If so, as at my LP would be at least 10 days.

FF wants me to test tomorrow which is surely madness at 11 DPO... Will Not Do It

hippychick66 · 21/06/2010 12:15

Went to see my lovely GP. She looked so sad for me - bless her.

She agrees that it doesn't look very good but said there was a slight posibility it could still be ok. I said that I found it easier to think of it as all over, rather than cling to some hope (that's just how I'm dealing with it).

She has signed me off with a 'threatened' miscarriage. Because so far the amount of bleeding that I've had doesn't seem enough to have lost it and I still have preg symptoms. I had my bloods taken today and will have them done again on Thursday to confirm that they are dropping.

If I haven't lost the pregnancy by next Monday I will go for the scan as planned and then back to the GP the next day to discuss.

She said I could have my FSH levels checked once this is all over.

Keep on charting!

ljg72 · 21/06/2010 13:01

Thinking of you Hippychick66, keeping everything crossed for you X

chocciechip · 21/06/2010 13:22

Hippy so sorry to hear what you're going through. I totally understand why you're finding it easier to think of it as over, but the most certain indicator will be if your HSG levels are dropping, so I'm glad you're getting that done. I wish the results would surprise the hell out of you babe but am glad you're braced for the worst. We're always here if you need us.

I believe an FSH test can be used as an indicator of overain reserve, but I have been told that the more accurate test to have for this purpose is an Anti-Mullerian Hormone test (AMH). I don't think you can get an AMH test on the NHS, and you're looking at between £100-150 for a private test. Here's a bit of info on it. The thing about age (and I'm nearly 40 and TTC#1 so am very pre-occupied with this as well) is that your chances of MC do increase. I am not sure that low egg reserve necessarily means that your eggs are ALL rubbish though. But being older, there is no getting away from the fact that you are more prone to MCs, because some of your eggs might not be as great as a younger womans. A friend of mine had 3, maybe 4 MCs (including one set of twins), before she managed to have her DC2 at 40. An AMH test might give you enough info to decide to go for it, knowing you may have to endure more MCs before you strike gold.

I am going for an FSH, LH and E2 tests myself later this week, and will be booking an AMH test too. I want the tests, but I am utterly terrified by what the results might bring.

bunder Congratulations!

danilou fingers and toes crossed for you for this month.

AFM - I am now 13DPO and FF is telling me AF should come today but no cramps or typical body AF signs so far. For the first time ever I have resisted early testing. If I wasn't charting I'd be really hopeful, but I am so I know my temps have been dropping the last few days and I know that I have pinkish spotting in my CM (seen only when I check my cervix - none in my knickers). This is consistent with previous charts for AF to arrive. I was so fed-up last night I had a glass and a half of wine, and today my temps went up above the coverline again (0.2'C rise). I know alcohol can have an impact, but I barely had anything so am a bit flabbergasted by the impact. Of course said to my DH.... do you think... maybe... He just very gently said "You KNOW you are not PG, don't do this". I know I'm not... but now I just wish AF would arrive to put me out of my misery.

(BTW - this is justshaggy now posting under a new name: I name changed because I think someone might have outed me in RL).

spilttheteaagain · 21/06/2010 16:57

Hippy I'm so glad you have such a lovely doctor and that she's giving you all the medical support she can.

Thinking of you and really hoping that things might still work out. Take care my dear

Danilou22 · 21/06/2010 19:06

Thinking of you hippy xx

LittleSilver · 21/06/2010 19:48

Oh hippy

I am so sorry. That is awful. Big hug to you (and I don't give a damn how un-MNy that is). We're all here for you. x

Can any of you ladies shed any light on this for me?

As you know I have been worried that i am not ovulating due to suspected PCOS.

Although FF has now detected ovulation today my temp dropped back down under the coverline.

Has this happened to any of you?

Also how much difference can it make to your temping if you sleep with the window or closed?

Danilou22 · 21/06/2010 21:14

sorry long day ..... open or closed!
