Lady a stone isn't much but it's taken a year to lose the stone I have lost!!!

I must work harder...

popsy1 · 30/05/2010 21:06

Lady we definately live in the same town How bizarre! My curiosity is getting the better of me, i wonder if we live really close to each other? Where do you work? Really hope we get our healthy babies very soon and get to meet up. How lovely would that be

fairy i was recommended slimming world by my doctor for pcos suffers but i put weight on with that diet. I was very sceptical about loosing weight with ww but it has worked for me. I have a couple less points each day than i should, i've lost a stone so far although i've hit a sticking point. Dont give up hun, here to give you encourage you all the way!!

xx

Fairygodmother1 · 30/05/2010 21:36

I've got PCOS for Dummies which has lots of recipes so I'm trying that for now. Almost like a home made version of weight watchers!!!

fairy have you tried the Cambridge diet it was a miracle worker for me after a year on ww I lost a stone a so I tried the Cambridge diet and lost a stone in the first week then 3lbs every week until I lost 4 stone it?s a meal replacement diet and isn?t easy but well worth it I?m back at ww now to get the last stone off and it seems to be working this time think my body just needed a jump start.

Fairygodmother1 · 31/05/2010 15:13

I've heard someone with PCOS mention it on facebook. How do you find out about it?

OP posts:
Ladybird10 · 31/05/2010 16:14

Fairy will you join a gym to help loose the stone. I lost half a stone when i used to go to the gym. It is hard to loose weight but at least the summer months are here so you can have lots of salads etc

Popsy it is a bit bizarre, it's a small world my postcode area is 21 iyswim. Don't really want to say where i work but i do work in the town we live in ;) It's quite a big company.
Has af arrived yet? I felt a bit crampy last night but af still not here. I actually don't want it to come till the weekend now as it works out better for iui.

mummyjo well done for loosing all that weight, sounds like a good diet.

Hope everyone had a good bank holiday weekend

xx

Fairygodmother1 · 31/05/2010 16:49

We haven't really got a 'gym' thats close. We have a leisure centre in the next town near work but I wouldn't get there till about 6 then it's getting home after as I don't drive. I'm gonna stick with the wii as it does help. I'm planning lots of salads. weighed myself today & already 3lb down!!!

OP posts:
popsy1 · 31/05/2010 18:44

lady my postcode is also 21, we really could be neighbours Completely understand about not wanting to say where you work. Its nice to stay annoymous ;) AF not arrived yet but sure its just around the corner, i'm on cd32. What cd are you on?

Well done fairy 3lbs is amazing are you still walking? My walking has gone down the pan atm, just dont have time! Rubbish excuse i know.
I've never tried the cambridge diet mummyjo at ww atm. Although struggling a little as didnt loose any last week also feeling like i am missing out on social things like lunch and BBQs etc. Again stupid i know

Fairygodmother1 · 31/05/2010 20:54

The walking will be on the back burner this week as its 1/2 term to no reason to walk. The wii will replace it this week.

I'vce given up on CD this month & will be back on it when I get proper af this month!

Fairy well done on loosing 3lb already, i'm sure if you stick with the wii fit and continue with your walking when yout at work then the weight should come off.

Popsy i'm curious about where you live my neighbours are older with grown up children so your not my neighbour but could still live on my road lol. I doubt it though, that would just be to strange.
I'm on cd 30, will probably come on tomorrow.

Fairygodmother1 · 01/06/2010 20:11

An hour on wii today. Gonna wait & weigh on Saturday!

Well done fairy I wish I had a wii. I went to weight watchers and lost 11/2lbs so that's 16lbs so far. I want to get to 2st. Wore a pair of three quarter trousers even though it was cold just because I could fit into them

Fairygodmother1 · 02/06/2010 09:33

Lol pops. Another hour on the wii & a smoothie. Gonna pop into town in a bit! Weather looks better today. My goal is 13st 3 & at the mo I'm 14st 4!
Which is way lighter than when I first started seeing my consultant but no different in the last 6 months!!!!

OP posts:
popsy1 · 02/06/2010 12:06

AF arrived this morning although i was expecting it, i also hoped sooooo much that we would get pg straight away. Too much to ask i suppose! You know the ritual, say you are expecting AF but secretly pray to god that you are pregnant.
Feel really down about it. Spent most of morning feeling very sorry for myself

Sorry or the miserable post ladies. At least i can 'enjoy' a drink tonight as off to watch sex in the city with the girlies.

Fairy we can be weight loss buddies

Fairygodmother1 · 02/06/2010 14:10

Pops that would be great. When we were cycle buddies you got pg! Maybe we need to syncronise again!!! lol.

xx

OP posts:
popsy1 · 02/06/2010 14:21

Hopefully things will be successful forbid both this time around

popsy1 · 02/06/2010 16:11

That was meant to say for us both!

