Let's hope this one brings us all lots of luck!

Gina - Sorry to hear AF got you and to top it off your machine broke. Why don't you buy some cheapy OPK sticks from ebay to help with this cycle. I know they're no way as good as the CBFM but they'll pin point OV for you. It sill could be your month!

Nanny01 · 27/01/2010 10:45

gina84uk
I know it sounds silly but have you checked the batteries and there is info on the net about common problems. Did it just not switch on or did it freeze or something else.It may be worth checking just in case it is an easy fix.

gina84uk · 27/01/2010 12:30

hi vikks i have a whole load off opk sticks but i can't read them very good
but if last monthwas my body getting back to normal after 3 depo injection's then maybe i will be able to tell better with them (by the way iam thinking out loud lol)
vikks thank you i will give them ago and see

nanny i ckecked the batteries but it was not silly to say cause after i read your post i went and checked lol
i switched it on yesterday morning and went to reset back to day 1 and it came up with weird sign's it is showing [!,then it look's like a simcard, then a phone] i read the instruction book and it say's to replace the monitor but iam going to phone the care line as it has a phone symbol on it and see what they say xxxx
p.s i can still stay on this form untill i get a new one?

Vikks · 27/01/2010 12:34

Gina of course you can! Don't go anywhere x

JustShaggy · 27/01/2010 13:36

Hi ladies. I'm back. Turns out my recent mc was a possible ectopic - they couldn't rule it in or out so the routine treatment had to be followed just in case. Endless tests followed with weeks of uncertainty and fear. It was a horrible experience and I feel even more scared about being pg now than I did before. Still struggling, but too old to take time out to recover. Was also told this time around that I have mega fibroids. Seeing an acupuncturist today and specialist tomorrow. In meanwhile, AF has finally come back ... so here goes ... sigh... :

Monkey's - my thoughts are with you. x.

Vikks - good luck babe.

barrenbrook · 27/01/2010 15:08

JustShaggy Hey sweetie, sorry to hear AF got you and that you've had yet more crappy news, life SUCKS sometimes huh?! It's good for you to be able to start all over again though, hope all goes well with the specialist and that the acupuncture helps. I dunno if my reflexology has helped at all but I'm still going as it's proper relaxing!

Vikks any news, symptoms?

~Shaggy - So sorry to hear your news. Hope seeing a specialist is helpful for you.

Vikks and barrenbrook - all the best in your 2 ww!

Am waiting for a high - sounds awful but sort of dreading it! Was reading up about "softcups" - sound complicated to use, but I must be desperate to even consider them. Anyone else heard of them or considered them?

Vikks · 27/01/2010 21:08

Keziah I've tried the 'softcups' but they didn't help me, I'm still searching for my BFP. Try them, they are easier to use than it sounds and it's an experience!

HopingLovedTheSnow · 27/01/2010 21:38

Hello everyone!

justshaggy so for you, I hope things are looking up for you this month, what a horrible time of it you've had...

gina Hope you manage to get a replacement soon - I've just purchased some more test sticks from Amazon and checked the price for you - is only £54 now...seems to be dropping all the time

vikks Woo! Will be sprinkling much babydust your way!

Monkeys What a horrible time you've had too - thinking of you...

barrenbrook Good to hear that the acupuncture is relaxing, here's hoping it works for you!

Keziah I've seen those softcups, I don't think they are actually proven, but I am sure they can't do any harm...please do report back if you do use them, I'd be interested to know how you get on!

Well, after a bit of drama with DH's job, we decided to hold off on the TTC for this month until we are sure that he will actually still have a job! Fortunately things are looking good, so we should be ready to try again from next month. I am ov'ing at the moment and am quite pleased that he is away on business as I might have been a bit resentful that a good egg is 'going to waste' so to speak.

I'm finding it so interesting knowing what my body is doing; today and yesterday (peak das) I've been feeling somewhat more 'ahem' frisky than usual - when the postman brought up a parcel for me to sign for this morning I was really aware of how nice he smelled - very worrying as a) he's not in the least bit attractive and b) I'm a married woman! Still, I guess my eggs aren't fussy, eh?

We should hopefully be going on HM mid feb-ish now which happily should coincide with next month's peak days - Woo! Not at all sure how I'm going to manage the testing window with the time difference, but will probably just have to resort to peeing in a cup - sexy! I've seriously battered my credit card in Agent Provocateur today, so hopefully that should do the trick

As we're not technically trying this month, can I please 'sit this one out' and be re-added next month?

