So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

Bloomin iPhone stopped working this afternoon-been lost without it until now..

RIght did a cheapie sainsbury's test when I got home....2 lines, 1 fainter than the other but definitely 2...showed it to DH who automatically misread the instructions & announced it was negative!!!(bloody typical-skipped several lines of the instructions leaflet-makes me wonder how we got here in the 1st place!). Still a bit unsure whether to believe it so will use digital test tomorrow morning..

Started crying, almost sobbing...god knows why?! Hope that isn't a taste of things to come...I'll be a bloody nightmare to live with!

If he asks what '1-2' means tomorrow, def gonna tell him it's no. of babies!

takethatlady · 11/06/2010 21:22

Grannyapple that's amazing news! Congratulations (despite having a dunce DH )! I think I might cry too, if/when I get a BFP - it's a pretty big moment! Wow, two BFPs on test day! [sprinkles babydust everywhere]

almostknockedupgirl · 11/06/2010 21:53

Whoohoo Grannyapple!! Congrats! And that is soooo funny about your DH. Typical indeed!

And takethatlady, I'm PMSL at your onion.

vallinnapod · 11/06/2010 22:15

BF congrats to the BFP Brigade!

The rest of us will raise a glass or 4 on your behalf!

Off to a wedding this weekend. Will have to make sure i don't drink so much that it still registers on my blood test on Monday

Happy JS-ing w/es to you all (incl. you BFP-ers, make the most of your last 'quiet' 9 months if you are on #1!) x

gormers · 12/06/2010 04:32

Ooohh!! Exciting BFPs!! Well done! I'll join you in sober celebrations, as on nights this weekend!

What a lucky test day! Maybe we should always try and test en masse.

Get nights out the way, nicely timed with period, and then don one of those super-shag capes me-thinks! Have a great weekend ladies!.x

Grannyapple · 12/06/2010 07:47

Well def pg-2-3 weeks apparently. Haven't slept a wink all night tho & still can't believe it-don't feel any different apart from some really small dull period like pains.

Oh well, now got all w/e to try to get our heads around it-DH well excited so trying to calm him down..

Wanna stay on this thread-enjoy this one & I can talk to u guys about stuff..

takethatlady · 12/06/2010 09:57

Grannyapple (or should I call you mummyapple now?) please stay! We need all you JS survivors to stay on here and keep the faith! Congrats again - are you telling your family straight away, or keeping it quiet?

BrassicaBabe · 12/06/2010 10:00

Heelloooo, back safely home. Knackered. I've just moved from the bed to the sofa to catch up with Sky+ and you guys.

Wow!! Congrats canoe and granny!!! I think 2 BFPs is wonderful news! I'm not surprised you are in shock granny

at the onion in the bathroom takethat I've nearly done the newspaper in the fridge, milk in the bin thing before.

Well as a newly married who's been away for the week and has returned menstruating (Howzat?! ) I had to "take one" for Team Wedded-bliss. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind doing that, but I'm not keen on doing that to the bitter end. TMI?!

Although DH and I have had a little chat where I explained the 28/29 day thing, ovulation around day 14 and possibly fertile day 12ish to day 15ish. Strangly it was all news to him! Not a stupid man by a long chalk, but clearly asleep during biology class!!

Hanging up shag-cape and spangly crotchelss shag-pants for a few days...

Fuzzywood · 12/06/2010 10:08

Congrats on the BFPs great news. All seems well here about 8 weeks now and feeling awful so assuming that's a good sign! Good luck fir this month to those donning the shag cape

takethatlady · 12/06/2010 10:17

brassica I am at your story ... what could that be??? Glad you're home and have some time to dry-clean the cape and pants. Sounds like you might need to! And yay fuzzywood, 8 weeks already? That's gone so fast! You must be looking forward to your first scan. Glad to hear you're feeling rubbish! (Well, you know what I mean )

takethatlady · 12/06/2010 10:21

OMG BB, just got it! I am an idiot.

BrassicaBabe · 12/06/2010 10:21

takethat I can't quite remember the Friends quote, but it's something about doing the thing that we rarely do rather than the thing we never do!

Wow that went quick fuzzy.

BrassicaBabe · 12/06/2010 10:22

ha, ha, cross posted. Yes, I thought I heard the penny drop all the day from my sofa x

BrassicaBabe · 12/06/2010 10:29

doh, sp "way" not "day"

Grannyapple · 12/06/2010 11:12

Hi ladies-thinking of keeping it quiet until about 8-10 wkd, if we can except for my best friend-she's got 3 incl a set of 5 month old twins so sure she'll be giving me plenty of advice. Plus she knows we've been trying.

