Hi everyone,

OV calc says due date would be 31st Dec but didn't want to be on my own at the bottom of the Dec bus. Am on cycle 3 of proper trying as dp not been as willing to DTD knowing he HAS to impregnate me .
Hope someone hops on to keep me company soon

rosieposey · 14/04/2010 21:28

Mountthefairy i got my positive opk late this afternoon so DH is in luck tonight it is day 16 though so ov wont happen till day 17/18 only leaving me a 10 day luteal phase its at bottom end of nnormal though so im hoping if DH's little swimmers do their job that its enough time for a bean to be sticky.

My luteal phase has changed by a couple of days as i used to have shorter cycles and longer luteal phases a few years ago but getting older and having DS seems to have put paid to that. Im planning on testing 10/11dpo which would give me a testing date of Monday the 26th of April - i was going to wait till AF was overdue but i dont think ill be able to - We shall see anyway.

debka · 14/04/2010 21:34

Poor little egg!! V complicated....

emma2617 · 15/04/2010 07:59

morning ladies!! I'm so pleased to see the bus getting a bit busier....lots more 2WWers trying not to test!! I'm so excited for news of the 3 due to test on 19th!!

Apologies for not properly reading everyones posts, since moving house we still have no internet so my only source is at work' where I'm not until tomorrow! And my phone which takes so long to load its untrue! I will catch up tomorrow!

I am beginning to convince myself that I should be pg so incredibly tired, also, surely if I had sex when ovulating its a dead cert?! Why on earth would it not work?! Oh my brain seems to live in a perfect world!

On the upside, the way I'm feeling at the moment I don't feel the need to test tomorrow! Go me!!

Hope you all have a good day whatever you're doing!!

MountTheFairy · 15/04/2010 09:07

Oh, I forgot to add test dates, I'll do that next time, mummychicken.

Still no on my OPK . Well, unless I get a AND ovulate tomorrow then it's not looking good. Maybe I am thinkin too much about it. I have decided next month I am going to be all zen about it: no OPKs or anything, just chill. A GP did tell me once: relax and it will come. So no contraptions next month, just try and enjoy it!

In the meantime this month... I guess we'll just SWI every other day starting tonight and see if we catch some elusive egg...

On a COMPLETELY different topic, crumblequeen I looove rhubarb crumble but never quite mange to make it properly. Know any good recipes? Cheers!

Hi all, sorry not been around much; too busy SWIing! But now on the 2WW so will probably be around a bit more to compare symptons with everyone!

Have added all the stats together into one long list - feel free to add your HPT dates (what a good idea!)

Good luck everyone x

ImpatientHove · 15/04/2010 15:38

Hi All,

I'm liking the testing listings - can see who will be testing buddies with.

I think I am getting false positives on the OPKs (I posted a separate thread about this yesterday). The same thing happened today ie. got a positive this morning and a negative this afternoon. Very frustrating. I do hope I am not in for one of the 4 month cycles I have had in the past!

It is very quiet on here today - everybody busy SWI?? I managed to jump DH twice last night. How about you Rosie?

rosieposey · 15/04/2010 16:08

Hi Impatienthove not sure whats going on with those OPKs the only other thing i can think of is that you are having a 2 day surge but some of your urine samples are stronger than the others so giving you a positive and then a negative - if you are getting positives your not supposed to test again so just take it as a positive if i were you!

Have been SWI'ing every day since Sunday and given my postive OPK yesterday afternoon we did it in the morning and then yesterday evening and this morning just to make sure lol! I read an article yesterday that said a study had been carried out on couples trying to conceive and whilst every couple of days is more than sufficient there were slightly higher rates of conception with couples that made love every 24 hours. Im getting a bit tired and lacklustre now though lol so probably tomorrow morning and Saturday just to make sure then i think we will have a well deserved rest for a few days!

Mount when are you testing for OPK's? perhaps if you arent testing twice a day and you decide to use them again it might be worth a shot - if i hadnt tested twice yesterday i wouldnt have known i was surging. Dont worry though either way you will get pg in the end because the chances each cycle arent as high as people think - put it this way, if i get pg this cycle i will be very surprised having gotten lucky last cycle but it not working out statistically given my age, bmi ect im not due another lucky cycle for quite a while but hey, a girls gotta try right?

MountTheFairy · 15/04/2010 17:37

Twice last night Hove? You must be young! As for OPK's - no idea. Maybe just trust the morning ones. I do not think you can get a false positive (again, not a health professional, just my opinion). I know that the hormone it detects stays high while you ovulate so it could be that yesterday you were about to ovulate, and today you are actually ovulating. It is weird afternoons are negative, but are you holding it in for 4 hrs beforehands? What do you mean 4 month cycles!?

rosie thank you for the words of encouragement. I am only testing in the mornings with Clearblue Digital. I am inclined to trust it as it has worked so far for me and I also do not have any EWCM which is usually quite noticeable for me. No idea what is going on! But I may take your advice and just SWI every day for the next few days!

rosieposey · 15/04/2010 17:44

Mount I would if i were you (just in case) Last month i got a positive on CB in the morning but yesterday nothing (and surge was only 7 or so hours away) I didnt test again this morning tbh so i dont know if i would have got a positive anyway today but am inclined to think that i get quite short surges (less than 24 hours) so i always double check again with internet jobbies in the late afternoon and i was definately right to yesterday.

