Not much going on with me although I think I may have ovulated- FINALLY! Let me tell you my reasoning and you can tell me your thoughts...
So, I was out on Saturday night and didn't go to bed until 3am. Woke up at 7 because the duvet was touching my nippples and it was killing me. Felt my nipples and they were hard, really red and so sore. Not the boobs, just the nipples.
Then it dawned on me... this happened to me last month!
I remember, as it was my first month of the pill, having these excruciatingly painful nipples and thinking 'oh good, this must be a pms symptom' but my period did not come for guess how long? Yep- two weeks! ( I remember I was out at a friends birthday when I first noticed the sore nipples so remembered the exact date and counted on to when my period started) I really vividly remember this from last month as it hurt so much and I wondered if it was PMS or even if I could be pregnant but I was not as well versed in all things conception then as I am now and did not make the link between sore nipples and ovulation- I just put it down to hormones starting to work again after pill until the very same thing has happened this month. Last month they were sore and hard and red for about a week and then went back to normal and they have been hurting this month from early sun am and still v, sore now.
I have not spotted any EWCM (but there is more general wet stuff) but my research tells me that the pill can dry all of this up and that it may take months to return. I know it is massively late to Ov but my research also tells me that as well as the pill messing up your cycle; time zone shifts, illness, antibiotics and stress can delay ovulation so I guess that kind of figures seeing as I have shifted time zones, been ill, had antibiotics and been stressing about when I would get my period!
The links between having sore nipples and WHEN you ovulate are unclear though. It is a known side effect of ovulation but some people say it is immediately after, some say a few days after and some say it is immediately before. Does anyone have any info on this? I have been trying to cover all bases though
So, we'll see. If indeed this has happened my period should now be due around 19th Feb and although I would ideally like to be pregnant, I will also be happy if my period arrives around this time as it will mean that my body is working (to a degree) and will hope for a 'normal' cycle the next month as I will hopefully have none of the delaying factors that could have influenced this month.
Sorry for this long rambling insight into my potential ovulation but I had to unload it as am trying to 'play it cool' to DH so he doesn't realise just how crazy I have become with all of this TTC lark.