Good luck and babydust to all!

Keziahhopes · 27/01/2010 22:13

Vikks - glad it not just me that thinks has to try everything! Glad you said they were ok, as they look "tricky" to you. Don't know if dare tell DH yet about them! The pre-seed was one thing, but he may think I am getting obsessed now ... don't even like him to think am "resting on a pillow" after bd . Hope symptoms positive foryou!

HopingLovedtheSnow - will let you know next month how I get on, as will not get them in time for this month as just got a high today (I test in am and find result out when home from work, so don't obsess ).Shopping and HM sounds fantastic!

I got my data wrong, so posting again:

HopingLovedTheSnow · 27/01/2010 22:42

Keziah I know exactly what you mean...I'm even trying to be discrete about the CBFM - if I ever go near the softcups, it will be a matter between me and my cervix only!

salander · 28/01/2010 08:17

OK, what the hell are 'soft cups'???! Do please explain.
Currently day 25, think OVd on day 21 so in the joy of the 2WW again. Hey ho.

Keziahhopes · 28/01/2010 21:36

softcups are like a disposable version of the mooncup (plastic, washable device insered to catch blood - no not used), that is inserted after bd to "hold" the semen inside and they are designed to be nearer the cervix that a mooncup.

Well so the info I read said! Though how on earth you insert and extract I do not know - instructions were as clear as to how to build flat pack furniture for me (can't do that either ).

Keziahhopes · 28/01/2010 21:47

Ok - looked at getting some. Made by Instead@

  • roughly £5 for box of 6 (not reusable - but can also be used for AF if desired, for up to 12hrs it says) - or £16 for 24, plus postage. I am going to try it! Already using CBFM, preseed (I like that) and pregnacare tablets for him and her!! Why not add to the mix; guess if I had a baby, it would cost more .
salander · 29/01/2010 08:44

Lol kezia, i like it!

Also using the CBFM, preseed and his and hers pregnacare! Was thinking i had all bases covered but clearly not.

HopingLovedTheSnow · 29/01/2010 19:18

Honestly, the things we do!

I'm sure DH would run screaming from the bedroom if I came near him with one - oh well, every little helps, eh? (and that which he does not know, cannot hurt him )

HopingLovedTheSnow · 29/01/2010 21:00

Ok, I cracked and placed an order...a 6 pack of softcups are winging their way to me as we speak - watch this space

Vikks · 29/01/2010 21:26

Ha ha you lot! You've got to try everything and they are definitely an experience. I've heard a lot of women say they were the key to getting PG.....you've just got to get them in!!! I can't wait to see what you think!

8DPO for me and it's nail biting time!

Keziahhopes · 29/01/2010 21:29

Oh dear what have I started! Hoping - you made me smile saying "I cracked!" Vikks you do know we expect instructions from you, the expert, in how to get them in!!grin] And I do not plan on telling DH about the softcups!

I got a peak today, after 2 high's - after a disatrous December I am so thrilled. Gosh Vikks, that is nail biting time!

Vikks · 29/01/2010 21:43

Squeeze it together and push back not up!!! That's all I've got for you!!

PS. They are bigger than you think!

Vikks · 29/01/2010 21:44

And.....If you can't get it out, then it was in right!!!

HopingLovedTheSnow · 29/01/2010 22:46

Yikes! I have a horrible feeling this will result in a humiliating trip to A&E!

Although, I'm pleased I read that post Wine 'o' Clock - don't think I could have coped with it over my cornflakes...

monkeybumsmum · 30/01/2010 15:21

Hi Ladies,

Was just having a quick peek to see how you are all getting on when I spied the softcup discussion After Vikks's recommendation I got them and used them - what fun They were really easy actually, but freaked dh out a bit! The only thing I worried about was whether I'd pushed it back enough when putting it in - was terrified that all the swimmers were stuck the wrong side!
Only did it once, but anything's worth a try isn't it.

Vikks I have my fingers crossed that you'll be joining me with a BFP soon. When will you test?

Thanks also for all your lovely messages, I really do appreciate them.

Good luck all of you, and will pop back soon!

Vikks · 31/01/2010 11:33

Monkey - It's good to hear from you. x
I really hope I'm joining you and the BFP club soon . I'm 10DPO now but I'm not having any symptoms anymore . On the up side my temps are through the roof at the moment, so I'm just praying that they stay there. That's usually how I know AF is on her way, temps fall a few day before.

Helloooo to all the Softcups!
