Thank you!
hey not sure if this has been covered in the past but if you need to pee in the night do you save it and use that for testing?
I've read other tests require the first pee from 4 hours before waking up.... but cant find anything specific to CBFM.

BabyHoping · 12/04/2010 12:50

Hi Anna,
You have a window to test of 6 hours and urine has to be from that window of time. If I get up at 2am and I go pee at night, I don´t care because I know in the morning when I wake up I´ll go again. If I normally test at 9 am (window to test between 6am and 12), but one of the days I wake up at 5h30am and I feel like peeing, I would just hold it 30 min and make the test at 6am, when the window starts.

Nanny01 · 12/04/2010 16:15

feeling sad as I have just packed up the pushchair, my ds has now not used it for 3 weeks. Hoping that it won't be in the loft for to long. I have only had a year out of the last 10 without one. It feels so wierd to not have such a little one. This will be my longest gap between children.

Lychees · 12/04/2010 17:50

Boba, we can't really afford to go private for treatment but we could probably push our finances just for the tests. My first stop will be the GP. Would be good to know what yours says to you.

Welcome Anna. Nanny01, I'm feeling down today, too. My DS is getting more independent and I'm feeling broody. I come from a big extended family and I'm really close to my cousins so it feels like I have 11 siblings not just two and I want that for my boy. I was planning on three but number two is proving elusive. And I don't feel pregnant at all but I ov'd on CD16 or 17 so I thought I should be getting symptoms starting about now if I was .

Good luck all! Lots of babydust to everybody!

Willow1218 · 12/04/2010 18:59

Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind me joining. I am from a same sex marriage and we plan on doing donor insemination. I've just started using the Clear Blue fertility monitor to try and pinpoint the best day to go to the clinic. I'm on day 16 of a 30 day cycle and still have a low reading every day . I've also just been using normal ovulation sticks but they've all been positive for the last few days so I'm not sure what's going on. Hope you're all ok!!

Lychees · 12/04/2010 19:20

Sorry forgot to answer your question, Anna. I rarely pee in the night but like BabyHoping, I don't worry about it too much if its the early hours of the morning as I know I'll need to go again when I get up. I normally test at 7.30am so my window for testing it 4.30am to 10.30am so I have been known to test at 5am before.

Hi Willow, I've never used the normal ovulation sticks so I'm not sure how sensitive they are compared to a CBFM. If it's your first cycle of using the CBFM, then it's probably getting to know your cycle. This cycle, I didn't get any highs, just went from lows to peaks, then had one high before it went back to lows so perhaps you'll be getting a peak tomorrow without highs(?).

annab1 · 12/04/2010 19:21

Lychees hope im not jumping in on an old conversation but....my GP didnt hesitate when i went to her to send me for the hormone tests to check if im ovulating ok.
If its the same test your wanting then you go for blood tests on CD2 and 21.
I had the first test on Fri so no results yet.
It seemed that this first test is really straight forward and not a problem to request on NHS, not sure what happens next though if results not good, but at least it made me feel like i was doing something that might help.

-this TTC thing can be really depressing, if i hadnt miscarried the baby would be about 3 weeks old now.
3 people in my old Nct group have just had or are about to have their 2nd babies- (i am truly happy for them, just wish it was me too)

2nd that good luck to everybody!

Willow1218 · 12/04/2010 19:21

Hi Lychees, thanks for your reply.
I hope it will do something tomorrow, it was still low this morning but the normal stick was positive again so we'll see!

Lychees · 12/04/2010 21:32

Anna, you're right, as is Boba, I should give the NHS a chance before spending any of my hard-earned money to go private. I shouldn't really assume they will give a bad service on past experience. Also I have, after all, made paid a lot of NI and tax over the years.

If AF arrives [notice I say "if" and not "when" - that's me trying to be positive ] then I'll see what my GP says.

Fingers crossed for a peak for you tomorrow, Willow.

Welcome willow if you add your missing details I will update for you.

Angelgirl79 · 13/04/2010 10:13

Hi boba - Any news for you - got my fingers crossed for you xx

boba82 · 13/04/2010 11:01

Thanks Angel. Still no sign of AF, am cramping and really bloated though so she's defo on her way. Have GP apptmt tomo to get ball rolling on tests etc so will POAS tomo morning if no sign just to double check but am not at all confident this month. Not down though, am feeling positive about seeing GP.

How are you feeling?