Lucky you for getting EWCM i havent had that really since i had DS so have been using preseed - hope thats doing to job instead. God this TTC malarky is hard work - it used to be soooo easy when i was younger!

lucybrad · 15/04/2010 18:49

well, didnt get any sleep at all last night ... not because of swi 'ing but because dog had to have emergency c section during the night. we now have 8 (was 9 booo poor pup) boxer puppies... its obviously easier for boxers to get pg than humans. On the bad side, this means a hefty vets bill, and not being able to breed from her again. But the pups are sooo cute!

rosieposey · 15/04/2010 20:48

Ahhh congratulations Lucybrad sorry about the little one that didnt make it but phew!thats a huge litter!

My Siamese had a litter of 5 and had them all by cs - it was expensive for a cat so god knows how much it will be for your doggie, still hopefully when you find homes for your pups in a few weeks that should help a bit financially Bless!

We got a puppy three weeks ago, hes a chorkie (half yorkie, half chihuahua), hes 11 weeks old tomorrow and really sweet bloody nightmare for toilet training though, still itll be another few weeks/months till he gets the hang of it if hes anything like our other chorkie who is nearly two.

Hope they are all doing great and thriving and that your mummy-dog is doing well.

mummychicken · 15/04/2010 21:53

rosie loving the sound of a chorkie

lucybrad sorry to hear about the wee one, but congrats on the 8! Love boxer puppies, they're just balls of hair with feet.

mount LOL at not using contraptions - what ever floats Mr mounts boat!

emma2617 · 16/04/2010 08:31

Morning!! I am back in the office with full internet access!

rosie I was toying with getting a chorkie....then we moved to an apartment and thought it wouldnt be fair! They are mega cute though!

I used OPKs when TTC DS and they were a nightmare, I never picked up a surge and was really upset as I thought I wasn't ovulating, but then I turned out to be pregnant....figure that one out!!!

I am beginning to torment myself now, tested AGAIN this morning knowing it would be a BFN, but did it anyway! I had a sharp cramping pain yesterday morning, i normally get a few of them spread out just before AF so if it happens again then I'm pretty sure it's AF on the way but if it doesn't then I am still in the game as at 9DPO it could have been implantation!! Ever hopeful! I have got 5 more days to wait before testing again (unless AF rears her ugly head!) I have no tests in the house now and no time to get to the shops before test day so the temptation is gone! It's going to be a long 5 days but I am NOT going to test!

I am also feeling very emotional but I am pretty much putting that down to a mixture of being seriously tired and the desperation to be pregnant!

mummychicken · 16/04/2010 08:47

mount one one of your earlier posts you said that the luteal phase stays the same - is this true even if your cycle length varies?

I'm asking because I had a on OPK this morning which means ov tomorrow. Last month I had a 14 day LP, therefore expecting 28 day cycle.

To cut long story short it means my test date is now 2 May.

Yipee - 4 days less on the 2ww

MountTheFairy · 16/04/2010 10:55

mummy no clue! That is what I heard, but was puzzled myself, as my body does not seem to do that. So from my experience it does vary, but maybe it is not meant to and my body is weird!

HongKongBaby · 16/04/2010 11:56

Hi all - still lurking around and wishing everyone best of luck.... hoping I may ov this weekend. Using OPKs and got slightly darker line this morning so maybe is on way up. Would be good timing if weekend as DH and I too too tired to manage SWI during week. We joke that natural selection is de-selecting us for being old and lacking stamina, but that's not far from the truth really!

Oh emma best of luck with not testing, early testing is so stressful IME, better to wait and get a BFP or save the money...

crumblequeen · 16/04/2010 12:28

Mount I dont really use recipies just throw everything in and hope for best so we have a few dud efforts but they get eaten anyway I generally stew the fruit in the oven for 15-30 mins first in a bit of water and sugar then drain off excess water, add crumble topping and put it back in the oven until its suitably brown - sorry its not more scientific!

DH is a rather anal accountant and can't understand why I can never tell him to the precise minute when our meals will be ready - "10 mins" or "when it looks ready" are my stock responses!!

Well on the baby front I STILL feel completely normal - I hope I am not in for a super long cycle after coming off pill - that would be very annoying!

emma2617 · 16/04/2010 12:35

Ugh....today is dragging sooooo much! I am so upset today, generally feeling like I could cry at any minute if someone sayd the wrong thing! Also not feeling quite right....just come back from my lunch break and just had diet coke as I'm not hungry, which is VERY unlike me! I can't decide if I feel sick, I do have a lot of salive generating in my mouth which is a ususal sign I'm going to be sick. Ugh, I just want to know now! I have even trawled the TTC threads from June 2008 to see exactly what happened with my BFP last time! I didn't get a definite BFP until CD 43 (was straight after implant removal though!) and CB digital wasn't until CD44! That is a long wait from now!!

MountTheFairy · 16/04/2010 12:58

mummy by contraptions I meant OPKs, thermomethers and the like! Ovulation contraptions, not toys!

Rosie, yes, now I understand why it is better to do it when you are young. Like HongKong I always hope for the weekend!

Crumble I guess I'll experiment too! I made an amazing one following Hugh Fearnley... which was apple and peacan. Then I tried rhubarb by Heston Blumenthal and it was horrid! I should really branch out and try my own things but I think I am a bit anal like your DH. Gotta have EXACT measures! I guess I should chill a bit.

On an ovulation front: still nothing! I guess it could be an anovulatory cycle which would majorly suck as I had that 2 months ago.
