Off to see twilight at a mother and baby cinema wiht my friend and her little one. Not sure this is an entirely good thing.

Ok, I know this is a pathetic thing to be excited about but I have been faithfully POAS for my Clearblue Monitor every day this month, and today - day 13! - I got a "high" reading, hooray!! So for the first time in my entire life I know I am actually ovulating (or about to anyway). Amazing!

It does throw up a few worries in my mind (I am one of life's worriers ) because if I do ovulate mid cycle as this suggests then DH and I have been BDing right on target for the last three months and nothing has happened at all. Bodies are weird.

So, guess what I'll be doing for the next few days?

Morning all

We have a miserable day here too honeymoo, I'm not off to the cinema though , I'm off to do a recce for a job shortly, It won't take long but I'm not looking forward to going out of the door today!

I need enlightening about 'Twilight', is it related to New Moon? - both of which I know nothing

Lol at kkas and "that werewolf guy is hot hot hot!!!"

I had my little visitor earlier in the week, 8 weeks old and gorgeous! I held him the whole time him and his mum were here, took his snowsuit (v cute) off and put it back on him when they went - It felt very natural holding him

pixie this is not daft at all! Anythind that gives you concrete evidence your body does what its meant to is a good thing. And depending on your age I read that there is only a 30% chance each month even if everything else is lined up! So hang on in there, or at least thats what I'm trying to do!

claire the movie was brilliant. Only marginally spoiled by the fact I've now pathetically read all of the books in one sitting. I know. It's like being 14 years old again with a massive crush. Husband thinks I'm weird, but I tell him its the same as his dr who fixation.

Baby cinema really is quite good. Movie is so loud that you don't really hear that much grizzling and most of them were asleep. there is this whole other world of stuff to do other than sit at a desk in an office in the west end of London!!

Anyway the movie was indeed new moon and without ruining the story, it's all adolescent angst, hot teenage boys/vampires/werewolves and self restraint, "making out" whilst trying to stay alive. That's about it really.

Now I am sitting here eating a ham sandwich and got text from husband who is dining out on the river with clients. Who is on the holiday here eh?

In a grump so might go to supermarket and buy some nice dinner for later.

Sorry to hear about your AF Yorkshire, difficult to know what to say isn't it?, other than here's to next month and indulge yourself with 'stuff' you wouldn't be able to have if you were PG

Glad you enjoyed the film Honeymoo, doesn't sound like my kind of thing really, (not to see at the cinema anyway) - maybe I'll catch it when it comes to the small screen. I have heard of these parent and child screenings for films, my local Arts Picturehouse puts them on - something to think about for the future...

Lol @ Twilight/ New Moon - I was thinking it was only me having inappropriate thoughts about hot werewolf boys!

Going to try OPK sticks I got in a bundle from Ebay with my BBT thermometer starting tomorrow, just to try and pin my cycle down a bit seen as it's been fairly irregular since coming off the pill - then I might at least know if I'm ovulating!

What does AF stand for?

You can tell i'm a newbie!

Currently at work and feel the dizziest I have ever felt in my life. Probably related to something totally random - but I am hoping against hope its a sign! Seems like just about anything can be interpreted as a symptom of pregnancy. Don't want to hope too much though, otherwise it will just be too sad come the time of the month. Not sure I am approaching this pregnancy thing with the most well adjusted of tempraments!

I love New Moon, though I cannot bring myself to read the books! I always ask my DP why he can't be more like lovely Edward....

Cycle 3 UCL 30-32 CD64

Ok so I am back again. Was to the GP today to see what is up with 36(yep you heard it) negative pregnancy tests and still no AF (aunt flo for your info hypteticalmummy).

Lost you guys for a while, and the last time I was on I said that I had gotten a friend AF, but it was a false alarm and like one small spotting episode which was gone before I even went to bed!

So here is crossing the fingers nothing is wrong. Here is my drop of hope that it might be a pregnancy and im one of those really really unusual folks who get negatives when they are preggers! (dont worry, not getting my hopes up).

Will need to catch up on everyones stories since i finally found you all again!!

I just want to be pregnant already! I'm so sick of ttc.

I was hoping for ov during my vacation. That was the whole point to my vacation (if I wasn't at work, maybe I wouldn't get stressed out). Well, yesterday was my last day and I had not ovulated. I cried in the morning both about ttc stress and about going back to work. This cycle, I've done very good with exercise and diet (lots of soy and leafy greens). I also started taking b-complex vitamins. I was hoping that all this would maybe even move my ov up a little.

In the afternoon, I went to see the acupuncturist and told them that I didn't ovulate yet. He said that with changes in my diet, the acupuncture, and eventually with some herbs, my cycle will hopefully get better and regular. Then, to help things along, he added a few needles just under my belly.

Well, on the way home I started feeling some cramps. That evening, I got a very little EWCM (I usually don't get any, but have been drinking grapefruit juice and extra water). This morning, I got an almost positive and tonight, after more cramping, my opk is a definite positive.

So, maybe it was a coincidence, but maybe not. I prefer to think that the acupuncture made the difference yesterday. Now, I just get to try to convince the other half to bd again tonight (we did it this morning and two nights before). He'll want to wait until tomorrow morning, but I think the window will close by then.

