Thought I'd set us up a new home! kettle's on and choc tin open.

This is a lucky start to our new thread: 2 BFPs and a fantastic fertilisation rate from Dueling!

Boobs and biscuits to everyone

Penguindreams, I agree with you about Hermione being a good role model - although it's a shame Emma Watson can't act to save her life. AND!! I threw up for the first time today - in the work loos, no less, could it BE more glamorous! And I blame you!

Gingerwine, one is all it takes, so with two, you're ahead of the game. Am sending loving, growing thoughts to those little guys, and hope that it all goes well tomorrow.

Penfolds, you're quite right - you couldn't wish for a nicer bunch than this lot. Hope you get good news in 8 more sleeps.

Italian, am waiting to hear your news too. Have a wonderful time at Spring Harvest.

GGG - 24 eggs! Wow!

MM, I love your violent tendencies. Nurture them! And congratulations on the move to Oz. A little bit of sunshine would be fab. Hoping that everything falls into place, time-wise.

Fiona, sorry to hear that your experience at the clinic hasn't been positive. I hope that all changes.

Idream, good on you for doing the injections yourself. I sliced my finger too - bled like anything, and hurt more than the needles! Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Cerubina, what's your news? How're you doing?

Dueling, you've got a couple more days - hang in there.

While it can't compare with this or the Fab 40+ threads, I've been enjoying the thread Hippy started for 40+ and pg, so am looking forward to seeing you all over there soon, even those of you who are spring chickens! Mojangles, it's nowhere as crowded as the November thread - come up and see me some time!

Italiangreyhound · 09/04/2010 01:48

Gingerwine Thinking of you, really hope it will all go well. Well done, it is such a tough road. Well done too for being happy to have the cake. I am sure the icing will follow at some point, let that point be soon!

Dueling Good luck with the boob job . I hope you are avoiding pineapple and Google, glad you re-joined us. We missed you, come on cycle buddy, we can do it! Is that you in the wedding dress on your profile page? You are bloomin? gorgeous! Why are you such a worrier!

Penguin I too had no idea what TSA was, thought it might be Too Much Aspartazine or Too Many Aristocrats?? Anyway, we don't want to drag you away if you are having fun. You know where we are when you need us. At the moment my daughter's role model is Ben Ten, his cousin (who I am sad to say I don?t even know her name) is very smart in the programme, and I too love Ben Ten, but why are the boys always the stars! No, don?t worry about answering that, I know why!

Cerubina Thanks for your kind words. The judges sit and make their decision on Sunday (just over a week away) and I will get back in the evening, so although I will do the test in the morning I will post at night. You'll get the info the same day. If it is negative I will probably not say much. Whatever happens your kind thoughts, sticky vibes and prayers will be appreciate.

gleegeekgleek Hi, Spring Harvest is a Christian event (for people of all different denominations) that takes place over Easter each year at various Butlins locations. It incorporates times of worship, teaching and fun, people stay in the Butlins accommodation and Spring Harvest put on activities for kids and adults, plus seminars, workshops etc. There are things for people exploring the Christian faith but much of it is stuff that would interest Christians, I have learnt to sign to a song there, been to Bible studies, workshops, all kinds of stuff. It is busy BUT I will be relaxed. I just hope our chalet is near the events. The main activities happen in a big top tent and this is piped to the TV in our room so one of us can babysit at night and still catch up with what is happening, or what regular TV, and the other can go to the big top. It is our first time going with DD and she is very excited as she has heard that Bob the Builder will be there. I hope he puts in an appearance! We also get scrummy cooked breakfast everyday! Watch out waistline!

choco thinking of you, try not to slice any bits off with those drugs and enjoy your rocket making. My healthy eating has gone out the window but I did manage to stop at one small bar of C*dbury - ggggrrr blast that Kraft - chocolate tonight! Get your friends to watch Beauty and the Geek and be inspired to take on your DH's geeky mate. I married a rather geeky science boffin and he is wonderful, practical and a stallion! or is that TMI! Anyway, tell our friends geeks are lovely too.

