kkas your leaking story made me chuckle maybe wait a bit before heading to the shops next time

im on CD25 today and have rather achey boobs im trying to not read too much into it but you know whats its like on the 2ww

addie81 · 16/01/2010 20:19

My zita west and toni weschler books arrived from amazon so I am now charting very carefully. so far I think the toni weschler book is much better. I have been pretty much ignoring the zita west one. I know some of you already have the toni weschler one, but if you don't have it ("taking charge of your fertility"), then I highly recommend it. its definitely taught me lots of tips that i didn't know before. we are in the middle of the fertile phase, i think i will ovulate tomorrow. bding every day and keeping fingers crossed. I am dreading the two week wait this month having got my hopes up last month only to have them dashed by a very short luteal phase! hopefully the same thing won't happen this month. aly - i symphathise on the insanity at work front. me and DH both doing 15 hours a day at the moment. no sign of it letting up though so we are bashing on with ttc-ing anyway!good luck to everyone testing in the next few days.

mumnerves · 16/01/2010 21:48

Hermya321 I know how you feel! MIL rang DH a couple of months ago to say she had a dream that she had become a grandmother and again a week later to say that her fortune teller !???! had told her that she would have one in 2010! We hadn't even said anything and grrrr it just annoyed me, like you said, thank god for MN!

WorrisomeHeart We've only used it once and I did find it was good, I liked the fact that I could use it half an hour before so it took the pressure off having to use it just before. I know what you mean about lack of spontaneity, we've gone down to bd every other day now to try and stop stressing about it!

bunnygirl80 · 16/01/2010 22:43

kkas I laughed so hard at the leaking and mumnerves at you singing in the shower.

worrisome I haven't taken any vits to regulate my cycle. I was planning to if my luteal phase was short again, but it was 13 days this time so will hold off for now. Do you think the B6 is helping?

aly it sounds like zita west wants us to just sit quietly in a darkened room except for when we need to bd! I don't have her books but have read some of her stuff on the internet and it seemed a bit much for me. I'd probably feel totally depressed about TTC if I had to give up everything I enjoy.

addie have you done anything to try and lengthen your luteal phase? When mine was short for the last couple of months I read up on taking either B6 or agnus castus to help. Or maybe discuss it with your doctor?

Am getting lots of cramps at the moment, but am actually pleased Since I came off the pill AF has been really light and not felt like a proper AF at all. This time seems much more like it should be - hopefully everything is having a good clear out to leave a nice home for a baby this cycle!

Hermya321 · 16/01/2010 23:17

You can take vitimins to regulate your cycle? Where have I been?

Bunnygirl80 You'll have a BFP before you know it!!!

aly323 · 17/01/2010 01:57

It's nice to see that many of you ladies share some of my ttc insanity. For awhile, I felt like the only one doing supplements, opks, bbt, etc. I use pre-seed and really, really like it. I also have been taking b-complex (100). I had an extra day last month, but went back to normal this month. I've been going to an acupuncturist as well. Hopefully something will eventually increase my lp a little.

I tried soy last month in an attempt to move my ov forward. It didn't make much of a difference from what I could tell. I have loads of girly cancers in my family, so I get a little nervous messing too much with my hormones (soy increases estrogen production). I'm considering getting genetic testing so that I can consider that in case I have to move on to medications. I also just got a cbfm, and I think they soy could mess with that.

As for telling people we're ttc... I can't stop. I feel like everyone who has been within three feet of me recently knows. It hasn't been too bad though. There was a period where I was very uncomfortable when people would ask "if it took yet." But now, I'm ok with it. I just keep telling people that we're working on it, and it's turning out to be a lot more difficult than I had expected. The funny thing is, this has actually led to many people opening up to me about the difficulties they had ttc. On Friday, one of my bosses told me that the baby his wife will be having any day now, is the product of their third ivf attempt. I've been shocked by how many of my friends and co-workers have been exactly where I am now. I personally think it's more that in general society just because I'm surrounded by people who put ttc on hold for their careers, many of them women, who like myself, used the pill for 15 or more years.

I've kind of had it in my head since we first started that it might take me awhile. I know it sounds crazy, but I had a dream right after we started ttc (I even posted about it ages ago). In the dream, my mom, who is dead, had a baby girl with her and was sending it to live with another family member. I kept telling her that we would take her instead. My mom told me that she would come to live with me, but it would take awhile. I know that it's silly, but I really think we'll have or adopt a girl eventually (although DH and I are both rooting for a boy). I know, I'm a nutcase .