This is gonna sound so basic but it's just hit me that we must have conceived exactly on CD14( whilst on hols )-another friend told me that's how she conceived her 2(she isn't shy about this stuff!). So that seem's to be way to go...

Good luck to everyone-I am sure next month this thread will be flooded with yet more BFP's!

almostknockedupgirl · 12/06/2010 11:56

BrassicaBabe I like your thinking ;)

Enjoy the wedding vallinna! Perhaps you and the other half could outshag the happy couple?

Hope your nights are OK gormers. Did I hear you say before that your worked in a hospital? So do I... Are you a medical profeshonal of some sort?

Grannyapple I can well believe that it would take ages to sink in. And your DH sounds so cute, with his busting with excitement.

Right, just flying through to say that my period came today! Shagtastic baby, yeah! Let the shagathon begin!

milanomum · 12/06/2010 15:17

to Grannyapple - that's brilliant!

BB psml at you doing your wifey duty!

takethat at the onion story. I found the remote in the washing machine recently, but it was just DD doing a bit of cleaning!

I am soldiering on but I'm a little bit relieved I'm almost at the end of the fertile week ... it's not easy keeping up the shagathon weeps at lost youth and the cape will soon be hung up here for a bit.

almostknockedup - you go girl!
gimmie an s, gimme an h, gimme an a, gimmie a g - what've you got? shag!
much shaking of pom poms

takethatlady · 13/06/2010 11:16

Still no period for me . Getting fed up now! I sort of assumed that because I got my first period off the pill in 32 days that I'd settle down now into a proper rhythm. 32 days later, and no sign, and no symptoms (I think I was just knackered the other day). Grrrr....

Gotcha, brassica ! And I applaud your wifely duties!

milano lol at the remote control in the washing machine. Your DH must have some funny cleaning habits! I've given up trying to work out what happened to the onion!

frakkit · 13/06/2010 12:13

Congrats to our BFPs!

Takethat it took me a while to get what brassica was up to as well...

Apparently it's very good for conception because your body stops producing antibodies towards your DH's, um, 'contribution'. [Wasn't asleep in biology apparently]

NewMrsCharles · 13/06/2010 17:10

Go almostknockedupgirl Getting closer to knockedupgirl!!

Had a great fun weekend as after a boys nightout with his bro (ttc 3yrs now) and hearing about his 6 times in a day shaggathon my DH cant wait to start trying and apparently we needed to start practicing now so wont leave me alone

I had a drink with Sis Inlaw at home at the same time and I wondered why she was dropping off on my sofa and now I know the truth!

So coil out n Wednesday and bring it on!!!

takethatlady · 13/06/2010 17:18

Ooh frakkit that is information I was not aware of ... well, it's a form of unexpected compensation I suppose! I'll think of that next time I'm in a position to, ahem, lower my immunity

cowboylover · 13/06/2010 17:52

Just to say I have changed my name x

BrassicaBabe · 14/06/2010 08:59

Still BFNs takethat? Poor you.

to frakkit's info tit-bit!

Still no shagging for me. Hopefully period on it's way out.

takethatlady · 14/06/2010 09:13

Yep, still BFNs. I can't really get annoyed about it though, considering how long other people are waiting for their period to come. 34 days isn't so bad - I guess my cycles will just be irregular for a while.

It's probably a good thing work-wise - technically I've been employed by my new employer since last September, but I've been on research leave somewhere else and I only properly start this September. I just got my teaching commitments for next year and if I was pregnant now I'd have the baby at end of Feb, so I wouldn't even get a full year's teaching under my belt before I was off again. End of March or end of April, however, would be perfect - could squeeze in all my teaching (teaching semesters end in March) and still get six months maternity leave on almost full pay before going back for the start of term the following October...

I'm guessing it's not going to work like that!!! But in my impractical dreams, that would be perfect!

I'll let you know if I get any change on the POAS front.

NewMrsCharles, woah! Six times in a day! The most we ever managed was four, and we were 17! I'm surprised she could walk, let alone hold a conversation !

takethatlady · 14/06/2010 09:35

Fuck. Faint but definitely present BFP. I was using 10 miu/ml tests and did another one last night - it was negative. This morning, still no sign at all of period, so I thought, what the hell, I'll do one of the other tests in my draw. It is 20 miu/ml so I thought there was no chance. But there's definitely a line there. It's a bit woolly and faint (not clearly defined) but I've walked around the house with it in all different lights and I am not imagining it.

Tried to ring DH but he's working (as I should be). Don't want to tell my mum or anyone real because I may be wrong ... off to work and picking up a First Response on the way. The only people I can tell are you ladies! But don't hold it against me if I've made some stupid error! (This has happened before ).

Oh my God. Just when I had talked myself into thinking it was better not to get a BFP now. Oh my God!

Oh my God.