Ladybird10 · 02/06/2010 19:30

AF arrived for me last night too , but i will count today as CD1 as the clinic said that day one is the first day of full bleed. So looks like we're cycle buddies Pops, sorry you got yours too. So crap isn't it, i also knew i wasn't pg but i always secretly hope that i am.
I'm with you on feeling miserable, i was crying last night and felt so sorry for myself so just had a bath and didn't bother making dinner like i said i would, just left it up to dp.
So i thought i would be starting iui this month, went to get my prescription after work (didnt have to pay which was good as usually pay for my prescriptions) and then called the clinic to say i could start iui this month and they told me that i can't as the lab will be closed when dp would need to go in to give his sample etc so this is the 3rd month of not being able to do it, i'm so pissed off, sorry to swear. Was really looking forward to starting iui

Sorry for moaning

xx

beckylou85 · 02/06/2010 22:02

Hi everyone, its been a while. Hope ur all ok.
lady whats the procedure with IUI? I know how they do it, i just mean with the medication and the scanning. When and what do they do etc.. I'm just waiting for clinic to get in touch regarding my referral.
So how is everyone? fairy well done with the fitness, I could do with a kick up the backside to get some exercise. My BMI is 29 n I heard it has to be no more than that for IUI.
Good luck to all ttc xxx

CareBear1 · 03/06/2010 10:28

Hi all

Fairy, I know a few people who've done Lighter Life and lost several stone within 3 months - its again a meal replacement plan so you don't eat any normal food at all just totally LL stuff to begin with and then towards the end of the 3 months reintroduce healthy food gradually. sounds scary but instant results if that's what you're after. good luck with whatever you decide to do! I struggle with weight too and have to stick to all the usual boring things otherwise my weight instantly goes up. had a bad coupleof weeks on the chocolate cakes and my clothes are getting tight!

Pops and Lady, how weird you live in the same town. You could've passed each other on the street hundreds of times and never known it.

I'm still on waiting list for laparoscopy, could be sept now they say. tempted to go private and stick it on a credit card. Lady and Beckylou, I feel your pain, all this waiting is so annoying!

popsy1 · 03/06/2010 11:38

lady you have every right to feel pissed off, that must be hard for you both as you were psyched up for iui.
I remember when i went to CRM they had dates when the clinic was closed. I also had a crying day yesterday just felt so fed up about AF and everything else thats happened
Anyway first day of clomid today so need to sort myself out and bloody cheer up!! Plus i have a cycle buddy (Lady) and a weight loss buddy in fairy. Lets hope we all bring each other some super super good luck!

It is bizarre that Lady and i live in the same town Carebear. What a small world. Have they given you a reason for the long wait for a laparoscopy?

Well the sun is shining and im going to sit in the garden and write my reports
Enjoy the sunshine ladies

xx

Fairygodmother1 · 03/06/2010 21:29

Just to cheer you up a little bit, got proper AF today so we're now only a day out from each other!

Lady it feels like the clinics are really putting obstacles in fron tof us! I emailed my Cons yesterday as getting no answer on the phone but no reply yet!

The sunshine was glorious! Topped up the tan!

OP posts:
popsy1 · 03/06/2010 22:27

We really are cycle buddies Hope we are all lucky this time

I now have tan lines where i sat writing reports. The sun is here for a few days as well

Ladybird10 · 03/06/2010 22:49

Becky i will be doing a medicated iui cycle with injections which apparently has a much better success rate, when i next have af i will start taking clomid from day 2-6 and on day 5 go for a scan and the nurse will check the follicles and also give me my first injection and show me how to do it, because then i will have to do it myself on about day 9 and then on day 10 i will have another scan to check the follicles are growing and the nurse will tell me when to take my last injection which i think is a day before the egg(s) will pop and then on about day 14 my dp will go to the clinic in the morning to do his bit and they will wash his swimmers and pick out the best ones and then i will go in a few hours later and they will inseminate me. Hope that makes sense, so basically i will just take clomid and have 3 injections

Care it is wierd that popsy and i live in the same town, we could of walked past each other and not even known it lol
September is quite a long wait, wonder why it's that long, if you can afford to put it on a credit card then do it, but then september will be here before you know it.

Popsy it was annoying to be told we couldn't start iui, dp was fine about it, he's just really chilled out about the whole thing because he thinks we will have a baby anyway, i'm just fed up of waiting for it to happen as its been nearly 2 years ttc.
We can have a good cry togther lol.

Fairy i think the clinics enjoy putting obstacles in front of us. One day we will look back at this when we have our gorgeous babies, it will be nice to go back to having normal cycles where we don't count cycle days and symptom spot etc.

xx

beckylou85 · 04/06/2010 00:21

Thanks lady, always wondered how it all worked, think I'll be having the medicated cycle too because I don't ovulate without Clomid.
Hi to everyone else.
Good luck to all ttc xxx