Don't remind me about Greek food, there is still some taramasalata and pitta bread in the kitchen!

Londonlottie Just had a look at your profile and LURVE the heart-shaped baby photo.

Moomaker and Mumatron welcome, sorry if I did not say that before!

Amberc How is your healthy eating regime going?

Kiwi big hugs to you, when do you get your scan?

Well, my boobs are bloomin' sore; yes I am turning into Dick van Dyke too - as someone on another thread said. This is either a fab sigh that our treatment has worked or a bad sign that my boobs are defunct!

We had quite a busy day at Legoland and I fell asleep on the way home (luckily I was not driving), DH put on some inspirational, lively church music and I just drifted off to sleep watching the sun set (once we finally exited Legoland car park).

This 2 ww is now officially doing my head in and it is only fear of what I would find out that is stopping me poas straight away!

gleegeekgleek · 09/04/2010 09:28

Italian - is it a bit like New Wine (some friends go to that)?

Ginger - good luck - hope all goes well.

Waiting for the embryologist's call to find out how the 22 [faint emoticon again] are doing...

Feeling like I might have mild OHSS though - swollen tum and I have put on a random 2lbs - just mild for now but I will keep a very close eye on it and if it gets any worse I'll call the clinic. It's a bit of a nightmare as I look really quite pregnant ironically so don't want to see anyone for fear they'll make comments.

gingerwine · 09/04/2010 11:26

Morning all.

I am officially on the 2WW and very happy(?) to be there even if it is torture and very nerve wracking!

I also have 2 embies on board much to our surprise. The one that hadn't done much is clearly as laidback as my DH and decided to take his time about developing. Anyway one is a 2 cell and one a 3 cell and they are both grade 1 so we couldn't have done much better at this point really.

Have listened to Zita (does anyone else suspect that Zita herself falls asleep at the end of each relaxation exercise? She certainly goes very quiet!). Now lying on the sofa and about to read a book. We have a weekend of very little planned (DS's are away) and then I will be taking it easy but doing normal stuff next week.

Hope your scan has gone ok Idream. Hope you hear from the embryologist soon GGG. Hang in there to everyone on the 2WW and hello to everyone else. Catch you later.

GW

sgibbo · 09/04/2010 11:32

Hi everyone

Wow so much has happened on here over the last couple of days.

GGG WOW how many eggs...it'll be hard to chose which to put back!

Dueling I'm glad to see you are being positive and haven't POAS early not long now sending sticky vibes - I unfortunately haven't been able to resist and did it yesterday, but as expected got BFN because it's far too early I still have another 5 sleeps before I can test.

Italian I'm not currently involved in a church at the moment I would like to but find that trying to fit everything in is very difficult. I work full time and am also in the process of completing a diploma in floristry which takes up my evenings and weekends. Spring Harvest is the best way to occupy your time whilst in your 2WW I find it hard because DH keeps telling me to rest and not do anything and it was lovely for a couple of days but now i'm getting slightly bored...there's only so much television I can watch

Idream hope the finger is not too sore, i let DH do my injections I found it easier then having to do it myself - I managed to bruise myself every time and looked like a pin cushion!

MM any room in your suitcase, a move to OZ sounds fantastic and I'm 100% jealous!!! I hope everything works out with your treatment and you manage to complete it before you have to leave

Over the last few days I've been in a kind of negative mood because I haven't had any real symptoms. I had sore boobs to begin with but they stopped after the first week. Today however I'm feeling 100% more positive because I think I may have had an implantation bleed yesterday!!!! I'm trying not to get too excited just in case but I've never had one before!

gleegeekgleek · 09/04/2010 11:50

Gingerwine - that's amazing news about that second one making grade 1. Welcome to your 2ww - hope your finger nails don't get chewed too far down and your knicker elastic doesn't take too much strain from all the checking everything is okay down there

Sgibbo - how exciting if that was the implantation bleed. Keep us posted on symptoms!