Hobnob76 · 17/01/2010 09:20

Well ladies, it appears whiteroses was right! I did indeed get a BFP or four this morning! I knew I didn't feel right!

Hermya321 · 17/01/2010 09:43

Hobnob76 OH MY GOSH! Congratulations!!!!! I'm so so pleased for you, that is such fantastic news!!!

I'm still feeling crampy and achey. Still not sure if I have spontaneously OV or if AF is on her merry way. We shall see.

Hobnob76 · 17/01/2010 10:13

Thanks Hermya Cramps were good for me, had them from about 8dpo, F'X for you!

ceebs05 · 17/01/2010 10:53

Congrats Hobnob that's great news!

Am feeling slightly queasy again this morning but not sure if it's all in my head or bad chinese takeaway last night!

whammie76 · 17/01/2010 10:58

Congratulations Hobnob on your BFP. I've only been on one of the 2ww threads at the moment. I'll be testing later on, as I'm definately late now. TC x

CurlyCasper · 17/01/2010 11:20

OMH Hobnob that's ace news! I'm so, so, so, so happy for you! get over to the grads thread

CurlyCasper · 17/01/2010 11:26

OMG, of course

Eadwacer · 17/01/2010 11:32

Oh Hobnob, I'm so pleased, congratulations!!!! Now I want to follow you on the grads thread & see how you're doing!

aly323 Ah, I love it that you've gone for the 'being totally open' approach. I can see how hearing others' stories would be really quite consoling....I've restricted it to the only young Mum I know, largely 'cos with three children she seems to be able to spot minute hormonal changes at fifty paces...

pixiestix · 17/01/2010 11:38

Hooray HobNob! Great news! Your symptoms sounded so strong though, so I think we were all secretly expecting that outcome Fab!

ROFL at Mumnerves song and KKases revolted husband!! How dare he feel sick when he's the one that did that to you!!

Zippys - sorry, I totally forgot to ask after your head Hope you are doing ok now.

Hermya - if you stopped the pill six days early your symptoms sound more like AF than pg On a usual 28 day cycle you would almost definitely have ovulated already by day 22. Hope I'm wrong tho!

Drews - two CBM!!!! Oh god! And you know, you'll probably get pg this cycle and not even have to unwrap one of them!

hobnob congrats! such great news and a great way to start another week! another one to stalk on the other thread

aly thanks for sharing your dream with us. i really believe in the power of interpreting dreams. last week when DH and i were having the BD problems, that night i dreamt of a stag. lo and behold when i looked that up on my trusty dream interpretation website, that means male sexuality! how weird. i don't think i ever have thought about a stag whilst awake and yet my subconscious is aware of the symbolism. anyway, i bet it was comforting seeing your mum in your dream and that you feel she is still involved in your life in some way. can't remember when you said your trial starts, but good luck. you must be manic in the last few weeks of preparation.

pixie that is exactly what i told him! my temp still hasn't gone up yet, so i still don't think i've ov, which is a bit disappointing. i was so hoping it would be perfect timing yesterday. looks like i have to plan the next subtle attack....

whiteroses i know it's so unfair! although i am now starting to think it's much harder on the guys at this early stage being pressured to perform when needed.

i sent an email to my sister (who is just about to start TTC no 2) telling her about my stresses of TTC and she sent me this link. not sure if any of you might find it useful:

www.associatedcontent.com/article/1055924/10_tips_to_eliminate_preconception.html?cat=52

i liked the idea of having time to vent your feelings with your partner. although i'm not sure whether i would be brave enough to suggest that to DH. think it might end up with me in tears and DH scared to death every time! i thought it was good it suggested joining a support group though. you guys are definitely mine!

anyway... sorry for the rambling post. hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend

congrats hobnob

im now on CD26 and have had achey boobs for the last two days i just know that this week is going to drag..... grrrrr

Hermya321 · 17/01/2010 16:43

Whiterose Ahhhh your apple pip sounds like it's coming along nicely.

Pixie Yeah to be honest I think it's AF, the other thing that made me think that was an OV test which came back negative. Oh well, twas a distant hope. So I'm now TTC#1 Cycle#1 UCL ? CD1.

