Claire loving your nipple watch Just make sure you dont do it in public.

Whiteroses I need to go back for more blood tests but basically the doctor said that as it goes by about 9am then it is not affecting me too much so doesnt want to send me for too many tests. But I think I need to go back and start exploring few more avenues.

Pixie I hope we move to graduates soon too, wouldnt it be nice if we could all move on mass so we dont leave anyone behind.

Just read another thread on the boards with someone posting saying they are ttc and have already bought loads of baby stuff, something like 67 babygrows!! Has anyone else bought anything yet. I am far to scared too in case it never happens.

Eadwacer · 18/01/2010 15:29

Hello claire, thanks so much!

This is me:

TTC#1 Cycle1 UCL24 CD6

Early days for me....

claireinthecommunity · 18/01/2010 15:39

Zippy, no, I daren't buy any baby 'stuff' yet - like you, just in case it never happens. My cousin, on the other hand, bought all manner of baby related items, even before she and her DH started TTC... But she is a bit of an odd bod

I'm not sure, but I may have just seen some more EWCM??????... Will jump DH later just in case, he'll think his luck's in - sex, and not even during my (supposed) fertile time!!!

Yeah zippy, not in public but I've been caught out on previous months by DH - his response: "oh, I can do that for you"

pixiestix · 18/01/2010 15:45

I saw that thread - she has bought 35 stuffed giraffes as well as the 67 sleepsuits!! Actually EvilGiraffe is this you under a pseudonym???
I would be much to terrified to buy anything - it would seem like it would be tempting fate too much. TBH I don't think I will be buying very much until after the 20 week scan (I'm thinking ahead here as you can tell) - it would break my heart to have lots of little clothes in the house and no baby

"...it would break my heart to have lots of little clothes in the house and no baby " - Pixie that is so sad and exactly why I won't be buying anything too early.

35 stuffed giraffes?????

Eadwacer · 18/01/2010 16:06

Um. I don't like to sound sharp or owt, but I'd've thought 67 sleepsuits would be excessive (and bordering on strange)even if you were due to pop in a week's time!

Hermya321 · 18/01/2010 18:22

Evening all, well quite an eventful day. Had a fitness assessment today, which although I passed with sucess left me wheezing in the corner like a an old woman with a fifty a day habit and a clicky hip. I blame it on the flu that I caught over Christmas and still hasn't shifted properly.

Zippys Eadwacer Thanks for that. Yes I had heard that as well, I will be taking my DH BDing like theres no tomorrow. Plus it will help with fitness levels as well. After all, isn't one of the new government health things to sexercise yourself to health.

Pixie Maybe there should be a group rub? I think Yorkshire would be up for it. Random symptons, I can see that AF is late from another post. Are you thinking of testing or you leaving it for a while? I'll try not to fuel the obsession, but I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Whiteroses Maybe you shouldn't leave, we love having you here.

Pidgin I know what you mean, it's so strange isn't it. I felt like I was doing something really taboo when me and my DH started TTC. Weird isn't it.

Claire In weird big brother voice 'Day five on nipple watch and Claire's DH notices...' LOL! I know what you mean about buying baby stuff. I couldn't bring myself to do it whilst TTC. I would feel like it was cheating a bit. I want to do that when there's the certainty that the DC is gonna actually use the stuff and I quite agree. If anything bad did happen, it would be like a constant reminder of it.

But 67 sleepsuits and 35 Giraffes, I can maybe understand the sleepsuits why would you need that many giraffes?

Eadwacer I don't think you're being sharp at all.

Hermya321 · 18/01/2010 18:25

I know most people don't actually buy things for DC until they're certain and things are settled.

But, does anybody ever have a sneaky wonder through Mothercare or the baby aile at boots or have a bit of a broody nosey on Kiddicare.com or Mothercare.com?

CurlyCasper · 18/01/2010 18:33

'ello ead. Nice to "see" you again. Sorry, I Hadn't realised you were here. I like to pop back in now and then.

On the subject of buying stuff, I walked into Mothercare a couple of times before Christmas, peed my pants (not literally) and walked out.

But last weekend OH and I spent ages in there, lifting down and playing with prams. I reckon getting past 12 weeks really helps!. Purchases so far: 1 sleeping bag, a packet of short sleeve legless babygro things (whatever they are called). That's it.

DrewsGirl · 18/01/2010 18:38

Hermya - I love looking at the babyclothes in shops! Although it is abit obsessive, also i have already seen buggies that i like! I dont think i will be buying 35 Girrafes though! Lol @ Day 5 on claires nipple watch

Still no luck with POAS, FF said tomorrow is the day to do it ... so we will wait and see. Its not the end of the world though as i have 2 CBFM in the post to me!