Now, it'll be interesting to see if the B vitamins made any difference. I really hope this month takes, but if not, I'm feeling better about future months with the changes I've seen.

homebound I really hope you're soon to get a bfp. The spotting seems like a positive sign. How soon will you hear from the GP?

Also, welcome to Hypotheticalmummy and any other newbies I missed! I too, love the Twilight series. However, I'll take the book over the movies anytime- they were so fun to read! Although I'm "team Jacob," I have a huge crush of the guy who plays Carlisle in the film (but I hate the blond hair on him). He used to ice-skate at my rink and is absolutely dreamy in person- a little "rougher" than he is in the film. What made him even more crush-worthy was that he usually took lessons with his daughters. `Very sweet.

Honeymoo, are you due to test soon? How about you WhiteRoses? Any news? How are you feeling?

Morning all

Well, we (DH and I) have just put our return to TTC into action his morning I thought I would start the ball rolling, so to speak, as I noticed last month that I had some EWCM very early on in my cycle CD7,8,9 and I want all angles to be covered - just in case Will try every other day, for as long as we can manage it

Aly, very interesting about the acupuncture, you know you may be covered in terms of the bding, as you've been DTD so close to when you feel you've OV'd, you've probably already got some of those elusive little swimmers still hanging around

WhiteRoses, even though mine was for very different reasons, I feel that I've benefited hugely from our short break from TTC. Our break was for 2 months and it did go by quite quickly, hopefully it will for you too and you'll feel more relaxed about falling PG and the knock-on affect that will have for you at work

Sorry no more time to post, am off on a job today - will pop back on tonight.

Hi all,

Oh dear, was so excited about starting to TTC this month but my mother managed to put a dampener on it last night (not that she knows what we're planning ). She spent an hour on the phone to me complaining about having to look after my sister's 6 month old (which she does twice a week) going on and on about how tiring it is, how isolating it is etc. Oh well I suppose it's different if it's not your own child and you're nearly 60. But still, feel a bit deflated.

But the baby name book I ordered should be arriving soon so that will cheer me up

Have a good weekend everyone and take care x

Hello. Just wanted to check in. I went ahead and took the rest of the week off so I have had these four days at home to relax. The pain is much better now and I get cramps here and there but they aren't too bad. The bleeding has slowed down as well but I never had anything heavy so I am wondering if I even will.

I had a dream last night that I was pregnant with a baby due 10/10/10 and it was July 2010 and I was ready to have my baby then. Maybe I was confused in my dream since this baby was supposed to be due in July. Strange! I will take a baby due in October because that means I would get pregnant in January. Who knows how long we are going to have to wait for things to settle down with my body to get back to normal although I wasn't too normal to begin with!

I confess to being a Twilight fan also but I agree that the books are better. The movies provide nice eye candy though!

Report
rollerbaby · 04/12/2009 16:42

Well it's day 28 in the big brother house and yes I caved in and tested yesterday to a BFN unsurprisingly. I reckon my usual cycle length is about 32 days roughly so will keep hanging on, but not really that positive as I don't feel that different from last month really and the nausea seems to have stopped now.

Sevans very glad that the pain has lessened a bit and you are taking things easy. Yes the twilight books are definitely better - I was just keeping my friend company (at least that's the excuse I'm sticking too!)

Claire I tried the every other day and we lasted I month that way - my poor DH was knackered and complaining! I don't blame him really. this month we've been more strategic in timing. Not sure that is better though... in terms of keeping it 'fresh' TMI I know! We also have an Arts picture house here in my corner of SW London - I wonder if you are nearby.

Aly that is really fascinating about acupuncture. I've heard good things about it, so might be worth a thought...

Whiteroses hang on in there - it can take ages for the HCG to build up for some people apparently. I am going to try and leave it until middle of next week if AF hasn't arrived by then. Fingers crossed for you!

Have a good Friday chaps. Christmas tree going up tomorrow which should keep my mind of clearblue in bathroom cabinet.

Oh Sevans, I do know your pain hunny. Chin up, sometimes the body will dispose of things that arent healthy enough to survive...think of it that way, it may have been worse off if it had survivied, thats what got me though. Hope this is an upper for you..not a downer, i really do!

Well...as I work for the NHS, I had a proper test today on the advice of my GP and it was a BF NEGATIVE...why do they have to put the results on the screen in block capitals???? LIke it doesnt suck enough?! So im now officially worried something is wrong...Im am big time stressed these days so that my be it...but two months...cant be!

On the bright side hubby and I had some of the best sex EVER tonight...i know too much information, but something about not being worried about whats going on must have put us at ease....cause WOW! So anyway.....

I will see my GP next week. Im a bit relieved cause if i was pregnant i didn't know how i was going to explain to my work friends why i wasnt drinking at our Christmas party tomorrow!!! I plan to have a big drink because we all know the truth... im really upset that it isnt a BFP....

Elenora - I'm sure that if your mother was no longer able to care for your sisters baby on a regular basis she would be far more distressed by that! Don't get deflated! My sister in law has found that having a baby has given her a whole new social outlet and I'm sure she would say its anything but isolating!