Hobnob Thank you, I'll just take that FX for this next cycle.

Ceebs Hopefully not the takeaway!!!

My DH caught me stealing a hug off of one of the church members 2 week old baby during the coffee break this morning, didn't help that he also caught me cooing over the six month old twins at the end when we were all packing up. I couldn't help it, they're so so cute. He just smiled and rolled his eyes, he is really excited but not as baby crazy as I seem to be at the moment.

I was buying my OV tests as well today and I kept looking over my shoulder fearing that someone I knew would come along and tap me on the shoulder and say 'Ooooo what do you have there?', and then the cat would be well and truely out of the bag. The fear of people finding out. LOL! Thank goodness for MN.

claireinthecommunity · 17/01/2010 17:19

Oh wow hobnob, that's fantastic Congratulations

Lol at kkas and your leaking incident

Sorry to hear about your fall Zippy, how are you doing?

Yes Aly, people do open up if there's a shared experience - nice isn't it!?! I suppose TTC and eventually being PG and having a child will create all new friendships and understandings between others

Capricorn, not sure I like the sound of that, especially if you need to mix it with something else to make it more palatable - good luck with it

Sounding promising fudgecat - good luck And also to all those coming up to D-day

I hope Kaloki is doing ok, she had to move out of her home because of power cuts and a gas leak when the weather was bad - hope you're back soon

I'm at the beginning of my 2WW now, I don't think I've wished time to move so quickly since I was a little girl and it was near to Christmas

WorrisomeHeart · 17/01/2010 17:55

Oh HobNob that's such fantastic news!!! Am soooo pleased for you!! How do you feel? Have you taken it in yet? I hope that like whiteroses you'll continue to lurk on this thread - it'd be great to keep hearing how you're getting on! Oh yay yay yay more grads! Just one thought - can I be next, pretty please with a cherry on top?

Well, I've had a very nice weekend - went out for lunch with my folks today as a belated birthday treat for me and DH (his is a couple of days before me). Was lovely and I ate far too much.=, so bang goes the diet for this weekend! There was this lovely little girl toddling around, probably about 1yr, and she kept coming over and giving us the biggest grin - my heart just melted!

And temp is up, so looks like I'm well and truly into the 2ww now, although I think DH are going to try BDing once more - to 'seal the deal' as he so charmingly puts it!!

Sorry for the mostly me, me, me thread, will try and catch up properly soon! Have a great Sunday all!

maamalady · 17/01/2010 19:50

HobNob - fantastic news! Congratulations!

Hope there's a few more BFPs for everyone else on the way too!

mumnerves · 17/01/2010 19:53

HobNob what great news! So pleased for you!

We are now in the bd stage so just waiting for the opks to show me double lines! Hope everyone had a nice weekend and looking forward to more BFPs!

bunnygirl80 · 17/01/2010 20:46

Congrats HobNob That's fab news, although I have to admit I'd have been shocked if you got a BFN this month after all of those symptoms you were having!

chancewouldbeafinething · 17/01/2010 21:56

Sorry this is going to be a long one...
hobnob Congratulations!!!! we hope to be joining you on the grads thread soon

ceebs fudgecat are you next?

mumsnerves I am still laughing, but what i would really like to imagine is that there is a dance to go along with the song...maybe something like the moves for blame it on the boogie I think we must be at about the same stage of the cycle...I will try the song and see if it brings any luck!

kkas you poor thing i can imagine anything worse that leaking in a tescos car park

Something for the diet coke lovers i found this article (i know its old) and it made me feel a bit more normal...there is someone who drinks more DC than me
www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2002/oct/29/healthandwellbeing.health

aly323 Its strange how people start to tell you about their experiences once the know you are ttc, my sister has obviously been blabbing to her friends that i am, so now i am receiving advice from the other side of the world about charting etc (I am originally from Sydney) At least it makes me feel a bit more normal.

So I have decided to start on charting on FF, still POAS everyday no ov yet. Should be in the next few days. DH like the idea of practicing just in case the test is wrong. WHich I was surprised about as he went MTB today for 5 hours, I have told him that is it for the week - his boys need to be strong

Has anyone else used the normal CB ov tests? (I am wondering if i should have got the digi ones, if i dont see a surge i will be using digi next month) Oh and i think i must have been the only one who was not taking their temp...got a new digi therm so i am starting tomorrow i might be too late tho for this month.

Good luck all