Had the call from the embryologist....we have 20 at grade 1- (well one is a straight grade 1 which she said is very rare but maybe she was just saying that?) and the others are grade 2+. All are at 3,4, or 5 cells (it's day two). Feeling very lucky so far.

Had a tiny bit of bleeding this morning when I went to the loo 'properly'[sorry if tmi] but at the front entrance. I'm assuming this was a bit of aftermath from EC and to do with the heparin I'm on (makes you a bit more prone to bleeding). If there's any more I will call the clinic though.

Idreaminchocolateprofiteroles · 09/04/2010 12:39

gingerwine - fantastic news about your 2 little embies getting on board! I cracked my first smile of today at your Zita comment - I think she might fall asleep!!

My scan this morning didn't go fantastically - and I know it's one day at a time with this kind of thing - but I'm still pretty disappointed. There has been hardly any growth of my follicles - nothing bigger than 5mm or 6mm, so the nurse couldn't tell the difference between the cysts (from my PCOS) and the follicles, so I don't even know how many follicles we are looking at yet. I'm back for a scan tomorrow morning and then again on Monday - either tomorrow or Monday they are going to reassess my dosage, depending on how I'm doing.

Will check back in later and do a proper post - really must do some work xxx

MercenaryMom · 09/04/2010 13:33

Hurrah for Gingerwine! While I'm hoping both of your embies will be wildly successful, I'm already fond of the laid back one. The world needs more people who take time to smell the roses and don't worry too much about immediate cell division, since they know they'll get there in the end!

Idreaminanythingaslongasitschocolate I'm sorry to hear that the scan didn't go so well. But as you say, its one day at a time. Sending you great big follicle vibes for your next scan.

My good news is that AF finally started yesterday so I booked myself in for my investigations, likety split. Had my blood tests (with a bruised and battered arm to prove it) and scan this morning. About to call the clinic to book my next consultation. Impatient? Me?

Hope everyone enjoys what looks like it will be a gorgeous weekend!

Cerubina · 09/04/2010 15:41

3G you sound like some kind of superstar egg grower. Have you thought about doing it professionally? You could make serious money you know! How amazing to have so many top notch embies growing away, I feel sure this is a very positive sign so you should be pleased. Hope you don't get any more bloated and uncomfortable.

Yay to Ginger and the two little passengers! I agree with MM that the little mañana embie sounds very lovable but it is important not to have favourites with our children isn't it! But really I'm so glad that it all worked out well so far - from a starting point that you were anxious about, you have got as many embies on board as you would ever have had, so that is brilliant. Good vibes for continued division and burrowing.

Sorry it was a bit of a downer today Idream and I can imagine you're disappointed. However it sounds as though they are being responsive and will adjust your dosage until it gets you where you need to be, and I'm sure you'll get there but it might take an extra day or two. Hope things look better tomorrow and on Monday, just keep on munching eggs (I don't think you'll have any Easter eggs left by now but even so I mean the shelled variety!), other proteiny things and also think good egg-growing thoughts. I am experimenting with positive mental imagery at the moment to try and counteract moments when I feel a bit deflated. Maybe try something like that?

Congrats on the puking Kiwi! A great sign I think, so long as you can avoid doing it when the Evil Boss is in the next cubicle. How are you doing on keeping it secret from her mind-reading powers?

sgibbo I will keep digits crossed that you have had an implantation there, it does sound promising. Try to resist the temptation to test, it is hard getting BFNs. Hope the official one will be different!

Dueling likewise, hope you are managing to ignore that there is anything coming up and staying nicely distracted, but we are all behind you for when you do test. Best of best of best of luck!

Italian let's hope those sore are all in a good cause. If you don't normally get them with AF then that is a plus! Keep that iron willpower up and keep that stick in its wrapper, Emerald and Laurel are still unpacking their bags and setting the place up how they like it so don't rush them .