Angelgirl79 · 13/04/2010 11:12

Hi Boba - feeling fine, just very nervous and anxious and wishing my life away to at least 10 weeks.

I am wishing for some more positive news from all of the girls ttc.

Good luck for tomorrow - You could POAS before see GP or just ask GP to do a test for you to double check before any other tests. Will be thinking of you xx

vnewmummy · 13/04/2010 11:49

Yes good luck for tomorrow Boba. Let us know how you get on.

Welcome to Willow

Clomid tablets seem to be ok, got a strange taste in my mouth but thats about it. Last tablet tonight and dont think CBFM will ask until day 10 this month for 1st test stick so lets see. ;-)

x

Angelgirl79 · 13/04/2010 12:12

Fingers crossed this is your month vnewmummy xx

boba82 · 13/04/2010 12:20

Yes good luck vnewmummy and thanks for the good luck wishes, you too angel.

I only bought one CBPT this month to deliberately stop me POAS like a crazy woman so will get my "fix" tomorrow, ha ha

Harry2007 · 13/04/2010 16:37

Hi ladies,

so sorry I haven't posted for ages but there's been quite a lot going on I'm afraid to say.

I think the last time I posted I told you that I was miscarrying, well I had my hcg levels monitored over the next week and they were climbing rather than falling. Had another scan and they found an ectopic pregnancy. I agonised over the decision whether to take the methotrexate or whether to have surgery because the registrar told me that if I was to opt for the methotrexate, if it was still in my system the next time I conceived, the baby could have abnormalities. Anyway, finally decided on the methotrexate following advice from the Consultant and was due to go in the following morning to have it. Woke up the following morning in tremendous pain, was rushed into hospital and was taken straight down to theatre for emergency surgery during which my whole left Fallopian tube was removed. Apparently if I'd have waited another hour I would have died. I was bleeding internally because the ectopic was rupturing.

Came out of hospital on Sunday with a scar bugger than my cesarean scar and still in a lot of pain. No work driving for six weeks.

So that's my story, I thought I'd tell you about it because you were all part of my journey to getting pregnant.

Perhaps you'll see me back on the thread in a few months time but will be lying low for now just gettting my head around losing my baby and getting over the surgery.

Baby dust to you all xxx

boba82 · 13/04/2010 17:04

OMG Harry I am so sorry but glad that you have come out the other end ok. It must have given youi an awful fright?!

Big get well hugs and kisses to you hun x x

BabyHoping · 13/04/2010 17:33

Oh Harry I´m so sorry. I hope you recover soon. I understand you do not want to talk about getting pregnant again in the next weeks, but if you need to talk about anything else we are here. I myself have had 3 miscarriages, one I had to perform an D&C and another one had to stay home for a whole month after baby died waiting for it to be expelled and in the end it was quite painfull in everyway.

Lots of good vibes to you and get well soon both from the surgery and from your loss.

Lychees · 13/04/2010 17:42

So sorry Harry about what you have had to go through. Sending you all the very best and hoping for a speedy recovery for you. As BabyHoping says, we are here is you need a chat.

Good luck at the doctors tomorrow, Boba. And hope that the Clomid leads to a BFP this cycle, vnewmummy.

I am still holding off any testing [although I have three tests sitting in my drawer Boba] unless AF doesn't come. Sadly, I think I'm probably out again this month though.

Nanny01 · 13/04/2010 18:02

Harry soo sorry to hear you had such a bad time, sending you lots of hugs wish we could do more. Like others said here to lend an ear if you need to talk.

vnewmummy · 13/04/2010 19:50

Thank you everyone for your good luck wishes.

Harry I am really sorry to read your news hon. I dont know if this helps but my best friend had the same thing happen to her and 4 months later she managed to get pregnant. Great big cuddle. Just rest and take good care of yourself.

Angel how you feeling?

I am going to be thinking positive things this month rather than thinking nothing will happen. xx

Keziahhopes · 13/04/2010 21:17

Hug for you Harry ... hope you can get the rest you need.

Missyraines · 14/04/2010 07:50

Well it's really a rollercoaster of emotions in here.

But it's good we all have each other to rant/sound off to. It lets us know we're not alone and all want babies very much.

I came on this morning on cd30 so had to press the m for the start of my second cycle with cbfm. Maybe this cycle I'll get a peak as haven't had one yet.

Sorry to read the bad news but it's nice when you read a sucess story.

Good luck and health to all.