Hermya321 · 18/01/2010 18:54

Drew I'm looking at them as well, I don't know if DH will agree to let me get one. But I convinced him to let me get OV tests. I might just stick with those for this month and then see from there.

I haven't been in Mothercare for ages, I love looking in the baby section at next they have some really cute stuff. The baby aile at boots smells (ironically enough) like babies. It reminds me of when my brother was teeny tiny. That weird mix of sudocream and johnsons baby powder.

Curly I think there is a world of difference between having a sneaky look and actually going in there to buy stuff for a real live baby to be. To be honest I think when the time comes I'll have a full on panic attack followed by a trip to Starbucks to calm me down. LOL!

addie81 · 18/01/2010 19:13

I have sneaky online baby shop browses all the time. I already have a bugaboo and a cot and all sorts of other stuff picked out. I just can't wait to have an excuse to buy it all.

maamalady · 18/01/2010 19:17

Heh, no the 35 giraffes are nothing to do with me! I have a few giraffe-related items in my house, but not one stuffed one!

I LOVE going into Mothercare or baby sections of other shops and just having a mooch about marvelling at the teeny tiny clothes. I was so pleased when my cousins' children were born as I had an excuse to actually look properly and even BUY something!

I don't think I'll buy anything until I'm actually pregnant and even then it will probably be some time before I get anything. I think people tend to lend lots of clothes and things between family and friends so can't really see the point in buying tons of stuff new.

No real news from me, TTCing still going well with the "BD every couple of days or so" method. I'm about a fortnight away from expecting AF now, I'm sure my cycles won't be settled this fast though so predict a late AF coupled with BFN. Still, you never know eh?

mumnerves · 18/01/2010 19:19

Congratulations MadameG!..and thanks for the babydust All these BFP going about! It can only be good!

Drewsgirl I think you're right, but I'm a bit on the ahem dry side (also partly TTC pressure) and I think maybe using pre-seed will just provide a better environment for the little swimmers

chance no, no dance yet, but today I was humming another song:

EE double you see em (sung to D-I-S-C-O)

This was in work so I had to ahem sing the real version as my colleagues don't know I'm TTC! I've not got babies on the brain HONEST!

I feel a bit like addie81 I've looked at lots of stuff but just don't want to buy yet as I'd feel I'd jinx it! The only thing I've bought so far is a pregnancy journal and a maternity swimsuit cos it was reduced at Next

zippys · 18/01/2010 19:22

I may not have bought anything but have loads picked out in my head!! I have been broody since I was about 17 (11 years ago) and so have had a lot of time to think about it but I have got to the point now that when I go in baby shops i get a little upset as I thought I would be shopping for real by now.

ead I agree with you regarding the exercise. I have put on weight recently and dp keeps reminding me sex will burn more calories!!

Eadwacer · 18/01/2010 19:32

Allo curly!

I must admit I've done some sneaking online - largely at striped babygros which reduce me to the wibbles for no sound reason.

But a) we're really quite poor and b)I feel quite passionately that I don't want to stuff my wee flat to the rafters with clothes that'll last a matter of weeks and unspeakably ugly plastic tat, so I dunno that I'm going to be one of the great spenders.

I AM considering making a wee cot quilt though ...

WorrisomeHeart · 18/01/2010 19:44

Hi all

Hermya Completely agree with the pre-planning/nosying of baby stuff! Lke ady I have cot etc picked out - in fact I have prety much planned the layout of the nursery However, I'm not buying anything yet - tbh I was convinced I'd jinxed myself by buying a couple of pregnancy books (as opposed to conception ones) before I was preggers! Am a bit about the giraffes though!

Oh and eadwacer am so on board with the stripy babygros - sooo sweet!

Chance I used the normal OV kits when we first started TTCing but didn't really get on with them. I think mostly because I didn't like having to cut down on my liquid intake in the afternoon to get a decent result. I've found temping and Fertiity Friend a life-saver though - it helped me to discover I ov later that I'd thought.

Yorkshire I think you and I are going to the clinic on the same day - 29th Jan right? Here's hoping both of our results are good.

MamaG - Congrats! And lol at you doing 4 tests!

drewsgirl I don't know if the Pre-seed has made a huge difference in terms of conception but it really has helped with the slightly strained atmosphere of baby-making! We enjoy it anyway.. And it's supposed to help nourish the little swimmers so it can't be a bad thing.