And MM I'm pleased to hear that AF has finally shown her face. You sound a lot like me getting straight on the blower to book things in and line everything up, I would be just the same. I have to hold myself back from doing everything as soon as it comes up, I am just impatient and like things to be sorted out (a continual battle with my DH who is more like Ginger's DH and embie).

A quiet weekend in store for me - we are going for a glass of wine together after work, lunch with a friend tomorrow and a couple of quid on the Grand National (I badly need to win some money to help pay for rampantly out of control house renovation costs!) Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

gingerwine · 09/04/2010 21:11

Evening.

Idream Sorry it was a confusing and not so helpful scan. It is early days though and a lot can change in just a few days. I don't know what drugs or what dose you are on but they could at least up the dose to help things on their way. Just keep eating the protein and drinking water and most of all allowing yourself to relax. Do some things to distract you too. Go and watch a film with your DH or have a nice meal and curl up with your favourite DVD on or anything that will help you feel like normal for a while.

MercenaryMom Hooray for AF (What a strange thing to say!). I am an impatient soul like you and would be itching to get on with things. As you can imagine this sometimes causes issues with my laidback, horizontal DH who 'gets round to doing things eventually'!! It's lovely to think of my embies as having personality traits already. Perhaps the laidback one would be a good sleeper and a nice relaxed baby!! It certainly makes it all seem real.

Cerubina I hope your wine is nice. I would love just a tiny glass of chilled pinot grigio! Not that I have an alcohol problem you understand. In fact I haven't really missed my occasional glass but now the sun is coming out I have that summer evening glass of wine urge!! I will try not to have any favouritism for my embies! It's not so easy with my DS's when one deliberately winds the other one up!!

3G Great stuff. Do you get another call tomorrow? It's so exciting to think of them all busy dividing together.

Sgibbo Sounds positive for an implantation bleed. Fingers crossed for you. I will be bored of TV after the weekend so I'll know just what you mean. There isn't much on that's worth watching is there? I think I will send my DH out to rent some films. And on Monday I will be purchasing Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 to watch with my DS's. That will keep them still for a bit and stop them bouncing on me! Keep thinking positively.

Duelling How are you doing. Not long now. We're hear to listen however things go.

Italian Hope all is well with you. I imagine your DH will be doing the packing and certainly carrying heavy bags for you for Spring Harvest. Take it easy and enjoy yourselves. Hope Bob the Builder makes an appearance!

A big hello to everyone else. My Dh has just made some lovely salmon for tea so I will eat it whilst it's warm.

DuelingFanjo · 09/04/2010 21:13

Gingerwine - YAY for the 2 being grade 1! What fab news.

sgibbo - hope that you get a positive test in a few days, the bleeding does sound encouraging. I had very sore boobs in the first week which then went in the second but now seems to have come back.

Idream I am sure your eggs will grow grow grow. Remember when I was disappointed with mine and everyone told me to just give them time. I ended up with 6 so it was all good in the end.

gleegeekgleek hurrah for the fantastic fertilization and growth.

Have just bought 2 tests. Roll on tomorrow.

PenfoldsGlasses · 09/04/2010 23:07

DuelingFanjo

Thinking of you tomorrow.

Waves to everyone else...

Idreaminchocolateprofiteroles · 09/04/2010 23:13

Hi Girls,

Checking back in.

Thanks for everyone's encouraging words, I'll see how things go tomorrow. Gingerwine, I'm taking Gonal F and the dosage is 150 iu a day, which is generally the lowest dose prescribed as I have PCOS and therefore at risk of OHSS. Apparently the follicles could just go "whomph" at any time.

3G - get you and your battery farm style egg production! It's great that you have so many grade 1 embies to use - are you going to freeze any you have left over?

