AmandaCooper · 21/06/2010 21:57

Hello ladies!

I'm back from my travels and horrified to find us on page 2! Page 2!!! We are properly slacking!

My friend's wedding was lovely, the Irish certainly know how to throw a good party, we had so much fun - too much really as we had to slope off to bed early doors both nights, while all the mums and aunts stayed up till 5am!

Good to hear from babylann and Bebe that TTC wasn't the massive marathon we are led to believe for you guys first time round. Not really with you on the twin thing though, I think I'll hope to be at least as fertile as you guys but not more so! Can you imagine???

DH is currently hugely anti, so .

AmandaCooper · 21/06/2010 22:07

Wow what were the chances of X posting then?!

bebejones · 22/06/2010 07:01

Nannyl - 7 weeks (yesterday) will be my DDs 2nd birthday! I am sure it will come around in no time at all! Very exciting stopping the pill...you'll be crossing off the days!

AC - sounds like you had a fab time! Twins would be a complete logistical nightmare for us. But would be a good way to get round the 'problem' of DH saying only one more baby...and me wanting 2 more!!!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 22/06/2010 07:44

You make a good point! Under no illusions of DH helping out though, so twins would probably equal a nervous breakdown! Then again my Dad's a twin and his mother went on to have four more!

bebejones · 22/06/2010 08:44

Oooh twins in the family!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 22/06/2010 09:01

Lol luckily it doesn't pass from father to daughter!

bebejones · 23/06/2010 11:30

Another friend is PG!!! Will everyone just stop getting up the duff?! 3 caledar moths 2moro til my last injection, so 6 calendar months 2moro til I can TTC!! Am going to be crossing the days off on my wall planner!

Gone v quiet on here again! Hope everyone is ok?

Hairy, how are your HCG levels? Hope you are alright?

OP posts:
bebejones · 23/06/2010 11:31

Calendar months, not caledar moths!

DewinDoeth · 23/06/2010 11:39

Hello! This thread might be for me. Can anyone link to Part I for me so that I can catch up?
I'm not currently TTC but might be, well, dunno - maybe soon, maybe not!

FancyALittle · 23/06/2010 12:02

DewinDoeth Looks like the ditherer's thread could be a place for you too!

bebejones · 23/06/2010 13:04

DewinDoeth - First thread here 40 pages of ramblings!

Does sound like the ditherers thread might suit you too! What's your situation? Are you able to TTC now, or should you wait? Or are you just unsure about TTC at all?! In any case, welcome!!

OP posts:
DewinDoeth · 23/06/2010 14:00

Yup, I'm definitely a ditherer!! Must find that thread too.
My current situation is that I'm not stopping at one, just unsure about the right time to TTC. I've gone into a bit of a flap about it recently because everyone who wasn't stopping on my post-natal thread is now pregnant! Except me.
So, I'm considering TTC in a couple of months, maybe, or maybe not , but not right now because if I did get pg at the first attempt (these things do happen, and happened to me before!) then it would be dreadful timing, if there is such a thing as the wrong time.

AmandaCooper · 23/06/2010 17:58

Bebe tell me about it. I am now the only married junior fee earner, out of quite a few, who's not either pregnant or already a mum/dad. Just found out on Monday that my friend in our property team is expecting. I'm still waiting either till Christmas (my preference) or for "ten years" (DH's preference - yes really, he now wants us to wait until I'm at least 43).

DewinDoeth good to have you with us. Hopefully you will dither along with the ditherers and wait with us. I have been known to flit between the two threads myself, whilst sneaking reading studiously avoiding all the neurosis inducing threads about fertility problems that scare me (but clearly not super-optimistic DH).

Good to hear from someone else who didn't particularly struggle to conceive DC1 as well.

AmandaCooper · 23/06/2010 18:05

Good luck digesting all 40 pages of the first thread btw DewinDoeth. I found a nice bottle of red helped me get through it, the downside to that approach being that I didn't actually retain any information and ended up non-the-wiser and having to say "sorry but would you mind telling me again x, y and z"!

Nobody minded of course!

AmandaCooper · 23/06/2010 22:42

Hey Bebe the April bus is boarding I see - just four more buses and then ours!!

bebejones · 24/06/2010 07:29

Is it 4 more? I thought it was 5 more? Either way it is getting closer! End of June next week, definately starting to feel like the downward slope now!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 24/06/2010 07:33

After this one: May, June, July, August - and then ours! And only 183 days till Christmas!!

AmandaCooper · 24/06/2010 07:34
bebejones · 24/06/2010 07:43

I was couting the 4th as ours! I understand now!! Not awake yet!

183 days til Christmas, blimey I'd best get my list sorted!

AmandaCooper · 24/06/2010 08:53

Just had a thought - isn't the April bus Pipoca's? Pipoca your bus is here!!! Get your best knickers on, girl!

PipocaThePedantic · 24/06/2010 13:45

Hello ladies!

Dewin you sound more of a ditherer to me perhaps. Although I dithered for a bit before ttc DS and dithered a bit before deciding to (wait to) ttc #2. All I can say is, it's the hardest thing you'll ever do (having kids) but easily the best and most rewarding.

I'm on holiday at the mo, still in Spain but on the coast. I am sunburnt as usual, but only a little. The sea is lovely, went for a swim today. Being freelance, I'm sort of working. Have the laptop with me and have done a small job while DS naps and once he's been in bed.

Yes indeed....Any time from now pretty much fits with my ttc plans, so I'll be on the April bus. Going to try to relax and just NPP and go with the flow. not sure that'll work, as thanks to waiting to ttc and reading far too much about conception, I am about as aware of when ovulation might be as it is possible to be without actually temping and charting etc.

I am, for instance aware that I will probably ovulate this week .

So, as Amanda says....it's time to get my best knickers on...or should that be off

Not long to go ladies.....will pop back in and see how you're all doing.

xx

AmandaCooper · 28/06/2010 13:41

Pipoca I am really excited for you. I hope you get a BFP before too long and that you will drop in here to let us all know. Skimming back through the thread, I recall that you are not the only one who was waiting for summer to TTC, so good luck to any lurkers who may also be boarding the next bus.

Those of us who are left waiting at the terminal, well I think most of us are on the final approach now. Less than six months to go and I don't know about you guys, but unexpectedly I don't have any overwhelming urge to dash off round the globe ticking off wild adventures in what hopefully will be my last carefree months. I seem to have a very peaceful state of mind at the moment, focusing on how a child will fit into our lives and trying to learn as much as I can about that process. I think that is how it should be.

I went with my Brownie pack to the local summer gala on Saturday, and all the young families were out in the sunshine, meeting up with their friends and having a great time. It really made me want to be part of a little family with DH.

bebejones · 28/06/2010 17:24

Pipoca - fingers crossed for you! Make sure you pop back and let us know how things are going!

AC - I know what you mean, I feel really ready & relaxed about it too!

Having a bit of an MS flare up at the moment, I'm hoping it's just down to the heatwave & that it comes to nothing! I do not want a relapse as 1. It sucks!!! & 2. It might put DH off TTC! Before I came away to my mums we had a big D&M about #2 & he is definately feeling more ready for it emotionally now. Just hoping that our finacial state improves as promised! But just knowing that he feels he is ready for another baby is a BIG step!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 29/06/2010 07:43

Sorry to be thick but what is a D & M?