Pidgin its funny how quickly being relaxed about TTCing can go out the window! Hope your first official 2ww isn't too onerous!

zippys liking the idea of gold stars for BDing - that would make a BFP the reward for a full star chart!!

pixie it's sounding good!! Or at least interesting... Have you decided on testing yet? Oh and I'm in the queue behind zippys! whiteroses interesting what the doc said, it's so hard to keep perspective when TTCing but really 3 months is a very short period of time in the grand scheme of things. Hope you're feeling ok now?

claire lol at 'nipple watch' I wonder if there would be a Big Brothers Little Brother Nipple Watch for that!

mumnerves Liking the song, maybe we should make it the official First Time Frolickers theme song!

evilgiraffe you never know - it could be a long cycle which ends in a BFP!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Hermya321 · 18/01/2010 19:46

Eadwacer I know what you mean about not wanting to spend a lot. My friends who have a DD and a DS clothed their children entirely from hand me downs and stuff from ebay and NCT sales. To be honest I'm quite looking forward to taking ebay on with a storm.

I think a cot quilt would be a lovely idea.

claireinthecommunity · 18/01/2010 20:25

Evening all

Lol at your big brother voice Hermya and yes, I always sometimes browse for baby 'stuff' online

Eadwacer, I'm also considering making a cot quilt I made roman blinds and cushions for our home, so, will definitely be making some 'soft furnishings' for the baby room.

fudgecat · 18/01/2010 20:49

evening everyone

Yuck - dont you just hate mondays

i still have achey boobs but no other symptoms (unless tummy upset counts?) DP keeps asking about my boobs too, he did make me lol in the kitchen earlier when he asked if they "were leaking" - Bless him, he has read the blokes guide to pregnancy and i think he has got a bit muddled with what happens before\after birth

MadameG wow Congratulations!!! and in your 1st month!!!

Zippy - i think i will hold off testing til friday if AF doesnt show up - at least that way i'll know if im ok to have a drink at the weekend or not

pixiestix - well spotted on the CD - your tummy pains sound promising. Not sure i could hold out til Sunday like you are planning i will keep my fingers crossed for you

addie81 - you sound way too organised picking stuff out - i am incapable of making choices

bunnygirl80 · 18/01/2010 21:03

Gosh you lot can talk!!! With the time difference here most of the posting takes place while I'm tucked up in bed and then I wake up to pages of posts to read - it's just taken me half an hour to catch up

Congrats to madameG We're having a bumper month for BFPs.

mumnerves maybe you should become the official songwriter for the First Time Frolickers

I laughed alot at the thought of us all queuing up to rub up against madameG! And at day 5 on Claire's nipple watch!

Hermya I love looking a baby stuff. My SIL and a close friend both had babies recently and I just loved picking out clothes for them. They are all so tiny and cute. I'm sure when it comes to my own I'll be really restrained as I think alot of baby stuff is really expensive given that they will grow out of it after a few weeks!

We've just bought a car from one of DH's work friends who bought a pram so massive that they had to buy a bigger car to fit it in the boot. The car we've bought from him is a massive 4x4 so I can only imagine the size of the pram!

I had quite a good day yesterday. We went to see DH's new doctor - he was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few months ago and the doctor in the UK wanted him on meds that meant we wouldn't be able to TTC for at least a couple of years . We decided to ignore her as we were moving but I was quite worried that the doctor here would say the same thing.

He was really nice though and said that as DH's only symptom is a sore thumb that we don't need to worry about strong meds at the moment and to have fun TTC . He just wants DH to go back once I'm pregnant and then he can start the meds once we're happy that the pregnancy will be healthy (although knowing the way I worry this would probably be 3 months after the baby is born!)

Hobnob76 · 18/01/2010 21:56

Thanks for all the lovely messages!

Massive congrats MadameG Claire thanks for the link to the grad thread

kkas thanks for putting my BFP date right

Pidgin yeah weird to think that nearly a yr ago I posted that waiting thread, seems like ages ago now, never thought I'd be here with a BFP just under a yr later!

Righty ho, off to look at the grads thread. Thank you so much for having me, you ladies are wonderful! Hope you all get BFP's soon

sparklyrainbow · 18/01/2010 22:53

Hi all

Well done Hobnob and MadameG

I got a very faint BFP Saturday 16th (only did one test, definitely a line just very pale, we both agreed). Can't really believe it yet and don't really want to tempt anything to happen as I think I was pregnant 2 months ago and had a very early miscarriage. Still no AF and I have had many, if not all, pregnancy symptoms over the past week and a half (including ridiculously sore boobs) so fingers crossed. Am planning to test again tomorrow, I wouldn't like to become obsessive about such things...

So I may have graduated but not entirely convinced yet...

claireinthecommunity · 18/01/2010 23:41

Goodness me, another BFP!!! Congratulations sparkly I can understand your cautiousness, come back and tell us how you get on tomorrow