Cerubina - am very of your glass of wine. Isn't it ironic that IVF is a process that makes you need a large glass of cold pinot grigio, but it's something that you can't have when you're having IVF (mmmm - thinking of changing my name to Idreaminpinotgrigio, although that maybe sounds a bit seedy...). I also feel your pain re: expensive house renovations.

Italian - I'm going to miss you next week Yay for the sore . I hope your lovely sounding week away manages to stave off the madness.

MercenaryMom - you've got me sussed, anything as long as it's chocolate indeed!!! Good news re: AF - I know how you feel, I'm mega impatient!! I learnt last week that a watched gusset never soils....

Duelingfanjo I've got my fingers (but not legs - early morning scan) crossed for you for tomorrow morning. I'm so, so, SO hoping for a BFP for you xxxx

Sgibbo - really hope that was an implantation bleed for you - make sure you're taking it easy so those little guys can get really tucked in!

KiwiKat - Kudos on the workplace puking! I hope that you left a little splatter on the loo seat (not that I'm suggesting you wouldn't clean up after yourself - just a little splatter that you didn't notice) and that Evil Bitch Boss sat on it next time she went to the ladies. Childish? Moi? Yup!

Okay, enough of the silliness, I need to get to bed to help these little follies to grow.

Love, hugs and sticky chocolate boobs xxxxx

Italiangreyhound · 10/04/2010 02:46

Dueling everything crossed for you except my legs!

Waves, hugs and prayers....

gleegeekgleek It is exactly like New Wine except that it has been around for a few years more and you don't camp, you stay in Chalets (and it happens not in the summer but at Easter). Hope your tummy is OK. 20 at high grade, you really are supplying the west of England, no, only joking. Well done. I am confused about this 'at the front entrance' ! ! a toilet by the front entrance or your own front entrance! TEE HEE, where were could we write this stuff!

gingerwine Yes, I think Zita falls asleep.

WELL Done, great news, yay for two! Two , whoopi.

sgibbo I hope you find a church, and the time to be involved. I could watch telly all day but not very productive - so I know what you mean!

Chocobunny let?s hope it is not as you fear and it all comes right in next few days.

Cerabina Thanks for remembering Emerald and Laurel.

Sorry for short posts, I am kn*ckered!

Thank you everyone for your support and hopefully continuing support while I manaically google every symptom and twinge.

It's positive!

really had no idea. Have been awake since the birds started singing thinking that my bladder just wasn't ready to do the job. Am completely shocked as I had no symptoms really. I got a strong positive straight away and then had to read the instructions to be sure. Am probably going to get a digital one later just so I can see 'pregnant' on the screen.

After my miscarriage last year I know that this isn't definite but am hopeful that they chose me the best eggs and know that my body, though not as toned as it should be (I have wobbly bits), is pretty detoxed inside so I am giving it (them?) the best start.

Off to have a think and a squeal now.

Hope everyone is feeling ok. Sqibbo keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Idream hope the scan goes well.

Good luck to Italian, GingerWine and GGG and to anyone my brain has forgotten.

x

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Italiangreyhound · 10/04/2010 11:52

We are just watching Saturday morning TV. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - I actually like it!

gingerwine congratulations on your embies, hope they are going well

gleegeekgleek how is the two week wait going? Have they put two in?

Sgibbo are you OK playing the waiting game?

Chocobunny Are you feeling better?

Amberc how are you doing and how is your healthy eating regime going?

Cerabina, MercenaryMom, KiwiKat, Londonlottie, Moomaker, Horton, Mumatron, RosieBeagle and PenfoldsGlasses best wishes to all.

Did I miss anyone off?

How are you all doing?

Dueling I hope you are letting it sink in slowly! Yay!

I had the tiniest pink tinge to my loo roll (sorry too much information) and I am now hoping against hope that it was an implantation bleed, but I think I am pretty much guessing!

Boobs still sore (I keep typing books!) and now I'm scared to try my old brand of tea in case I like it again! AAAAGGHH, roll on Sunday!
